Amelogenesis imperfecta is a structural-developmental defect involving enamel. It may be hypoplastic, hypomaturation, or hypocalcified. Genetic mutation of enamel coding proteins noted in this heterogeneous group of hereditary disorder affecting both primary and permanent dentitions. Clinically the affected teeth depict discolouration, prone to disintegration and sensitivity. Radiological evaluation revealed very thin or absent of the enamel layer. Here, I am presenting a case report of amelogenesis imperfecta affecting a 19 year old, otherwise healthy, female patient. Key Words: Amelogenesis imperfecta, enamel, hypoplastic, Genetic mutation.

Ectodermal dysplasia is a heterogeneous group of inherited disorder affecting two or more ectodermally derived tissues such as skin, hair, nails, eccrine glands and teeth. The disorder is of two types: Hypohydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/Christ seimens –Touraine syndrome and Hydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/clousten syndrome. Commonly associated signs include hypohidrosis, anomalous dentition, onychodysplasia, hypotrichosis. Multidisciplinary approaches are required for optimal treatment3. Here, we present two cases of 19 and 13 year old male siblings who were diagnosed with the disorder based upon their clinical features. Key Words: ectodermal dysplasia, hypodontia; anomalous dentition.

Klinikinis atvejis Pacientė buvo hospitalizuota įtarus ūminį apendicitą. Diagnozė buvo neaiški, todėl ligonė stebėta. Vystantis peritonitui ligonė operuota. Atlikta vidurinė viršutinė laparotomija. Operacijos metu rasta apsisukusi ant pasaitėlio tulžies pūslė, turinti gangrenos požymių. Tulžies pūslės latakas nepakitęs. Tulžies pūslė pašalinta, jos pasaitėlis susiūtas, drenuotas dešinysis pašonkaulis. Laikotarpis po operacijos buvo sklandus. Atlikus pašalintos tulžies pūslės patologinį histologinį tyrimą, nustatytas tulžies pūslės sienos kraujotakos sutrikimas. Išvada Nepaisant sunkiai diagnozuojamos ir retai pasitaikančios ligos, ryžtingas ir laiku pasirinktas operacinis gydymas padėjo ligonei sėkmingai išgyti. Reikšminiai žodžiai: tulžies pūslės apsisukimas, cholecistektomija Gallbladder volvulus Kazys Katilius, Tomas Vaitoška, Agnė Vaitoškaitė.Vilnius University Emergency Hospital, Šiltnamių 29, LT-04130 Vilnius, LithuaniaE-mail: [email protected] Background A case report presents a patient with a rare surgical pathology – gallbladder volvulus. Case report A female patient presented at the hospital under suspicion of appendicitis. Because of undefined diagnosis the patient was examined. The progress of peritonitis determined her preoperational preparation and surgical intervention. The gallbladder twisted around its axis and gangrened was found during the procedure. The bile duct was found unaltered. Cholecystectomy was performed and the gallbladder pedicle was stitched and the subhepatic gap drenated. The postoperative course was uneventful. Pathistological examination showed acute hemorrhagic infarct in the gallbladder wall. Conclusion Despite an uncommon pathology hard for diagnoses, timely operative intervention provided for the convalescence of the patient. Key words: gallbladder volvulus, cholecystectomy

Otosclerosis is a term derived from oto, meaning“of the ear,”and sclerosis, meaning“abnormal hardening of body tissue.”The condition is caused by abnormal bone remodeling in the middle ear. Bone remodeling is a lifelong process in which bone tissue renews itself by replacing old tissue with new. In otosclerosis, abnormal remodeling disrupts the ability of sound to travel from the middle ear to the inner ear. A Hindu, married 50 yr old Female patient visited the outpatient department of Institute with complaint of Diminished of hearing in both ear (Left ear > Right ear), Ringing sensation in both ear & Blocking of both ear. The patient was diagnosed as case of Otosclerosis with clinical findings & Investigations done. Tablet Lakshadi guggulu 2TDS(each250mg), Tablet Amarsundari Vati2TDS(each250mg),Powder combination of Aamalaki churna (1gm)+ AshwagandhaChurna(1gm)+PunarnavaChurna(500mg)+JatamansiChurna(500mg)+Sunhi churna(250mg)+ Godanti churna (250mg) And Syp Dashmooladi Kwath10ml TDS were administered for 6 months. After the 6 months treatment ,a significant response in various symptoms such as Diminished of hearing, Ringing sensation & Blocking of ear was found.   Key words- Otosclerosis, Hearing loss, Diminished of hearing,Audiometry, tinnitus, Badhirya

