Experimental science should be experimental in every aspect of it, from the life and career path of the experimenter to how its results and thoughts are being written up. In this paper, the author experiments with the stream of consciousness style of writing. To conform to this literary style, the text follows a natural train of thought that abounds with analogies and associations and deliberate typographic and syntactic omissions at times. Paying an homage to Joyce’s Ulysses as the hallmark of the stream of consciousness writings, the author demonstrates empirically and through a bibliographic meta-analysis that a nanoparticle protected against biodegradation in lysosomal compartments of the cell, like Odysseus, takes significantly more time to return to its point of origin than to reach its intracellular destination. Thus, getting across the biological barrier and into the living system is less laborious and tardy than escaping from it. From here on, the corollaries of this finding relevant for the field of targeted drug delivery using nanoparticles are elaborated. This discussion is entwined with the storyline of the paper, which reflects Homer’s epic poem about Odysseus and his long journey home. This experiment in scientific writing is motivated by the hope that rejuvenation of the literary style of technical papers in natural sciences might revitalize the rusty creativity and ill social relations underlying them. By experimenting with literary novelties and eventually adopting them as a common practice, science would be brought closer to the world of arts, at the interface of which it could rediscover its renaissance identity and flourish anew.

Abstract Objective: To identify how Klinefelter’s Syndrome affects patients’ quality of life (QoL) and to determine which subsections of QoL are affected guided by the WHOQOL100-tool as an overarching framework for QoL. To determine the effects and impact KS has on patients’ QoL when compared to the QoL of healthy controls and general population. DESIGN - Systematic review of studies reporting QoL factors among patients with KS which included narrative synthesis and thematic analysis of 17 studies and a meta-analysis of intelligence quotient (IQ) completed in 7 studies. QoL factors were reviewed based on the parameters of the WHOQOL-100: physical health, psychological, level of independence, social relations, environment, and religion/spirituality/personal beliefs. DATA SOURCES - Medline, Cochrane, Embase, Psychinfo, CINAHL, BASE and grey search from the reference lists of key publications. Eligibility Criteria: RCT’s, Cohort studies, cross sectional studies and Epidemiology studies involving patients with KS and reporting on QoL parameters. Only human studies published in English were considered with no limits for publication date. Results: Out of all studies included (n=1266), (87.5%) had suggested KS negatively affected the outcomes measures tested, where recorded (91.1%) of studies had small/medium/large effect sizes (Cohen’s d). Narrative synthesis suggests all subgroups of QoL excluding ‘environment’ and ‘spirituality/faith/personal beliefs’ were negatively impacted for patients with KS, whilst meta-analysis showed statistical significance (P <0.00001) which identified patients with KS having lower full-scale IQ compared to healthy controls. Psychological parameters were the most affected in this patient group, showing that patients with KS experienced greater social anxiety, distress during social interactions, self-esteem, self-injuries behaviours and symptoms or traits related to Autism spectrum. Conclusions: This review identifies the significant evidence supporting that QoL is reduced in patients with KS. There is a large spectrum of symptoms and no standard phenotype for KS suggesting that multiple facets of QoL are negatively impacted in these patients due to the complex nature of KS and the severity of symptoms and phenotype associated with KS. This paper attempts to transfer L.S. Vygotsky’s experimental-genetic method in Science Education and, furthermore, into non-formal settings. The nature of Science Education in early school grades as well as the flexibility and the need to some extent of incorporating arts in Science Education indicate that experimental-genetic method may be applied as a useful tool of analysis which will provide in-depth insights about the learning process. The method was applied to the data, collected from the implementation of the educational program «Thunderbolt hunt» at the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina, Greece. Unlike many other courses, this educational program is based on the museums’ exhibits and introduces concepts of science as well as cultivates scientific method. In this paper a meta-analysis of the implementation of the program to a first grade of a public primary school is presented. The data analysis shows explicitly the relation between the formation of the concept of air and the social relations and interactions between the students. The combination of transcending the misconceptions about air, conducting experiments and trying to adapt a new way of working result in a lot of contradictions while at the same time give space for reflection which altogether create «the dramatic character of the organized interaction».

Modernism is a very interesting and important movement in literature, characterized by a very self-conscious break with traditional ways of writing, in both poetry and prose fiction. However, the most important literary genre of modernism is the novel. Although prewar works by Henry James, Joseph Conrad, and other writers are considered Modernist, Modernism as a literary movement is typically associated with the period after World War I. Other European and American Modernist authors whose works rejected chronological and narrative continuity include Virginia Woolf, Marcel Proust, Gertrude Stein, and William Faulkner. After First World War a lot of developments took place, new inventions opened up the mind of artists in the 1920s, one of them was Virginia Woolf, a very specific novelist. So, this paper deals with Virginia Woolf’s novel, Mrs. Dalloway, and the main focus is on the elements of modernism in this masterpiece. It is a modern novel which has also most of the features of modernism, or we can say that there are several ways in which one can see Mrs. Dalloway as a Modernist novel. The most dominant characteristic is the content and the narrative style. Virginia Woolf overstepped the traditional writing by describing characters not only superficially but also their inner thoughts. Rather than having a straightforward narrative with a beginning and end and a narrator who knows it all, with Mrs Dalloway we have several narrators, flashbacks, stream-of-consciousness style, and a totally fragmented story. Also there is a connection of the author and her characters; she putted a piece of herself in each one of them. This is how you can find about the author’s life path and how her sufferings, mental illness affected into her writing. Thus, Virginia Woolf is considered an iconic modernist writer and pioneer not only of the stream of consciousness narrative technique, but of the use of free indirect speech, psychological as well as emotional motives of characters. Nevertheless, the unconventional use of figures of speech also makes a great characteristic and a symbol of her novels. Stream of consciousness writing allows readers to “listen in” on a character's thoughts. This will make you explore yourself in ways you have never thought before. Specifically, in Clarissa Dalloway’s preparations to host a party that evening Virginia Woolf records all her thoughts, remembrances and impressions, as well as the thoughts of other characters. There is no actual story, no plots or sub-plots, in fact, there is no action in the traditional sense in this novel, except from the “myriad of impressions” created by Virginia Woolf’s new style of writing.

