Currently, the treatment of musicians is an interprofessional approach. Playing-related health complaints may impact the performance of a musician. In Germany, a medical consulting hour for musicians exists, but those for athletes in sports medicine are not so common. The diagnosing and treatment procedure within the physiotherapy consultation for musicians follows a specific concept-b and requires knowledge of instruments and musician-specific complaints. Based on the consulting hour in a clinic in Osnabrueck, 614 case reports were part of this sample, of which 558 data sets were complete. The focus of the analysis is the instrument and the primary complaint. Also, the type of therapy is characterized, and the amount is calculated. Primary complaints of musicians, in general, are found most frequently in the spine and upper extremity. Musician complaints are different between instruments. Instrumentalists have a significantly higher chance to suffer from a primary complaint in the area of the upper extremity. Furthermore, the groups without an instrument (e.g., singing or dancing) are developing complaints in the anatomical area which they primarily use. Therefore, these types of therapy were used: physiotherapy, manual therapy, and osteopathy with an average of 5.9 treatment units. This study underpinned the importance of musician-specific physiotherapy as a profession to treat musicians. Also, an interdisciplinary approach is necessary to treat all aspects of complaints.

The demand for esthetic dentistry is ever increasing. A beautiful smile is considered as a symbol of health and vitality is now looked upon as a status symbol. Discoloration of the front tooth may severely affect the confidence of the patient. The use of dental implant presents a conservative and esthetic method of replacing missing teeth. Bleaching is recommended as a minimal invasive and cost effective approach to change the color of the teeth. This paper is on analyzing the feasibility of AI studies and the involvement of AI in COVID interrelated treatments. In all, several procedures were reviewed and studied. It was on point. The best-analyzing methods on the studies were Susceptible Infected Recovered and Susceptible Exposed Infected Removed respectively. Whereas the implementation of AI is mostly done in X-rays and CT- Scans with the help of a Convolutional Neural Network. To accomplish the paper several data sets are used. They include medical and case reports, medical strategies, and persons respectively. Approaches are being done through shared statistical analysis based on these reports. Considerably the acceptance COVID is being shared and it is also reachable. Furthermore, much regulation is needed for handling this pandemic since it is a threat to global society. And many more discoveries shall be made in the medical field that uses AI as a primary key source.

Teeth eruption disturbances are very important in everyday orthodontic praxis because those are the most common causes of the orofacial system deviations. The aim of this study was to show two clinical cases with teeth eruption failures and to explain possible causes and potential therapy. Two clinical cases of tooth ankylosis are described as well as complete plan and treatment procedure. Even the irregularities in tooth development were very complex, it was shown that in cases which go beyond the possibilities of bone remodelling, stable results, functional and aesthetic, may be achieved.

BACKGROUND BrightArm Compact is a new rehabilitation system for upper extremities. It provides bimanual training with gradated gravity loading and mediates interactions with serious games. OBJECTIVE To design and test a robotic rehabilitation table-based virtual rehabilitation system for training upper extremities early post-stroke. METHODS A new robotic rehabilitation table, controllers and adaptive games were developed. Participants underwent 12 experimental sessions in addition to the standard of care. Standardized measures of upper extremity motor impairment and function, depression severity, and cognitive function were administered pre- and post-intervention. Non-standardized measures included game variables and subjective evaluations. RESULTS Two case study participants attained high total arm repetitions per session (504 and 957, respectively), and achieved high grasp and finger extension counts. Training intensity contributed to marked improvements in affected arm shoulder strength (225% and 100%, respectively), grasp strength (27% and 16% increase), 3-finger pinch strength (31% and 15% increase). Shoulder active flexion range increased 17% and 18%, respectively, and elbow active supination was larger by 75% and 58%, respectively. Improvements in motor function were at/above Minimal Clinically Important Difference for Fugl-Meyer Assessment (11 and 10 points), Chedoke Inventory (11 and 14 points) and Upper Extremity Functional Index (19 and 23 points). Cognitive/emotive outcomes were mixed. CONCLUSIONS The design of the robotic rehabilitation table was successfully tested on two participants early post-stroke. Results are encouraging. There are many musicians with acquired limitations in making music, and there are many people with a disability who would like to play a music instrument in a modified way. There is discouragingly little information about this topic in literature. This article gives an overview of “making music in a modified way.” It focuses on the possibilities for musicians with one-handed functionality to overcome problems with regards to their physical condition, insufficient muscle strength, or missing parts of the upper extremity. Five categories of possibilities for the functional one-handed musicians are described: 1) one-hand reconstructed instruments, 2) one-hand compositions, 3) adaptations of the instrument for the other hand, 4) prostheses to make it possible to play with both hands/arms, and 5) other techniques which enable the use of the leg(s). The solutions described make clear that playing music in an adaptive way requires an interdisciplinary approach. The purpose of this article is to inform, and to inspire, the healthcare professional about the many possibilities for functional one-handed musicians.

