The inventory and assessment of species diversity in the mono-generic family Begoniaceae C. A. Agardh of Bangladesh were made through long term field investigations, collections, identification, survey and examination of preserved herbarium specimens and review of relevant taxonomic and floristic literature. The family is recognized to be represented in the flora of Bangladesh by 19 species under the genus Begonia L. Of these, 11 species were known to be previously recorded from the area of Bangladesh, hence additional 8 species of the present account are being reported here for the first time as new records from Bangladesh, these are: Begonia grandis Dryand. ssp. holostylla Irmsch. , B. heracleifolia Cham. and Schltdl. Cult., B. maculata Raddi Cult. B. modestiflora Kurz, B. muliensis T. T. Yu. Cult., B. scintillans Dunn, B. surculigera Kurz and B. thomsonii A. DC. An enumeration of these 19 species is prepared, and each species is cited with detailed taxonomic data. All species of the Begonia L. are herbaceous in nature and possess potential economic values, viz. 11 (52%) medicinal, 5 (24%) ornamental, 3 (14%) beverage, 1 (5%) food and 1 (5%) poisonous. Determination of status of occurrence showed that 2 (10.53%) species are common, 5 (26.32%) cultivated, 9 (47.36%) threatened and 3 (15.79%) possibly extinct in Bangladesh. As part of long term studies focused in the lichenized mycobiota diversity from southern Argentina, two species of the family Lobariaceae (Peltigerales), Pseudocyphellaria pluvialis and Sticta longipes, are registered for the first time in Argentina. These species were previously reported as endemic from southern Chile. Brief descriptions, illustrations and information about the distribution and ecology of the species are provided.

This study reviews the family Macrochelidae in Turkey, with new information about species diversity. Nothrholaspis scutivagus sp. nov., Macrocheles niksarensis sp. nov. and Holostaspella bidentata sp. nov. are described as new species from Turkey. Nothrholaspis scutivagus has a characteristic dorsal shield chaetotaxy, and post-genital platelets that are sometimes fused to the ventri-anal shield. Macrocheles niksarensis has 29 pairs of pilose dorsal shield setae and a machete-like cheliceral dorsal seta. The genus Holostaspella is recorded from Turkey for the first time, on the basis of H. bidentata. Macrocheles peniculatus and M. insignitus are reported from Turkey for the first time. Also, Macrholaspis recki and M. evansi are presented here with some notes on the Turkish specimens.

Present investigation assesses 25 Lamiaceous taxa as possibly Extinct (EX) from the flora of Bangladesh due to various anthropogenic activities. The study based on long term field investigation, examination of preserved herbarium specimens at different national and international herbaria and consultation of relevant floristic literature. These taxa have been previously reported from the area of Bangladesh about 70 to 200 years ago. Since then there have been no subsequent reports of occurrence and no collected specimens are available at any herbaria. Furthermore, this species could not be relocated from elsewhere in Bangladesh. Among these 25 taxa, Leucas mollissima Wall. ex Benth. (=L. decemdentata (Willd.) Sm.) and Elsholtzia incisa Benth. (=E. stachyodes (Link.) Raizada and Saxena) have been reported from the area about 193 and 77 years ago respectively. 18 species (72%) have been reported from Sylhet; of which, 13 species, viz. Aphanochilus blandus Benth. (=Elsholtzia blanda (Benth.) Benth.), Gomphostemma lucidum Wall. ex Benth., G. melissifolium (Roxb.) Wall. ex Benth., Plectranthus hispidus Benth. (=Isodon hispidus (Benth.) Murata), Plectranthus gerardianus Benth. (=Isodon lophanthoides (Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don) Hara), Leucas vestita Benth., Orthosiphon incurvus Benth., Phlomis rugosa Benth. (=Paraphlomis javanica (Blume) Prain), Geniosporum strobiliferum Wall. ex Benth. (=Platostoma coloratum (D. Don) A.J. Paton), Geniosporum parviflorum Benth. (=Platostoma palustre (Blume) A. J. Paton), Pogostemon parviflorus Benth., Dysophylla strigosa Benth. (=Pogostemon strigosus (Benth.) Benth.), and Scutellaria discolor Wall. ex Benth. were named based on type specimens collected from area by Wallich‟s collectors, and Microtoenia griffithii Prain was named based on Griffith‟s collection from East Bengal (current Bangladesh) Sinne loco. Enumeration of these possibly extinct taxa is prepared with data on habit, habitat, phenology, global distribution, recorded localities, specimens examined, and notes with some photographs of type/herbarium specimens.J. The study of several Lake Baikal leech collections offered us the possibility to determine species diversity in the Chivyrkuy Gulf, the biggest one in the lake. As a result, the first information on the Chivyrkuy Hirudinea fauna (Annelida, Clitellata) has been revealed. There are two orders and four families of leeches in the Chivyrkuy Gulf: order Rhynchobdellida (families Glossiphoniidae and Piscicolidae) and order Arhynchobdellida (families Erpobdellidae and Haemopidae). In total, 22 leech species and 2 subspecies belonging to 11 genera were identified. Of these, 4 taxa belong to the family Glossiphoniidae (G. concolor,A. hyalina,A. heteroclitaf.papillosa, andA. heteroclitaf.striata) recorded in Baikal for the first time. Representatives of 8 unidentified species (Glossophiniasp.,Baicaloclepsissp.,Baicalobdellasp.,Piscicolasp. 1,Piscicolasp. 2,Erpobdellasp. 1,Erpobdellasp. 2, andErpobdellasp. 3) have been also recorded. The checklist gives a contemporary overview of the species composition of leech parasites, their hosts, and distribution within the Chivyrkuy Gulf. The analysis of spatial distribution has shown that the leech species diversity is correlated with the biological productivity of the bay. The most diverse community of leech species is detected in the eutrophic zone of the lake.

