Abstract: Information technology is growing rapidly has an impact on changing paradigms and ways of working that are widely applied by most organizations today. As a company engaged in the plywood industry, PT. Sumalindo Lestari Jaya, Tbk has and employs thousands of employees in it. It has problems related to human resource development, but so far the management is still conventional. The problems that occur start from participant registration, participant selection and monitoring, participant tracking, placement of work positions according to employee competency and expertise, untidy filing systems, activity evaluation, to the distribution of training allocations per section and per employee. This is what makes the researcher interested in doing this study. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) in the form of software design that produces Information Systems as a tool in managing training. The result of this research is a Training Information System software which is used to assist the management of education and training activities starting from participant selection activities, activity scheduling, implementation administrative governance, budget planning and financing, to evaluation and reporting activities. System testing and implementation was carried out on 20 training participants by comparing the results before and after the system was implemented. Based on comparative data on management patterns before and after using the system, it can be concluded that the Training Information System can increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing training activities. Keywords​: ​​Information Systems, Research and Development, Training   Abstrak: Teknologi informasi yang berkembang pesat berdampak pada perubahan paradigma dan cara kerja yang banyak diterapkan oleh sebagain besar organisasi dewasa ini. Sebagai perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri kayu lapis PT. Sumalindo Lestari Jaya, Tbk. memiliki dan mempekerjakan ribuan karyawan didalamnya memiliki problematika terkait pengembangan sumber daya manusia, namun sejauh ini pengelolaannya masih konvensional. Permasalahan yang terjadi dimulai dari pendaftaran peserta, seleksi dan monitoring peserta, pelacakan peserta, penempatan posisi kerja sesuai bidang kompetensi dan keahlian karyawan, sistem filing yang kurang rapi, evaluasi kegiatan, sampai dengan masalah distribusi alokasi training per bagian dan per karyawan. Hal inilah yang melatar belakangi penelitian ini menarik untuk dilakukan. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dalam bentuk rancangan software yang menghasilkan Sistem Informasi sebagai alat bantu dalam mengelola training. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah perangkat lunak Sistem Informasi Training yang digunakan dalam membantu pengelolaan kegiatan pendidikan dan pelatihan mulai dari kegiatan seleksi calon peserta, penjadwalan kegiatan, tata kelola administrasi pelaksanaan, perencanaan anggaran dan pembiayaan, sampai dengan evaluasi dan kegiatan pelaporan. Uji coba dan implementasi sistem dilakukan pada 20 peserta training dengan membandingkan hasil sebelum dan setelah diterapkan sistem. Berdasarkan data perbandingan pola pengelolaan sebelum dan setelah menggunakan sistem dapat disimpulkan bahwa Sistem Informasi Training dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektifitas dalam mengelola kegiatan training. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of academic information systems in improving the quality of higher education implementation in PGRI STKIP Bangkalan, and the extent to which the policies of implementing higher education before and after the use of information systems and how satisfaction is felt by students towards academic information systems at STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, named STKIP PGRI Bangkalan’s Siakad.The study was conducted by conducting a survey of users of the internet-based academic information system (Siakad STKIP PGRI Bangkalan), namely lecturers, students and employees with the method of observation and conducting in-depth interviews to obtain as much information as possible from all respondents/informants. The number of informants was 5 people consisting of the chairman of STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, Vice Chairman I, Head of BAAK and two students who had experience in their respective fields of work, knew deeply and had many roles in the process of using information systems.Based on the results of the study, it was shown that with the use of the information system/ STKIP PGRI Bangkalan’s Siakad which is one of the facilities for the smooth activities of the teaching and learning process, it proved to provide convenience, many benefits and benefits that greatly support the duties of serving lecturers, students and outsiders requiring. This is evidenced by the support of the support of lecturers and students, capacity, namely the ability of employees to process data and value, namely the benefits felt by lecturers, employees and students as well as outside parties in need.

