BackgroundCOVID-19 break out has created panic and fear in society. A strict kind of lockdown was imposed in Wuhan, Hubei province of China. During home confinement due to lockdown, people face multidimensional issues. The present study explored the psychological impacts of COVID-19 home confinement during the lockdown period and Wuhan’s residents’ attitude toward physical activity.MethodsA cross-sectional online survey was conducted to collect the primary data according to the study objectives. The population was Wuhan residents (+ 18 years) who were in home confinement. A total of 2280 participant’s reply to the online questionnaire survey and collected data after quantifying the data, about 2200 (96.49%); about (49.8%) female, about (49.4%) male, others about (0.2%), and about (0.6%) were not disclosed their gender participants responses were used for analysis. The collected data were analyzed through appropriate statistical techniques.ResultsAccording to results, H1 is supported with β = −40.793, t = 57.835, p = 0.000, which claimed a negative association between COVID-19 lockdown policy and behavior and attitude. Results for H2 reveals that the COVID-19 lockdown policy have negative influence on emotional control with β = −0.769, t = 46.766, p = 0.000 and it is supported. H3 documented a significant positive relationship between COVID-19 lockdown policy and lockdown period psychological impact, which means lockdown policy, is the main reason to increase the lockdown psychological impact. Further, COVID-19 lockdown policy have negative influence on physical activity (H4) and self-belief (H5) with β = −0.657, t = 32.766, p = 0.000 and β = −0.620, t = −6.766, p = 0.000 respectively. H6 stated that there is a positive impact of behavior and attitude toward physical activity. Nowadays the practice of spreading and utilizing eWOM increasingly prevalent. A lot of examination on eWOM effectiveness has been done, but it is still fragmented and overlook the potential of Visual eWom (VeWOM). Departing from the electronic word-of-mouth communication framework this research attempts to provide empirical evidence on the eWOM credibility-forming aspect and its implications toward eWOM adoption rate in the context of VeWOM video "unboxing". This research was conducted by a descriptive-explanatory approach using primary data, collected through a cross-sectional online survey. The hypothesis testing is performed by analyzing structural model estimation result through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach on 105 sample data of YouTube video-sharing site viewers. The proposed structural model involves three exogenous variables and three endogenous variables. The estimation results of the structural model indicate that VeWOM argument quality has a positive impact on VeWOM usefulness. Meanwhile, communicator expertise and trustworthiness proved to encourage the formation of VeWOM credibility. On the other hand, this study also proved the positive impact of VeWOM credibility on VeWOM adoption, however, the positive effect of VeWOM usefulness on VeWOM adoption was not proven in this study

This study aims to investigate factors influencing the formation of consumers' initial trust in m-payments in a developing country such as India. Despite being considered a significant pre-adoption factor, initial trust in m-payments has remained underexplored. To fulfill this research gap, a cross-sectional survey of 1,087 respondents has been conducted, and the analysis has been done using factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Results indicate that consumers' awareness about m-payments and perceived integrity of mobile service providers positively influence initial trust, whereas perceived risks have a significant negative influence, and perceived opportunism of service provider has a marginally significant influence on the formation of initial trust. The findings will be helpful to the m-payment vendors, mobile network operators, and technology providers to enhance trust-building mechanisms in mobile payment systems that can have a positive impact on the adoption and usage of m-payments.

This study aimed to examine the factors driving the establishment of user satisfaction on the campus website. The study focused on two exogenous constructs, namely website quality as the external aspects and the MOA framework (especially motivation and ability) as the internal aspects for users of the campus website. The study also tried to examine the dual implications of user satisfaction, toward the intention to revisit on one side, also toward attitude and word-of-mouth intention on the campuses itself on the other side. This study was conducted using descriptive research design approach. A total of 210 cross-sectional data collected through an offline and online survey on student sample of state and private universities in the JABODETABEK area. Data analysis and hypothesis testing was executed using Structural Equation Model. The analysis of empirical data indicates a positive impact of website quality on user satisfaction. Furthermore, user satisfaction proven to give positive implications toward revisit intention on the one hand, and the attitude toward the brand on the other side, which in turn encourages word-of-mouth intention. Meanwhile, opposite findings on the effect of the MOA framework on user satisfaction, it gives a new insight that amplify the urgency of the implementation of campus website by higher education providers.

