Internet users in Indonesia always increase every year. The highest increase occurred in smartphone internet users. The increase was due to a shift in the provision of software from desktop and web to mobile based. Based on these conditions it is necessary to know the process of providing mobile applications to suit users. Provision of mobile applications cannot be separated from the process of software development, especially the development of mobile software. For this reason, in this study a discussion on mobile software development methods consisting of wireless development, mobile application development lifecycle models (MADLC) and mobile development (Mobile-D) was discussed. the three methods of developing mobile wireless development software have the longest working phase, which is eight phases, while the mobile application development lifecycle model (MADLC) has seven phases and mobile development (Mobile-D) has five phases. The choice of mobile software development methods is an important factor in the development process.

Pengembangan perangkat lunak terdapat empat tahapan dengan prosedur SDLC: planning, analysis, design, and implementation.

Development of mobile applications is a very popular trend of today’s informational technologies. Moreover, mapping applications are one of the most popular among all. However, development of mobile applications has some issues while implementing application for multiple mobile platforms and while making it work offline. According to our development experience, it was decided to show main methods of mobile application development, describe advantages and disadvantages of each with respect to mapping functions and application complexity. Special attention was paid to hybrid mobile development technology in order to check out the widespread information about it’s high development speed in compare to “native” and to make sure that it allows to realize easy transferring of existing web application to mobile platform.

Mobile application development is receiving much attention nowadays. With the enhancement of mobile application tools like an Android studio, etc. and kinds of online support, the development of the mobile application is getting easier. Indeed, mobile application development is not a trivial task. When given a particular problem, a novice mobile programmer will commonly sketch the mobile interface followed by coding. The rapid prototyping technique and trial from errors have led to issues such as poor domain understanding. We argue that a complete understanding of the domain is needed for mobile application development. Hence, requirements engineering is an important phase. This paper introduces a technique to assist mobile application development through Agent-Oriented Requirements Engineering (AORE). AORE consists of goal modelling to analyse and understand a mobile-based project. With goal modelling, AORE allows a modeller to identify and analyse the functionalities and non-functionalities of the system and present a holistic view of the proposed system. It showcases the services, operations and constraints of the proposed system. AORE is a useful part of the development phase and can complement current steps in mobile application development lifecycle.

This chapter presents the use of Composite Application Software Development Process Framework (CASDPF) for Mobile Applications Development. This framework for software development, as its name suggests, is made up of the waterfall, iterative, and agile approaches to software development. There is a need to apply such a framework in developing mobile applications. The chapter explains and provides details on what comprises a CASDPF and how it can be used to develop a mobile application.

The number of users of smart mobile devices is growing every day. Because of the popularity of using mobile devices, it is important for business stakeholders to develop mobile applications targeting all mobile platforms in order to ensure that the number of users is as large as possible. One possible solution is the creation of hybrid mobile applications. These are applications that combine the properties of web and native mobile applications, and their main advantage is compatibility with multiple mobile operating systems. This paper presents the results of very comprehensive experiments that involved the use of various hybrid mobile development frameworks that were tested under different scenarios. Experiments revealed that the performance of hybrid applications in different scenarios varies considerably, although the results of these applications were comparable to those that were achieved in the experiment with the native application.
