As digital technologies development continues, as the risk for existing business in all industries increases due to the new innovated, digital-based products and services that are changing market conditions. Digital transformation strategy enables incumbent firms to keep their existence in the digital era. However, firms need first to assess their readiness for digital transformation strategy requirements. The lack of agreed model that explains the process of digital transformation strategy in general and on firm’s readiness for this strategy were enough justifications for the researcher to conduct this study. The researcher fills this gap by proposing new model for digital transformation readiness. The study also examines a mediation role for dynamic capabilities in reconfiguring operational capabilities in a firm so that to enhance its readiness for digital transformation strategy. The findings of this research shall empirically validate the proposed model and it will reveal the role of dynamic capabilities in improving firm’s digital transformation readiness. The research indicates that dynamic capabilities are developed by other organizational capabilities such as culture values and ICT capabilities. It also points to the essential role of dynamic capabilities in adapting operational capabilities for any market change. Organizations shall prepare themselves for digital transformation strategy by focusing on developing capabilities needed for this strategy to reduce the risk of failure. The proposed model can be considered as a significant contribution in the area of the digital transformation strategy. The model in practical wise will help managers to assess their firm’s readiness for digital transformation strategy and fill any gap identified. The proposed model for digital transformation readiness is recommended to be further extended to include more effecting factors including technological and environmental factors.

The purpose of the current study is to examine the mediating role of organizational learning on a firm’s capabilities, corporate governance, leadership styles, and the firm’s sustainability. Moreover, the innovative culture used as a moderating variable between organizational learning and the firm’s sustainability. Data were collected from manufacturing organizations operating in Malaysia. This study used simple random sampling technique in data collection. Cross-sectional design and correlational design were used in meeting the objectives of the research. There were 550 questionnaires distributed among respondents,and only 382 questionnaires were returned back, 15 questionnaires were excluded from the 382 questionnaires because of misleading and missing values. Hence, in the final analysis, only 367 questionnaires were used. Findings reveal that organizational capabilities and corporate governance significantly enhance both organizational learning and a firm’s sustainability. Moreover, leadership styles significantly enhance organizational learning but have no influence on a firm’s sustainability. Organizational learning significantly mediates between organizational capabilities, corporate governance, leadership styles, and the firm’s sustainability. Organizational learning also has a significant influence on the firm’s sustainability. Finally, innovative culture significantly moderates between organizational learning and the firm’s sustainability. The practical contribution of this research is that the top management can focus on these indicators in measuring firm’s sustainability.

The research aimed to explain the pattern of social communication on the issue of rejection of the PLTU Batang development policy. It used data on Twitter accounts involved in the rejection of the PLTU Batang development policy. In analyzing existing data, qualitative methods and social analysis networks were used. To see social networks in the rejection of the PLTU Batang development policy, the research used the NodeXL application to find out the patterns of social communication networks in #TolakPLTUBatang. From the results, it can be seen that in the dissemination of social networking information, the @praditya_wibby account is the most central account in the social network and has a strong influence on the social network. The @praditya_wibby account has a role in moving the community through Twitter to make a critical social movement. This means that in the current digital era, democracy enters a new form through the movement of public opinion delivery through social media. Besides, by encouraging the role of online news, the distribution of information becomes faster to form new perceptions of an issue. This is evident from the correlation network where the @praditya_wibby account has correlations with several compass online media accounts, tirto.id, okezonenews, vice, antaranews, BBCIndonesia, and CNN Indonesia.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of empowerment on the relationship between paternalistic leadership styles such as benevolent, moral, and authoritarian and employee innovative behavior. Design/methodology/approach: The data were collected from 390 employees of manufacturing companies in the Republic of Korea. To assess the validity of hypotheses we used a structural equation modeling procedure. Findings: The findings suggest that empowerment mediates the relationships among moral and authoritarian leadership styles and employee innovative behavior. However, results indicate that employee innovative behavior does not mediate the associations between benevolent leadership style and employee innovative behavior. Originality/value: Our work is the first to investigate the mediating role of empowerment on the link between paternalistic leadership styles such as benevolent, moral, and authoritarian and employee innovative behavior.


It is common knowledge that organizations today face the challenges of growing competition. Therefore, organizations need to develop smarter to plan for several diverse and real-time challenges. The aim of this paper is to test the impact of knowledge management (KM) processes, organizational capabilities (OC), and mediating KM mechanisms and KM technologies toward a smart organization (SO). In this paper, structural equation modeling was applied by using Smart PLS 3.3.3 software to test hypotheses and the accuracy of the suggested model. The results showed a direct impact between all constructs and are a reflection of the SO of the employees (N=225) working in three Jordanian telecommunications companies. Additionally, the outcomes provision the partial mediating role of KM mechanisms and KM technology with OC in the SO. These outcomes can support leaders in generating a consciousness in addition to favorable OC, KM mechanisms, and KM technologies inside the organization, which enables the actual implementation of SO and uses the outcomes to plan their SO strategies.
