Telecom operators and companies ask for graduates with a specific education on the standards of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) or the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), and the University curricula must consider these needs. The standards are written in a technical form, in a language understandable only by experts, and the technical details and algorithms are not often outlined. Therefore, a new educational methodology must be applied because the teachers have to bridge the gap between the basic knowledge (and the poor technical language) of students and the technical specifics of the standards. The paper presents a structured methodology to provide innovative teaching of the wireless standards for the Engineering Master’s degree, according to the Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate (CDIO) initiative and project based learning. The methodology is organized in three learning phases to understand the standardization process and improve students’ skills to implement standard compliant communications systems. This challenge can be only won with laboratory activities to assist students in understanding wireless standards and with hands-on experiences during the internship period at telecom operators with the vision of a close cooperation between universities and telecom operators. Only in this way can the students achieve a solid background in designing and developing prototypes compliant with wireless communications standards and working skills for their future professional engineering careers. The effectiveness of the adopted educational methodology to provide innovative learning of wireless standards is evaluated by questionnaires filled in online by students and by the achieved skills implemented as confirmed by telecom operators. In this vision, the paper provides decision support to leaders in educational organizations to teach wireless standards effectively.

University students are disengaged with learning. One reason is because educators continue to overuse the lecture format, which creates a situation where students engage in other tasks, such as sending text messages to their friends, instead to listening to the information being given by the instructor. If institutions and educators want to improve learning environments and increase retention rates, it is argued that they should consider embracing more active methods of learning that inspire and motivate students to learn. Five innovative teaching approaches discussed in this article include: project-based learning, problem based learning, service learning, place-based education, and active learning. Practical considerations are provided to help educators understand how to use and apply these approaches. It is contended that using these five innovative practices at the university level will help inspire and motivate students to learn, resulting in more exciting classrooms and a better-educated society.

One of the main directions of modern higher education is the preparation and development of a future specialist as a highly educated, integrated person with a high level of competence, able to build and fulfill creatively his human and social goals regardless of growing tasks. «In accordance with the requirements of society, the state and the labor market, the higher education system is necessary to ensure the education of young people capable to create professional development in the context of automation and modern advanced technologies. An analysis of the scientific and methodological literature shows that young people at the stage of professional development at the university stage are not independent enough and are not informed about the choice of profession insuffi-ciently. Creative development of students in the process of professional development will solve the problem of reproduction and development of human resources in the country effectively. The article explains the concept of «psychological adaptation» including «professional skills» and also discusses some innovative teaching methods at universities. The main approaches to the introduction of innovations in modern higher education are analyzed. It also identifies the differences between traditional and innovative learning and shows the choice of innovative didactic goals, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using certain methods.

The present paper analyzes an innovative teaching experience, Transmedia Narrative, in the field of Higher Education. This experience based on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method and collaborative processes, that has a solid constructivist framework, is proposed as a fertile ground for creative experimentation and the production of interesting pieces and exemplary transmediation strategies. The innovative teaching project was conducted between 2013 and 2017 at the Faculty of Communication, Catholic University of Murcia (Spain). Part of the results at this project were presented at the ‘International Conference on Communication in the profession and the university of today: contents, research, innovation and teaching’ (CUICIID) in 2014, in order to make the premier disclosure of preliminary data and test the design of the project. So far, the project created works in progress of immense professional and academic value. Results of this project are not only relevant, but also provide a significant and original contribution to the international literature related to contemporary education.

This research was conducted since the students‘ learning outcomes on Electrics practicum learning process are not optimal and leads to the demand of active and innovative learning model. This research was performed using experimental method of one group posttest design. During the study, experimental class used Blended-project based learning (BPjBL) model. The research samples were the university students who enrolled in Power Electrics Practicum course in Electrics Engineering Major in Faculty of Engineering of UNP. The instrument used was the learning test outcomes. The research result proved that BPjBL learning model was classically effective and able to improve the students’ learning outcomes in Power Electrics practicum course.

AbstractThe paper presents the resources offered by the Wittgenstein Archives at the University of Bergen (WAB) on Wittgenstein Source. Moreover, it describes the conditions for their use. Finally, the paper also briefly introduces WAB’s “Nachlass transcriptions” site from which all of WAB’s transcriptions of the Wittgenstein Nachlass can be downloaded, and the tool WiTTFind which permits lemmatized online search in the entire Nachlass and is the result of more than five years of close cooperation between WAB and the Centrum für Informations- und Sprachverarbeitung (CIS) at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität München.

This paper explores the post-pandemic strategic reorientation of a master in leadership and change management, investigating the conditions for its success and the side effects. The Master, which is part of the Defense Education Enhancement Plan recently approved by the Italian Ministry of Defense, led in partnership by the Center for High Defense Studies and the University of Salerno, aims at developing strategic leadership and change management competencies. The virtualization of the project work sessions that was caused by the pandemic emergency produced unexpected consequences that led the master directors to refocus the program as regards its format and method. The case-study, based on direct observation, unstructured interviews, and analysis of written documents and recorded audio, corroborates the literature regarding the emerging innovative, learner-centered approaches in management education, showing the effectiveness of an integrated educational approach based on traditional in-presence lectures, as well as experiential and project-based learning. It shows how the adjustments devised to cope with the consequences of teamwork virtualization proved to be synergistic, delivering positive outcomes in terms of participants’ satisfaction, learning, and impact. Future research avenues and practical implications are also highlighted, with a focus on the internal and external conditions for successful project-based learning in a distance learning environment.