The study aimed at determining the status of occurrence of the orchid treasure of Bangladesh for providing data for Planning National Conservation Strategy and Development of Conservation Management. 54 orchid species are assessed to be presumably lost from the flora of Bangladesh due to environmental degradation and ecosystem depletion. The assessment of their status of occurrence was made based on long term field investigation, collection and identification of orchid taxa; examination and identification of herbarium specimens preserved at CAL, E, K, DACB, DUSH, BFRIH,BCSIRH, HCU; and survey of relevant upto date floristic literature. These species had been recorded from the present Bangladesh territory for more than 50 to 100 years ago, since then no further report of occurrence or collection from elsewhere in Bangladesh is available and could not be located to their recorded localities through field investigations. Of these, 29 species were epiphytic in nature and 25 terrestrial. More than 41% of these taxa are economically very important for their potential medicinal and ornamental values. Enumeration of these orchid taxa is provided with updated nomenclature, bangla name(s) and short annotation with data on habitats, phenology, potential values, recorded locality, global distribution conservation status and list of specimens available in different herbaria.J. Three rare species of discomycetes in the family Hyaloscyphaceae are reported from Central Russia (Oryol and Bryansk Regions). Proliferodiscus tricolor is recorded for the first time in Russia. Comments are made on Aeruginoscyphus sericeus and Eriopezia caesia previously reported only from Moscow Region and North Caucasus respectively.

Twenty seven species of the true bugs from the families Anthocoridae, Reduviidae, Miridae (Cimicomorpha), Coreidae, Thyreocoridae, Acanthosomatidae, and Pentatomidae (Pentatomomorpha) are recorded from the Northeast of European Russia for the first time. The family Thyreocoridae is for the first time reported from the region.

A total of 46 species and two varieties of the traditionally interpreted genus Orthotrichum are currently known to occur in China. They represent five genera, including Orthotrichum (29 species), Lewinskya (14 species and two varieties), and Nyholmiella and Leratia that are represented by a single species each. The fifth genus Florschuetziella, also consisting of only one species, F. scaberrima, is an entirely neglected representative of the China’s moss flora. A list of all accepted taxa is presented and for each taxon all literature records and herbarium specimens are enumerated for provinces in which they have been recorded, and their distribution is mapped. A key to determination of Chinese orthotrichalean mosses is presented. A chronological list of 63 species and varieties and two designations, O. catagonioides and O. microsporum which have never been validly published, reported from China in the years 1892–2020 is presented. Four species, Orthotrichum brasii, O. hooglandii, O. elegans and O. gymnostomum are excluded from the bryoflora of China and Lewinskya affinis var. bohemica and Orthotrichum schimperi are recorded for the first time from this country. Phytogeography of the Chinese taxa of the orthotrichalean mosses is considered and they are grouped into eight phytogeographical elements and five sub-elements.

Abstract Althogether 17 species of the family Anthomyiidae (Diptera) are recorded from the Czech Republic (or Moravia and Bohemia) (16 species) and Slovakia (1 species) for the first time. The most interesting findings are Delia dovreensis Ringdahl 1954 and northamerican species Pegomyia bifurcata Griffiths 1983.

Viola mandshurica W. Becker and Viola odorata L. belonging to the family Violaceae are reported for the first time from Nepal.