This paper provides a textual analysis of Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself”, revealing its significance as a national poem. The paper argues that Whitman’s "Song of Myself" breaks literary and political limits, challenging the sovereignty of the nation. By examining "Song of Myself" in the six different editions of Whitman’s Leaves of Grass, this paper will further analyze Whitman’s style and his speaker as representations of the limitations and sovereignty of literary tradition and the politics of his nation. By “politics,” I refer to the religious, political, and social doctrines that shape the nation. By “literary,” I mean the traditional literary style of writing, such as the poem’s form, scope, and subject.

AbstractHuman life and society are directly related to nature and the environment. Relations that first appear as natural, namely natural conditions that determine various aspects of individual and social life. The ideal relationship is only beginning, which begins when humans compose interpretations and determine actions for their ecological environment. In short, in the material running occurs reciprocity between nature and humans while in ideal running occurs one-way interaction in which humans treat nature according to their perspective. This article uses a meta-analysis research method that aims to provide scientific evidence about the detection and benefits obtained from the implementation of local wisdom-based social learning as an educational preventive effort. In addition, it also encourages new studies on local wisdom that can be social learning in mitigation transition, emergency response, as well as disaster rehabilitation and rehabilitation. Systematic reviews and meta-analysis that collecting and summarizing the evidence related to local wisdom-based social learning as an effort to prevent education collected from a variety of scientific research and scientific research related to books, journals, mass media, and others. That is with discussions related to human activities and disasters, the implications of the industrial revolution 4.0 on relations between humans and human relations with nature, and facilitating social learning of local wisdom related to disaster mitigation. The era of industrial revolution 4.0 when everyday life is difficult to resolve with the current technology has caused the separation of humans from their environment. Digital development is increasingly rapidly minimizing human interaction with the environment, and making people more distant from the environment. Humans seem to be separated from the physical environment which is higher than is known because humans no longer need nature to survive sustainably. While local wisdom and local knowledge can strengthen individual and social relations with the Environment. Through social learning on local wisdom, it is expected that humans will have a deeper understanding of natural activities and problems caused by natural disasters and can even be prevented from happening.

This article analyzes the massage of Hasan Al-Banna preaching in the book Majmu’at al-Rasail relating to the aqeedah, sharia, and morals, the study uses critical discourse analysis method of Norman Fairclough with an emphasis on the background of sosial situation until the massage of da’wah was formulated. The result of the reaserch show that the massage of da’wah in the book Majmu’at al-Rasail can be explained, among other: the massage of the faith in theological discourse, the massage of sharia in the discourse of power and the moral massage in the discourse of social relations. The monotheistic belief system must be able to provide the divine spirit in all dimensions of life. The spirit grow out of true, pure, clean faith from the element of shirk to God; the sharia system requires applicable law according to the teaching of Islam, focusing on a number of social and political problems that it the country of Egypt after the destruction of the Ottoman Caliph wich fell into British hands. The massage of Hasan al-Banna’s preaching was oriented toward reforming the living system wich was damaged by colonialism and desirous of returning it to the Islamic system.

From 2014 to 2019, Nourishing Communities: Sustainable Local Food Systems Research Group explored food initiatives in the social economy, many of which use practices like bartering, gifting, and self-provisioning, that remain under-recognized for their economic value. Nourishing Communities considered how these organizations may contribute to food security, community development, and environmental remediation, especially for marginalized groups. Its researchers collaborated with such organizations to complete participatory action projects and a range of products to communicate the initiatives’ impacts. As three of those researchers, we subsequently synthesized the material from these outputs to show the resources, barriers, and impacts of the respective initiatives. This meta-analysis reveals that these initiatives not only produce economic, social, and environmental benefits, but also work to organize human relations. Beyond considering how initiatives in the social economy of food interact with the market economy, we use Karlberg’s schema of power to illustrate their potential to reconceptualize human relations. Here we find them gravitating towards “power with” practices that emphasize cooperation over competition. Throughout, we employ the concept of framing to propose ways in which that re-conceptualization might “grow legs” and extend further into larger social discourses. In so doing, we find the initiatives strategically invoking alternative framings of work, knowledge, social relations, and value in order to explain the impact of their own work. Although further research is needed regarding the meaning that impact and power hold for social economy initiatives, this research contributes to scholarly debates surrounding the potential of food initiatives in the social economy.

In its first part, the article reconstructs descriptions of corporal perception of simultaneity. Abstract concepts and categories of time are secondary to these perceptions and objectified by means of language. In a second part, with reference to system theory, the perspective is turned around, so that simultaneity is discussed as a secondary mode of social relations and the inner stream of consciousness; in this view, simultaneity is based on world experience and techniques of synchronization. In conclusion, the paper analyses how modern electronic mass media and especially (live) television produces and manipulates autonomously worldwide synchronization."