The biologic width is a specific concept that refers to the dimensional relationship between epithelial attachment, sulcus depth, connective tissue attachment, and alveolar crest. A harmony and precise relationship between periodontal tissue and the restoration of the teeth is fundamental to ensure function and esthetic. Biologic width includes both the connective tissue attachment and the junctional epithelium and has a mean dimension of approximately 2 mm. Violation of biologic width can result in localized crestal bone loss, gingival recession, localized gingival hyperplasia, or a combination of these three. Maintenance of gingival health is one of the keys to the longevity of both the teeth and restorations. A clinical crown lengthening procedure is needed to establish the biologic width, in a condition where a restored tooth developed a subgingival caries, fractured below the gingival attachment or failed crown restoration. This article presents a case reports and review that utilized gingivectomy procedures to corrected the complications because of the violation of biologic width.

Background: The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) is a powerful set of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) that are gaining popularity throughout orthopaedic surgery. The use of both adult and pediatric PROMIS questionnaires in orthopaedic sports medicine limits the value of the PROMIS in routine sports medicine clinical care, research, and quality improvement. Because orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons see patients across a wide age range, simplifying the collection of PROMIS computer adaptive tests (CATs) to a single set of questionnaires, regardless of age, is of notable value. Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose was to determine the strength of the correlation between the pediatric and adult PROMIS questionnaires. We hypothesized that there would be a high correlation between the adult and pediatric versions for each PROMIS domain, thereby justifying the use of only the adult version for most sports medicine providers, regardless of patient age. Study Design: Cohort study (Diagnosis); Level of evidence, 2. Methods: Between December 2018 and December 2019, all pediatric sports medicine patients presenting to a single, academic, orthopaedic sports medicine clinic were asked to participate in the present study with their parents’ consent. Patients were asked to complete a set of adult PROMIS domains (Physical Function and/or Upper Extremity, Pain Interference, and Depression) as well as a set of pediatric PROMIS domains (Mobility and/or Upper Extremity, Pain Interference, and Depressive Symptoms). Concurrent validity was assessed using Pearson correlation coefficients ( r). Ceiling and floor effects were determined. Results: A total of 188 patients met our inclusion criteria. The correlation between the adult and pediatric PROMIS Upper Extremity, Physical Function and Mobility, Pain Interference, and Depression and Depressive Symptoms forms were high-moderate ( r = 0.68; P < .01), high-moderate ( r = 0.69; P < .01), high ( r = 0.78; P < .01), and high ( r = 0.85; P < .01), respectively. Both adult and pediatric depression-related PROMIS domains demonstrated notable floor effects (adult: 38%; pediatric: 24%). The pediatric PROMIS Upper Extremity domain demonstrated a ceiling effect (20%). Conclusion: Adult PROMIS CATs may be used in an orthopaedic sports medicine clinic for both adult and pediatric patients. Our findings will help decrease the amount of resources needed for the implementation and use of PROMs for patient care, research, and quality improvement in orthopaedic sports medicine clinics.

Acupuncture is one of the representative complementary and alternative medicine treatments used for various types of pain. This systematic review summarized and analyzed clinical case reports/series utilizing acupuncture for treating sports injuries in athletes, thereby providing the basis for further research to establish clinical evidence on acupuncture treatment in sports medicine. A comprehensive literature search was conducted in Embase including MEDLINE up to 21 August 2019 without language and publication date restrictions. Due to the heterogeneity of each study, explanatory and descriptive analyses were performed. As a result, in each case report/series, it was confirmed that acupuncture was applied for treating various types of sports injuries experienced by athletes. Acupuncture can help relieve short-term pain and recover from dysfunction and has been used as a useful, noninvasive, and conservative modality for managing sports injuries such as lateral meniscus rupture, femoral acetabular impingement, ganglion cysts, and sports hernia. In addition, acupuncture has been suggested as a treatment worth trying for diseases such as yips and delayed onset muscle soreness. The included cases showed some potential of acupuncture in the treatment of various types of sports injuries, beyond pain control in musculoskeletal disorders. However, considering that this review was based on case reports/series, a limited understanding of the clinical value of acupuncture in athletes is required. In the future, more specific research questions and hypotheses should be addressed to generate evidence based on experimental research.