After almost 30 years of being used in the information system (IS) discipline, only a few studies have focused on how IS scholars apply the method's guidelines to design Delphi studies. Thus, this paper focuses on the use of the Delphi method in IS research. To do so, articles published between 2004 and 2017 in the Senior IS Scholars' collection of journals of the Association of Information Systems (AIS), describing Delphi studies, were analised. Based on analysis of sixteen (16) retrieved IS studies, we concluded that IS researchers have applied the method’s most important phases and the procedural recommendations to promote rigor were considered in the majority of the analised studies. Nonetheless, IS researchers still need to include detailed information about (1) the steps taken to ensure the validity of the achieved results, (2) better describe the process of selecting and recruiting the experts, and (3) experiment with innovative techniques to keep participants involved in the Delphi process.

Information systems research has clearly recognized that knowledge management systems (KMSs) have different characteristics and requirements than those of a classic management information system (MIS). Beginning with the relationship drawn between data, information, and knowledge (Alavi & Leidner, 1999, 2001; Bhatt, 2001; Ulrich, 2001; Spiegler, 2000, 2003; Tuomi, 2000), through to the essential nature of unstructured and semi-structured information vs. structured information (Wu, Ling, Lee, & Dobbie, 2001; Lai, Carlsen, Christiansson, & Svidt, 2003; Fensel et al., 2002; Chou & Chow, 2000), there are many elements and areas in which the two diverge.

Building an information system is a difficult task, partly due to the problem of ascertaining the requirements of the intended users, but also because of the complexity of the large number of human-machine interactions (Banville, 1991). This complexity is reflected in the difficulty of building these systems to operate free from error and to perform as intended. The dictionary defines innovation as “the alteration of what is established; something newly introduced”. As the introduction or improvement of an information system in an organisation necessarily involves change, information systems research often involves research into technological innovation.

Even though information systems is a maturing research area, information systems case study reports generally lack extensive method descriptions, validity defense, and are rarely conducted within a multicase research project. This reduces the ability to build theory in information systems research using case study reports. In this chapter we offer guidelines, examples, and improvements for multicase studies. If information system researchers stick to these guidelines, case study reports and papers will get published more often, improving the rapidly maturing research area of information systems.

This research and development was conducted to produce exercise model of softball batting based on drill for beginner athletes by testing the effectiveness of softball batting training for beginner athletes. The development method used took the steps of Borg and Gall. To support data to be more valid, the process of analyzing data collection used observation, interviews, and tests. The batting exercise model was designed by combining drill-based training activities. After that the model item design was validated by 3 experts in their field, 1 softball lecturer, 1 softball coach, and 1 motor expert. The study involved 20 athletes consisting of 3 softball clubs in Medan. Increasing battingsoftball training during the pre-test showed t-count = -21,225, df = 19 and p-value = 0,00 <0,05, meaning that there were significant differences in softball batting training model before and after being given a training model. It could be concluded that the model of training developed effectively to enhance batting exercises developed was effective for enhancing batting exercises for beginner athletes.

Abstract. Library has one of important resources to obtain information for research needs. The quality of a library information system needs to improve promptly because the information is needed quickly and accurately. In order to present library catalogue data that can be integrated with all central and local libraries, the library information system of Research and Development of the Human Resources Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Balitbang SDM Kominfo) needs to be well developed. The aim of this research is to design a prototype of library information system in order to present library data from central and local libraries accurately. Simulation tests are performed in eight research centers in the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. The test is performed to analyze the perception of the users about the effectiveness of the system. The results show that the central library and information systems have good quality. Keywords: central library, local library, prototype, information system Abstrak. Perpustakaan merupakan sarana untuk mendapatkan literasi informasi melalui hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Peningkatan kualitas layanan sistem informasi perpustakaan yang tersaji dengan cepat, akurat dan aktual mutlak diperlukan. Untuk itu dipandang perlu suatu perbaikan sistem perpustakaan Balitbang SDM Kominfo agar dapat menyajikan data perpustakaan yang dapat terintegrasi antara perpustakaan pusat dan perpustakaan daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang prototipe suatu sistem informasi perpustakaan pusat dan daerah agar data perpustakaan pusat dan daerah dapat tersaji dengan cepat dan akurat. Pengujian dilakukan dengan simulasi sistem di delapan balai Kominfo. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi administrator pusat dan administrator daerah mengenai efektivitas sistem. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi perpustakaan pusat dan daerah memiliki kualitas yang baik. Kata Kunci: perpustakaan daerah, perpustakaan pusat, prototipe, sistem informasi