A rare case of urinary bladder leiomyoma in a female patient is presented here. A quarter of these cases are asymptomatic only to be diagnosed by ultrasonography. Symptomatic cases are also misleading as in this case. Laparotomy, removal of mass and ultimately histopathology proved the case to be that of a urinary bladder leiomyoma. Ibrahim Med. Coll. J. 2008; 2(2): 70-71 Key Words: Urinary bladder leiomyoma, laparotomy, excision biopsy doi: 10.3329/imcj.v2i2.2943

Fingers as organs of manipulation have an important role in function and aesthetics. Injuries to the fingers are common in accidents at home, work, and play or due to congenital and developmental defect. Irrespective of the aetiology, the loss of a finger has a considerable functional and psychological impact on an individual. In order to alleviate these problems, partial or complete finger prosthesis can be fabricated. This clinical report presents a method to fabricate finger prosthesis using digital photograph, poly methylemethacrylate acrylic and soft liner for a patient who has a partial finger loss caused due to trauma. Key words: Acrylic,Digital photograph,Finger, Soft liner

Abstract Aim This clinical report describes the oral rehabilitation of a young female patient diagnosed with the hypocalcified, autosomal recessive type of Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI). A brief discussion on diagnosis of AI is also included. Background AI has been defined as a group of hereditary enamel defects not associated with evidence of systemic disease. It can be characterized by enamel hypoplasia and/or hypomaturation or hypocalcification of the existing teeth. Restoration for patients with this condition should be oriented toward the functional and esthetic rehabilitation and the protection of these teeth. Report A 31-year-old female patient presented with concerns including extreme sensitivity; dissatisfaction with size, shape, and shade of teeth; and poor masticatory efficiency. She was very conscious about the appearance of her teeth and reported that her primary dentition was affected in the same manner. The specific objectives of this treatment were to eliminate tooth sensitivity, enhance esthetics, and restore masticatory function. Treatment included crown lengthening procedures and placement of anterior and posterior metalceramic crowns. A 12-month follow-up with clinical and radiographic examinations revealed no evidence of any untoward effects of the treatment on the restored teeth or their supporting structures. Summary Management of a patient with AI is a challenge for the clinician. The treatment options vary considerably depending on several factors such as the age of the patient, socio-economic status, periodontal condition, loss of tooth structure, severity of the disorder, and, most importantly, the patient's cooperation. The clinician has to consider the long-term prognosis of the treatment outcome. This clinical report describes the fabrication of metal ceramic and all metal crowns for the restoration of severely worn teeth in a patient with AI which requires meticulous maintenance of oral hygiene and patient co-operation. Porokeratosis is a disorder of epidermal keratinization characterized by annular plaques with an atrophic center and hyperkeratotic edges, and includes a heterogeneous group of disorders that are mostly inherited in an autosomal dominant form. This report describes a 5 year-old female patient, with porokeratosis of Mibelli confirmed histopathologically. The rarity of this disorder, its clinical exuberance and the destructive character of the lesions, as well as the facial and mucosal involvements, unusual in this form of porokeratosis, and also its onset in early childhood motivated this report.

The purpose of this article was to present a case report of 11–year old female patient with a large osteolytic mandibular lesion which healed after endodontic treatment. The patient was referred for radio diagnostics due to an incidental finding of a large osteolytic lesion of the area of the left lower first and second premolars in the panoramic radiograph taken before orthodontic treatment. CBCT was performed and the patient asked to have teeth 33-35 treated by endodontics before surgery. The patient missed the surgical appointment and when she reappeared several months later, the lesion showed signs of healing thus surgery were aborted. The presented case testifies to the observation that even large osteolytic lesions can heal after endodontic treatment without surgical approach.
