The flexibility of markets and international agreements have lured a growing number of companies to expand their business beyond frontiers in search for new markets and a bigger business network. Specifically, expatriates became keystones to implant and promote the so desired expansion into international markets, Particularly, Fly-in fly-out (FIFO) flexpatriates. Although FIFO work practices are widely used, little is known about how to promote these professionals’ perceived job satisfaction (JS) across the course of their work cycles. That is why the goal of our research is to test the positive psychological capital (PsyCap) applicability to Portuguese FIFO flexpatriates. In the midst of the positive psychology theories, Luthans et al. (2007b) underline that workers are the psychological capital of any organization. Therefore, the development of the PsyCap becomes crucial and also contributes to the promotion of JS, nowadays a construct intertwined with well-being. As such, we developed and applied a HERO–(hope, self-efficacy, resilience, and optimism)–micro-intervention in order to assess whether it moderated the relationship between a FIFO flexpatriates PsyCap and their JS. The research took place over three distinct moments, both PsyCap and JS were measured before and after the HERO micro-intervention, and again 3 months later. The data collected shows that a positive correlation exists between FIFO flexpatriates PsyCap and JS. Moreover, our results pointed out that the micro-intervention enhanced FIFO flexpatriates PsyCap, and also showed that this increase lasted over (at least) 3 months.

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between psychological capital, psychological well-being and job satisfaction of teachers. The research is a descriptive study in relational screening model. The research model includes three variables; one independent variable (psychological capital) and other two dependent variables (job satisfaction and psychological well-being). In the structural model, job satisfaction variable may also be expressed as mediator variable. The study population consists of 12714 teachers working in official secondary schools in seven central districts in Ankara Province in 2017-2018 academic year. Sample of the population is selected by multi-stage sampling method. Stratified sampling method is used in the first stage and simple random sampling method is used in the second stage. Sample size is calculated as at least 384 teachers. In the research, Psychological Capital Scale developed by Luthans, Youssef & Avolio (2007b); Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire developed by Weiss, Dawis, Lofquist & England (1967) and Psychological Well-Being Scale developed by Ryff (1989) were used as data collection tools. Scales which are pre-implemented within the scope of the research yielded valid and reliable results. Data analysis was done with SPSS 23.0 and LISREL 8.87 statistics software packages. According to the results obtained from the research, it was determined that teachers’ psychological capital perception was “good” and their job satisfaction and psychological well-being are “high”. According to the results of the analysis by means of structural equality modelling, it was determined that teachers’ psychological capital perception affects their job satisfaction and psychological well-being levels positively and predicts them significantly; and it was also determined that job satisfaction has a partial mediator role in the relationship between teachers’ psychological capital perception and their psychological well-being.

A growing body of empirical evidence has shown that although social support (SS) can predict subjective well-being (SWB), the relationship between SS and SWB is still unclear. In this study we investigated the role that positive psychological capital (PPC) plays in the relationship between SS and SWB. The results showed that PPC, SS, and SWB were positively related. The more important result, however, was that PPC mediated the relationship between SS and SWB. The findings are discussed in the context of the importance of PPC for SWB. Limitations in this study and implications for future research are identified.

Purpose – This paper aims to explain the relationships among employees’ positive psychological capital (PPC) (hope, self-efficacy, resilience and optimism), job satisfaction (JS) and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) in deluxe hotels. This study also seeks to analyze the effect of JS on the employees’ OCBs. In an era of global competition when the speed of change is increasing, companies’ competitiveness depends on how well they adapt. To respond flexibly to changes, knowing how to use intangible resources is crucial. Design/methodology/approach – This study was administered to 324 deluxe hotel employees using a self-administered questionnaire. Following Anderson and Gerbing’s (1988) two-step approach, confirmatory factor analysis was first undertaken to assess the overall fit of the three-factor model, structural equation model which was used to examine the hypothesized relationships between the constructs. Findings – The findings showed that employees’ hope and optimism among PPC have a significant effect on their JS; their hope and resilience affect OCBs. Employees’ satisfaction was positively associated with their OCBs. Practical implications – It was verified that PPC was an important performance factor that could improve hotel employees’ attitudes and organization’s effectiveness. Employees with high PPC were high in satisfaction with job, positively helped coworkers or superiors, and had high possibility of doing devotional action for organization. Accordingly, there will be a need of forming favorable working atmosphere so that employees can perform job with positive psychology, and of seeking diverse support programs such as counseling program or leisure activity. Originality/value – Most previous studies have examined PPC mainly in general industries; however, this study focused on hotels as a hospitality industry. This study will have significance as the initial research of having considered that the hotel employees’ PPC formation has significant influence upon the JS and OCBs. It is predicted that positive psychology of hotel employees in a job situation leads to various efforts to develop their organization and their own development, thereby creating performance and strengthening management power.

In addition to suitable organizational working environment effective management of human psychological capital has become very important for any organizational success in today’s complex business world. This study aims to investigate the relationship between organizational work environment, psychological capital and job satisfaction by using a sample of 176 employees from four departments of civil secretariat government of Balochistan. According to correlation and regression analysis there was significant statistical relationship between organizational work environment, psychological capital and job satisfaction. Employees with positive psychological capital are more satisfied from jobs if working in even less conducive environment.
