Lower-limb function in elderly people gradually degenerates with age, and poor rehabilitation conditions preventing the elderly from receiving scientific rehabilitation training result in the decline of social labor force and the increased economic burden of the elderly. Aiming at the characteristics of the single function and the complex structure of an existing telescopic leg trainer combined with the needs of the application group, a new type of leg-stretching training device with multiple training modes for lower extremity extension and flexion of the elderly is proposed. A new mechanical structure and electrical system is designed. At the same time, the anti-resistance training man–machine model is analyzed, aiming at the isokinetic resistance training mode, and a training controller strategy based on a fuzzy synovial algorithm is proposed. Finally, the feasibility of the designed controller strategy and the proposed leg training device are verified by prototype experiments, which will guide further research.

This paper presents a proposal for a new type of regulator for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives. The proposed regulator enables a significant extension of the rotational speed range and drive output power. This regulator is characterized by a complex structure, including two regulation modules: voltage and phase supply switch-on angle. The voltage module includes a proportional integral derivative (PID) voltage regulator. During its operation, the value of the phase supply switch-on angle and the width of the phase supply range are determined as a result of interpolation of the data previously determined in the simulation program. The other module contains the PID controller of the phase supply switch-on angle. The values of the angles included in the tables have been determined so as to ensure that the drive works with the greatest possible efficiency. The control method is determined based on the current operating parameters of the drive, i.e., torque and speed. The operation of the regulator was simulated in the MATLAB Simulink program. The regulator presented here was implemented in a field programmable gate array (FPGA). Tests of the regulator’s operation in the prototype system were carried out in the field of control of commutation angles.

Background: Laparoscopic Incisional and Ventral Hernia Repair (LIVHR) is a safe and worldwide accepted procedure performed using absorbable tacks. The aim of the study was to evaluate recurrence rate in a long term follow-up and whether the results of laparoscopic IVH repair in the elderly (≥65 years old) are different with respect to results obtained in younger patients. Methods: One hundred and twenty-nine consecutive patients (74 women and 55 men, median age 67 years, range = 30-87 years) with ventral (N = 42, 32.5%) or post incisional (N = 87, 67.5%) hernia were enrolled in the study. Patients were divided into two groups according to their age: group A (N = 55, 42.6%) aged <65 years and group B (N = 74, 57.4%) aged ≥65 years. Results: The mean operative time was not significantly different between groups (66.7 ± 37 vs. 74 ± 48.4 min, p = 0.4). To the end of 2016, seven recurrences had occurred (group A = 3, group B = 4, p = 1). Complications occurred in 8 (16%) patients in group A and 21 (28.3%) patients in group B. Conclusion: In conclusion, our results confirm that the use of absorbable tacks does not increase recurrence frequency and laparoscopic incisional and ventral repair is a safety procedure also in elderly patients.

At present, basketball training needs more scientific training methods and techniques. In order to obtain these training methods, it needs to acquisition training information in the process of basketball training. Therefore, in view of basketball training to establish information control system, research on basketball players training characteristics and the law of motion in the process of basketball training, using control theory method to carry out information processing and analysis, and then the use of scoring methods carry out the authority score evaluation on basketball trainings influencing factors, according to the weight values, these are obtained on the basis of the score, then to carry out add sum, finally to obtain the evaluation scores of basketball training information control system. And then according to the weight value, to undertake an analysis of the basketball training control process, the basketball training information control method is put forward. The analysis results show that information control system is mainly manifested in the basketball training information collection and transmission, training scheme decision of coaches decision system as well as the feedback of decision information, which will complete the whole system construction of basketball training information control.

Lithium battery has been employed widely in many industrial applications. Parameter mismatches between lithium batteries along a series string is the critical limits of the large-scale applications in high power situation. Maintaining equalization between batteries is the key technique in lithium batteries application. This paper summarizes normal equalization techniques and proposed a new type of lithium Battery Equalization and Management System (BEMS) employing the isolated DC-DC converter structure. The system is integrated both equalization functions and management functions by using distributed 3-level controlled structure and digital control technique. With this control method the flexibility of the balance control strategy and the compatibility for different battery strings are both improved dramatically. The experimental results show optimizing equalization, efficiency and the battery string life span has been extended.

AbstractLet X be a differentiable manifold endowed with a transitive action α: A×X→X of a Lie group A. Let K be a Lie group. Under suitable technical assumptions, we give explicit classification theorems, in terms of explicit finite dimensional quotients, of three classes of objects:equivalence classes of α-invariant K-connections on X α-invariant gauge classes of K-connections on X, andα-invariant isomorphism classes of pairs (Q,P) consisting of a holomorphic Kℂ-bundle Q → X and a K-reduction P of Q (when X has an α-invariant complex structure).

ABSTRACT Objectives: To assess the effect of exercise on gait using two different programs: a group of aerobic exercises (Group A, n = 18) and a group of flexibility and balance exercises (Group B, n = 19). Methods: A casualized controlled study, in which each sample controlled itself, was undertaken. The sample comprised 37 male and female subjects, aged from 60 to 90 years, from the outpatient clinic of the Geriatrics Unit of Hospital das Clínicas of Faculdade de Medicina of Universidade de São Paulo; the patients were sedentary and had not exercised regularly during the past six months. Results: Improvement of gait was seen mainly in the group that did specific exercises. Conclusion: The results of this study underline the importance of physical exercises in sedentary elderly subjects, but show the need for programming the exercises towards specific goals, which can optimize the results of this tool of health promotion for the elderly.
