It is considered one of the most important problems in land reclamation is the assessment of soda salinization of soils. On the basis of long-term research on the genetic and meliorative properties of the Western Siberia soils, methodological approaches have been given to assessing soda salinization of soils. In the assessment methodology, along with the principle of sodification (congestion and accumulation of soda), depending on the quality of irrigation water, where the processes of metamorphism of the systems of salts and solutions and waters proceed only under the condition ensuring of the forming systems CO3 + HCO3 > Ca2+ + Mg2+, is used the method of soil resistance evaluation. Soil resistance reveals their immunity to soda salinization. Such geosystem evaluation of soil soda salinization has proved its ecological and economic efficiency, revealing the full range of their genetic and land reclamation features.

Flight training is a complex and responsible training process for pilot and requires experienced specialists, good organization and quality control of flight activity. Its main purpose is to create highly qualified personnel with long-term professional skills in the techniques of piloting, aircraft flying and the combat use of aircraft. Assessment is an important part of the training process for young cadets. It determines the extent to which trainees have been able to perceive, learn and comprehend their new flying activity and their ability to apply the acquired knowledge in tense conditions. Assessment is directly related to the quality of the flight training, and it should show the trainees the mistakes they have made and encourage them to upgrade their knowledge and skills. The trainees should be well versed in the assessment methodology and understand its purpose, otherwise the grades obtained will not be an indicator of their ability.

Purpose: adjustment and expansion of evaluation items of economic efficiency of crop growing in the conditions of irrigated agriculture, taking into account its features. Materials and methods. In the process of evaluation, the classical method of investment analysis, the computational-constructive method, one-parameter analysis of the sensitivity of the hydro-land reclamation project to key risks using the parameter variation method were used. The materials characterizing the water management complex and its state support indicators in the Stavropol Territory are presented. The data from agricultural enterprises in Novoaleksandrovsky and Ipatovsky districts of Stavropol Territory were used in calculations. Results. Based on the analysis of the features of irrigated agriculture, their economic aspects are considered and the corresponding methodological approaches to conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the economic efficiency of irrigated agricultural production are proposed. The approbation of individual elements of the proposed methods using averaged factual data made it possible to illustrate the possibility of modeling economic efficiency in conditions of different irrigation methods, using the example of growing vegetable and fodder crops in dynamics, to conduct an investment analysis of a hydro-reclamation project, to characterize indicators for assessing the efficiency using – the identification of the key resources of crop production in conditions of irrigation – land and water, to identify the determining role of the risks of fluctuations in prices for vegetable products as a critical factor for one of the resulting indicators in the project analysis – the payback period of projects for the organization of irrigated agriculture. Conclusions. The proposed methodological complex allows for a more reasoned and multilateral substantiation of the feasibility of irrigation and land reclamation projects implementation, conducting a comparative analysis of their economic parameters, and predicting the resistance level to changes in the main risk factors.

In places where primary and secondary economic sectors are significant proportion of local economy, the quantity and quality of irrigation water has not only environmental but also economical and social affects in local society. A rational management of water resources demands reliable and quick information of the quality of irrigation water especially during summer. The monthly scheduled samplings that are usually followed by the state services in some cases are not adequate. A telemetry network of four stations for real-time monitoring the quality of irrigation water was designed by Directorate of Land Reclamation/Prefecture of Kavala. It covers the most important agricultural areas of prefecture, including the island of Thassos. Stations are equipped with modern and robust instrumentation (multiparameter sensors, data loggers, modems, ups, sophisticated software, etc) to measure physicochemical characteristics of surface and ground water. The records are 24 hours a day and they are transmitted via GPRS. It consists an innovative initiative for local authorities to have the ability of real-time information about the quality of irrigation water and hereupon plan their actions. The system is expected to provide useful scientific data and an effective tool towards a policy of rational management of local water resources.

Abstract Interdisciplinary geriatric assessment has long been considered best practice to identify the full range of elder care needs. In 2015, the Sanford Center for Aging launched an interdisciplinary comprehensive geriatric assessment clinic. This team-based assessment includes a geriatrician, social worker and pharmacist meeting together with each client to review all aspects of their health and well-being, resulting in a comprehensive care plan to coordinate care with the client’s primary care provider. To assess this approach, a survey was conducted with 415 randomly-selected clients prior to the clinical visit, with a 6-month follow-up survey completed for 170 clients (41%), gathering data on hospitalizations, long-term care utilization and quality of life. Combining these data with clinical assessment data provides a picture of clinical complexities of elder clients and offers a mandate for comprehensive interdisciplinary care. Baseline data showed 44% hospitalized in the prior year; an average of 4 chronic conditions and 10 medications; 44% with dementia or MCI and 29% with frailty. At 6-months post-assessment, 29% reported being hospitalized, 3.5% reported moving into long-term care, and there was a slight, non-significant decrease in quality of life. These data demonstrate the profound complexities that can be identified and addressed through comprehensive assessment and care, as well as the potential to reduce hospitalizations, enable people to age-in-place and maintain quality of life. Despite the well-documented value of these approaches, Medicare and other payers have not fully embraced the opportunity to achieve these positive outcomes and remain hesitant to adequately fund comprehensive approaches to care.

The economic assessment of the three-mowing technology for harvesting grass raw materials for haylage was carried out on the basis of new methodological approaches. The total costs (50.5–53.9 thousand rubles/ha) for the creation and use of promising different-ripening grass stands paid off in 1.6 years. In the next 3–27 years of grass life, due to the productive longevity of agrocenoses, 19.1–25.0 thousand rubles/ha of conditional net income were received. The cost of 1 feed unit was 5.2–5.8 rubles with a production margin of 69–87%.

The organizational structure of long-term care (LTC) facilities often removes the rehab department from the interdisciplinary work culture, inhibiting the speech-language pathologist's (SLP's) communication with the facility administration and limiting the SLP's influence when implementing clinical programs. The SLP then is unable to change policy or monitor the actions of the care staff. When the SLP asks staff members to follow protocols not yet accepted by facility policy, staff may be unable to respond due to confusing or conflicting protocol. The SLP needs to involve members of the facility administration in the policy-making process in order to create successful clinical programs. The SLP must overcome communication barriers by understanding the needs of the administration to explain how staff compliance with clinical goals improves quality of care, regulatory compliance, and patient-family satisfaction, and has the potential to enhance revenue for the facility. By taking this approach, the SLP has a greater opportunity to increase safety, independence, and quality of life for patients who otherwise may not receive access to the appropriate services.
