Medicine is the main means to reduce cancer mortality. However, some medicines face various risks during transportation and storage due to the particularity of medicines, which must be kept at a low temperature to ensure their quality. In this regard, it is of great significance to evaluate and select drug cold chain logistics suppliers from different perspectives to ensure the quality of medicines and reduce the risks of transportation and storage. To solve such a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, this paper proposes an integrated model based on the combination of the SWARA (stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis) and CoCoSo (combined compromise solution) methods under the probabilistic linguistic environment. An adjustment coefficient is introduced to the SWARA method to derive criteria weights, and an improved CoCoSo method is proposed to determine the ranking of alternatives. The two methods are extended to the probabilistic linguistic environment to enhance the applicability of the two methods. A case study on the selection of drug cold chain logistics suppliers is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed integrated MCDM model. The advantages of the proposed methods are highlighted through comparative analyses.

Suitability-Feasibility-Acceptability (SFA) is a fundamental tool for the development and selection of strategy. Any type of decision-making problem can be resolved by Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. In this research, we explore the complexity of determining the proper goal market for the Chilean fish market. This study proposed a combined approach of SFA with MCDM methods in a real case study. The proposed structure helps to assign the best market for Chilean export fish to West Asia. Three countries (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman) are selected as a target market in this region, and then related criteria are obtained from various sources. In order to develop a new market for the Chilean fishery industry, five major criteria, including the potential of a target market, region's economic attractiveness, consumption of the seafood, location, cost of transportation, and country risks, were selected based on the SFA framework. Calculating the criteria weights is performed by the Best-Worst (BWM) method, and ordering the alternatives is operated by Measurement Alternatives and Ranking according to compromise Solution (MARCOS) methods. The results showed that Oman is the best destination (importer) for the Chilean fish market (Salmon fish as the case).

Mining design is usually evaluated with different multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods when it comes to large open pit or underground ore mines, but it is not used on quarry sites. Since Croatia is mostly mining stone, the implementation of such methods in decision making of the quarry mine design is imperative but left out. In this paper, the PROMETHEE II and AHP decision-making methods are implemented on the quarry site to find out the best final quarry design contour. By implementing the MCDM methods, the best quarry model was chosen based on 22 different criteria parameters out of three final quarry designs. The chosen model is not only financially sound but also has the least environmental impact.

This study creates indicators of adequacy and excellence based on multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods and fuzzy logic. The calculation of indicators presents two main difficulties: The nature of the data (numerical, interval, and linguistic values are mixed) and the objective of each criterion (which does not have to reach either the maximum or the minimum). A method is proposed, based on similarity measures with predetermined ideals, that is capable of overcoming these difficulties to provide easy-to-interpret information about the quality of the alternatives. To illustrate the usefulness of this proposed method, it has been applied to data collected from students across nine semesters at the Bucaramanga campus of the Industrial University of Santander in Colombia. This case study demonstrates that the proposed method can facilitate strategic decisions at an institution and open the way for the establishment of action policies regarding gender inequality and economic disparity, among other things.

Nowadays, modern companies perform the largest part of their communications with their consumers over the Internet, usually in order to promote their own products and services. There are almost no companies today that do not promote their products and services through the Internet and websites. Therefore, measuring the quality of a website is significant from the company’s point of view in order to maintain the competitive advantage in the long run; thus, the quality of a website has become an area of great importance. This paper aims to present a new multiple-criteria decision-making approach, together with the “quality in use” ISO/IEC 9126-4 criteria devoted to the evaluation of the quality of websites in the textile industry. The proposed approach is based on the use of the newly-developed Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method for the ranking of alternatives, i.e. in our case websites, whereas for the purpose of determining the weights, the adapted Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) method is applied. In order to demonstrate usability, efficiency and simplicity a numerical example of the evaluation of the websites of the textile industry in Serbia is conducted.

In the era of intelligence and informatization, digital supply chain finance (DSCF) has become one of the important trends in the development of supply chain finance. With the gradual increase of DSCF suppliers and various requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises for suppliers in providing financing services, selecting the most suitable DSCF supplier is of great significance for most small and medium-sized enterprises to expand reproduction and improve competitiveness. To address such a decision-making problem, this paper proposes a new multi-expert multiple criteria decision-making model by integrating the Best Worst Method (BWM) and Additive Ratio ASsessment (ARAS) method under the hesitant fuzzy linguistic environment, in which the hesitant fuzzy linguistic BWM method is applied to determine the weights of criteria while the hesitant fuzzy linguistic ARAS method is proposed to rank the candidate suppliers. A case study is given to demonstrate the procedure of the proposed method for the selection of optimal DSCF suppliers, which shows the feasibility of the proposed method. Finally, sensitivity analysis and comparative analyses are provided to testify the applicability and superiority of the proposed method.

The results of decision making play an important role in achieving a goal in solving certain problems. In the decision making process requires data or supporting evidence that can be used as a guide for the selection of solutions based on available alternatives, so as to produce choices that can increase productivity. MCDM method for the analysis of research data namely AHP, TOPSIS and SMART, the three methods are tested, because each MCDM method has a different way of working or algorithm, so it is necessary to experiment with certain cases. This study aims to determine the performance of the AHP, TOPSIS, and SMART methods with a case study of selecting superior female cattle breeds. The application of three MCDM methods for alternative analysts of prospective superior beef cattle based on testing to determine the accuracy of comparing the results/output of the system with expert recommendation solutions using a sample of 15 female cows that produce priority/ranking for superior beef cattle, shows that the performance of the three methods produces priority selection results the same, with 80% priority accuracy.

The weights of evaluation criteria could have a significant impact on the results obtained by using multiple criteria decision-making methods, which is why a number of methods have been proposed for determining them. In this article, the use of a newly proposed method for determining criteria weights, the PIvot Pairwise RElative Criteria Importance Assessment (PIPRECIA) method, is presented in the case of determining weights of criteria for assessing the quality of e-learning materials. The main goal is to define which criteria are the most important and have the crucial influence on the quality of e-learning material, as well as to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method and the simplicity of its application.

The siting of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) landfills is a complex decision process. Existing siting methods utilize expert scores to determine criteria weights, however, they ignore the uncertainty of data and criterion weights and the efficacy of results. In this study, a coupled fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approach was employed to site landfills in Lanzhou, a semi-arid valley basin city in China, to enhance the spatial decision-making process. Primarily, 21 criteria were identified in five groups through the Delphi method at 30 m resolution, then criteria weights were obtained by DEMATEL and ANP, and the optimal fuzzy membership function was determined for each evaluation criterion. Combined with GIS spatial analysis and the clustering algorithm, candidate sites that satisfied the landfill conditions were identified, and the spatial distribution characteristics were analyzed. These sites were subsequently ranked utilizing the MOORA, WASPAS, COPRAS, and TOPSIS methods to verify the reliability of the results by conducting sensitivity analysis. This study is different from the previous research that applied the MCDM approach in that fuzzy MCDM for weighting criteria is more reliable compared to the other common methods.
