"The aim of this paper and its accompanying documentary video is to contemplate the value that we place on objects from the past, specifically the mid-century period from 1946 to 1964. This value, I will argue, comes from a combination of subjective, sensorial contemplation, nostalgic yearning, and a reaction to the spatial fragmentation and temporal acceleration of contemporary North American life. In order to bridge the gap between academic discourse and personal narrative, I will apply the theories on memory by Pierre Nora and Andreas Huyssen and on nostalgia by Svetlana Boym to the conversations in the video component of my project about the current fascination with mid-century objects. While the style of the 1950's and 60's could simply be an aesthetic trend, moving to other periods in a few years, perhaps the narratives that surround the mid-century period speak to busy, young people today because of a deeper cultural yearning for postwar ideals like quality and domesticity."--Introduction.

 A pesquisa objetiva compreender como os saberes da experiência de homens e mulheres contribuem para a formação do cotidiano na Comunidade do Rosado/RN. Optamos pelo uso da abordagem qualitativa. Utilizamos como método de investigação a pesquisa (auto)biográfica a partir das narrativas de quatro moradores centrais da comunidade que participaram da pesquisa. No caminhar da pesquisa, apontamos como resultados que os saberes da experiência de homens e mulheres estão sendo compartilhados entre seus moradores, desde as gerações passadas, e preservados pelas novas gerações. Saberes como pescar, plantar, ensinar, cantar, bordar, rezar, costurar, entre outros, são praticados e repassados pelos adultos e jovens na contemporaneidade. Esse processo contribui para a formação do cotidiano na comunidade, nos seus espaços de possibilidades, nas tradições, nos costumes e nos saberes da experiência para a formação do ensinar, aprender, conviver e ser, a partir do pertencimento do seu lugar, na construção da memória individual e coletiva.Palavras-chave: Saberes da experiência. Formação.Knowledge of the experience for the daily formation of men and women of the Community of Rosado/RN ABSTRACTThe objective research understand, how the knowledge of the experience of men and women contribute to the formation of daily in the community of Rosado/RN. We chose to use the qualitative approach. We used the method (auto) biographies research from the narratives of four central residents of the research. In the walk of research in, we point out the results that the knowledge of the experience of men and women have been shared among its residents, from the past generations, and preserved by the new generations. These knowledges such as: fishing, planting, teaching, singing, embroidering, prayer, sewing, among others, are practiced and passed on by adults and young people today. This process contributes to the formation of daily life in the community, in its spaces of possibilities, in the traditions, customs and knowledge of the experience for the formation of teaching, learning, coexisting and being, from the belonging of its place, in the construction of individual and collective memory.Keywords: Knowledge of the experience. Over the past few decades, the adoption of an inclusive approach to education has stimulated a reflection on the educational value of body and movement within teaching-learning process in order to break down all barriers to learning and promote the full participation of young people to school activities. Indeed,body and movement represent an important didactic "medium" for developing individualized and personalized learning paths that take into account the specific needs and characteristics of students thus contributing to their global and harmonious development.

Background. We examined correlates of past year suicidal thoughts and behavior (STB) and described past year treatment experiences among young people who inject drugs (PWID). Methods. Participants were 570 adults (18-25 years) who injected primarily heroin. Interviews were conducted at field stations operated by Community Outreach Intervention Projects in Chicago, Illinois (USA). Interviewers administered the Psychiatric Research Instrument for Substance and Mental Disorders. Substance use and mental disorders were based on DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. Past year STB was based on multiple questions. Results. Sixteen percent of men and 25% of women reported STB in the past year. In multivariable analysis, STB was associated with non-heterosexual orientation, foster care, and being raised by two parents. Primary major depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, other anxiety disorders, and borderline personality disorder had independent effects on suicidality. Among those reporting past year STB (n=111), 83% ever received mental health treatment, while 44% did so in the past year. While 24% of respondents indicated that at least one treatment matched their needs very well, 30% reported treatment that did not match their needs at all. The most common reason for ending treatment was program completion (about 50%) while getting better was endorsed by about 25%. Nearly half reported ending treatment due to a bad experience, logistical issues, or expense. Conclusions. Young PWID are at high risk for suicidal behavior and their mental health treatment experiences often do not meet their needs. There is a pressing need for more integrated substance use and mental health treatment.

Since Thailand's Copyright Act became law in 1979 an indigenous music industry has emerged. In the past, the small recording business was concentrated on two aspects: the sale of imported records and the manufacture of popular, mainly Lukkroong music, and classical records. However, the organisation of the Association of Music Traders – an immediate reaction to the enforcement of the Copyright law – coupled with the advent of cassette technology, has transformed the faltering gramophone trade. Today, middle-class youngsters appreciate Thai popular music in contrast to the previous generation who grew up with western pop and rock. Young people in the countryside have begun to acquire a taste for the same music as well as enjoy a wider range of Pleng Luktoong, the country music with which they identify. How did this change which has resulted in the creation of a new pleasure industry come about? And what are some of the consequences of this transformation.

From time to time for the past ten years I have been in the habit of receiving, from various collectors in this country and Europe, speciments of North American Hesperidœ for comparison and identification with my large collection, which has been justly famous for its completeness. As this collection is now no longer in my possession, being now the property of my friend C. B. Aaron, of Philadelphis, and as I have transferred my allegiance from entomology to ethnology it has occurred to me that it will be well fro me to give here to the students of the Hesperidœ the benefit of such tables, nots teh compilations as have, in years past, been of value to me in the identification of the species in this difficult family.

The climate in German Catholic pastoral care of youth with regards to sex education is in a sorry plight. This is due to the fact that the conflicts of the past are still very much alive. At the same time, however, there is a positive potential for development in this field of pastoral care of youth. This is especially significant, because friendship and sexuality are such important themes for children and young people. Indeed, pastoral care of youth will have to take into account their special life situation and the changed social context. Individualised, postmodern society offers a large number of sexual options. Against this background, we will end by outlining some fundamental perspectives for sex educational concepts in pastoral care of youth, in which teaching them to love and the ability to form relationships is central.

In any study of extensive documentation of the past, one inevitably encounters personalities whose recorded actions stimulate speculation about the unknowable portions of their lives and their impact upon larger historical events. Such a one, to me, is the man called Miguel Caldera. For some years, and through many thousands of pages of Mexican frontier documentation, I have been increasingly intrigued by the story of this mestizo captain. He is omnipresent in the official papers of a critical phase of North American frontier history. His deeds—and their setting—have a dramatic, symbolistic quality which entitles him, I think, to recognition as one of the continent's most significant frontiersmen. Hence this present attempt—brief and incidental though it is—to “define” Miguel Caldera and his measure of significance.

Abstract History shows that the use of the Bible by Christians has changed over the centuries. With the digitization and the ubiquitous accessibility of the Internet, the handling of texts and reading itself has changed. Research has also shown that young people’s faith adapts to the characteristics of the ‘age of authenticity’, which changes the role of normative institutions and texts in general. With regard to these developments this article deals with the question: How relevant is personal Bible reading for the faith formation of highly religious Protestant German teenagers? Answers to this question are provided from previous empirical surveys and from two qualitative studies among highly religious teenagers in Germany. The findings indicate, that other spiritual practices for young people today are more important as a source of faith than reading the Bible. The teenagers interviewed tend to seek an individual affective experience when reading the Bible, so that the importance of cognitive grasp of the content takes a back seat to personal experience.