Objective: The aim of this study was to identify broad overarching feeding styles that parents may use and their effects on pre-school-aged children’s healthy and unhealthy snack intake. Design: Cross sectional study Methods: Mothers ( n = 611) of children aged 2–7 years (mean age 3.9 years) completed an online survey assessing parent-feeding strategies and parent-reported child snack intake. Data were analysed in two phases. First, principal components analysis identified three major feeding styles that were labelled overt control, covert control and parent modelling. Then, structural equation modelling was used to see whether these factors were related differentially to reported child snack intake. Results: The intake of healthy snack food was associated with higher covert control and parent modelling and lower overt control. The reverse was true for unhealthy snack intake, with the intake of these foods associated with lower covert control and parental modelling, and higher overt control. Conclusion: Our findings show that parent-feeding styles that attempt to control the child’s environment seem to have a positive impact on snack intake, while styles aimed at controlling the child (overt control) seem to have a detrimental impact.

Abstract This paper aims to investigate the impact of dynamic capabilities constructs i.e. sensing capability, learning capability, and reconfiguration capability on organizational effectiveness in the selected Iraqi public universities context. This study adopted the survey method to collect primary data. An online questionnaire was distributed to around 342 employees, out of which 215 completed questionnaires were obtained. The data were collected during the period from 02-08-2018 to 03-10-2018. The reliability and validity of the dimensions are assessed through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and the hypotheses are tested by using structural equation modeling SEM. The analytical results indicate that sensing capability does not have a positive impact on organizational effectiveness while learning capability and reconfiguration capability have a positive impact on organizational effectiveness. Thus, this study provides a better understanding of the effects of dynamic capabilities. The results of this study have the potential to help the decision-makers of universities to develop learning capability and reconfiguration capability, in turn, universities will be able to achieve superior organizational effectiveness.

Objective: The specialised literature indicates that the two key aspects in active ageing are performing physical activity and life satisfaction. Regarding physical activity, this not only improves physical aspects of senior citizens, but also has a positive impact on mental well-being and satisfaction with one’s own life. The aim is to demonstrate the relationship between these two variables to explain healthy ageing.Method: In a sample of 300 senior citizen subjects, the influence of various sociodemographic variables (age, sex, institutionalisation, and level of education) on the performance of physical activity and life satisfaction, is analysed. The research design is a non-experimental study with two unique cross-sectional and correlational measurement groups. Results: An analysis of the results indicates that people with a higher level of education present differences in physical and motivational reserves. Furthermore, age and institutionalisation have an impact on physical reserves. Analysis using structural equation models allows key relationships between the variables analysed to be predicted, which can guide the implementation of active ageing. Conclusion: Motivational reserves affect healthy cognitive ageing through their positive impact on cognitive and physical reserves.

The aim of this article is from the concept of distinctive capacity, to highlight the importance of the system of distinctive capabilities in the overall, non-financial and financial performance of Portuguese fitness academies and gyms. As a secondary objective, the influence of the "adaptation" dimension on the system of distinctive capabilities. We develop and test hypotheses as to how adaptation impacts the distinctive capabilities system, and how this system impacts global performance, non-financial performance and financial performance. This study adopted a cross-sectional survey method to collect primary data. An online questionnaire was distributed to around 978 fitness gyms professionals, out of which 68 completed questionnaires were obtained. The hypotheses are tested by using partial least squares-path modelling. BACKGROUND This study primarily aimed to evaluate the associations between mental distress and COVID-19-related changes in behavioral outcomes, and potential modifiers (age, gender, and educational attainment) of such associations. OBJECTIVE The COVID -19 pandemic has led to elevated levels of mental distress attributed to prolonged lockdowns, business closures, and social isolation. Its impact on behavioral outcomes is however less known. This study is designed to primarily evaluate the associations between mental distress and COVID-19-related changes in drinking, smoking, physical activity and body weight, and potential modifiers of such associations including age, gender, and educational attainment. METHODS An online survey using anonymous network sampling was conducted in China during April-May, 2020 using a 74-item questionnaire distributed through social media. A national sample of 10,545 adults in 31 provinces provided data on socio-demographic characteristics, COVID-19-related mental distress, and changes in behavioral outcomes. Structural equation models were used for data analyses. RESULTS About 13% of adults reported experiencing at least one symptom of mental distress. After adjusting for age, education, gender, ethnicity, marital status, residence, and number of chronic conditions, greater mental distress was associated with increased smoking and alcohol consumption (among current smokers and drinkers) and with both increased and decreased physical activity. Underweight adults were more likely to lose body weight (≥1 kg) whereas overweight adults were more likely to gain weight by the same amount. The association between mental distress and change in physical activity was stronger in adults aged 40 and above and those with high education. Mental distress was significantly associated with an increase in smoking in males but not females. CONCLUSIONS Mental distress was associated with increased smoking in males but not females. These findings inform the design of tailored public health interventions aimed to mitigate long-term negative consequences of mental distress on outcomes.
