This study assessed the role of waste picker sustainopreneurs (WPS) by examining their recycling contributions in a special case of District Swat, Pakistan. Using a transformative worldview, this study acknowledges their contributions to recycling. The study envisages how entrepreneurial agency works in unanticipated ways where the poorest of the poor enterprise without resources demonstrate unexpected agency to improve the environment. An inductive research design in conjunction with grounded theory was used to analyze data from 37 interviews in three tehsils of District Swat. The recycling sector uses primitive measures, which are completely informal, self-organized, and self-controlled. Surprisingly, we discovered that informal recycling contributes unfavorably to waste, energy, and food (WEF) security due to intermixing and adulteration, as well as acts as a gray channel for illicit practices that have taken advantage of tax amnesty in the area until 2023. The uncontrolled welding of half cut and nose cut car parts has skyrocketed the motorization index and CO2 emissions; however, it has also resulted in alternative sources of livelihoods, as these accidental environmentalists had found modern sources of income. This is similar to low-tech innovation and business creation that takes advantage of tax holidays due to the special status of District Swat. The study highlights the most and least valuable recyclables and identifies the gray channel markets of spare parts, metal recycling, counterfeit products, fuel intermixing, and adulteration. The study contributes by untangling the understanding of a legal gambit of tax amnesty at a critical pre-policy input as well as advocates for rights of invisible stakeholders of waste management in Pakistan.

Electronics containing growing quantities of high value and critical metals are increasingly used in automobiles. The conventional treatment practice for end-of-life vehicles (ELV) is shredding after de-pollution and partial separation of spare parts. Despite opportunities for resource recovery, the selective separation of components containing relevant amounts of critical metals for the purpose of material recycling is not commonly implemented. This article is aimed to contribute to recycling strategies for future critical metal quantities and the role of extended material recovery from ELVs. The study examines the economic feasibility of dismantling electronic components from ELVs for high value metal recycling. The results illustrate the effects of factors as dismantling time, labour costs and logistics on the economic potential of resource recovery from ELVs. Manual dismantling is profitable for only a few components at the higher labour costs in western/northern parts of Europe and applicable material prices, including the inverter for hybrid vehicles, oxygen sensor, side assistant sensor, distance and near distance sensors. Depending on the vehicle model, labour costs and current material prices, manual dismantling can also be cost-efficient for also some other such as the heating blower, generator, starter, engine and transmission control, start/stop motor, drive control, infotainment and chassis control.

This research aimed to study and develop the innovation capability indicators for entrepreneurs who created their businesses from public universities' incubators in Thailand. This study applied the inductive research method using critical analysis; the sample included 202 entrepreneurs' variables related to Confirmatory Factor Analysis to find the model's concordance and empirical data. The entrepreneurs who developed their businesses from incubators of universities in Thailand had the innovation capability for business management through the following factors: the change and management development process at lower costs to achieve more efficient management, the novel/innovative product development process to the market, the perceived product enhancement process through new and modern channels, and the use of contemporary digital convergence for innovation capability construction to further take advantage of business competition. The research results and contributions revealed that the measurement model of innovation capability developed from the three main factors: process innovation capability, product innovation capability, and market innovation capability, leading to value synergistic business creation and directed innovation.

In this emerging technology world, the counterfeit of products are increasing due to raising the economy of industry. Counterfeiting is as old as the human desire to create objects of value. There are number of products, which can be easily duplicated by simple processes and the product is accurate and precise. Counterfeit is a problem of product security, the rise and affects every product category from consumer goods to medicines and spare parts. Products can furthermore contain non-active or even toxic- ingredients. So, luminescent materials are useful to detect different counterfeit products at different wavelength. The carbon dots-lanthanide composite based gel formulation is used to coat on different subtract and according to the process their different characterization part for the prevention of counterfeit problems. Carbon dots-lanthanide composites are basically easy to synthesis and they have fluorescent property, which can help to make product unique and diverse. With help of UV chamber, the carbon dots-lanthanide composites are easily detected at some particular wavelength. So by using this property, the gel formulation can be fabricated to coat on different subtract and characterize different surface morphology for the future precepts. UV-Vis- spectrophotometer was utilized to differentiate optical properties and fluorospectrometer was exploited to differentiate fluorescent properties of carbon dots, carbon dots-lanthanide composite and CDs-lanthanide based fluorescent ink. FT-IR and viscometer were used characterized other properties of carbon dots-lanthanide based fluorescent ink. This research article is the revised article of one step synthesis of carbon dots based smart fluorescent security ink.

They have been shown to be consistent with the self-organized criticality (SOC), a model wherein occasionally occurring “catastrophic events” are necessary in order to maintain a self-organized “critical equilibrium.” The SOC can represent the psychopathology network structures and additionally suggests that they can be considered as self-organized systems.

This work covers waste energy utilization of the combined power cycle by using it in the candle raw material (paraffin) melting process and an economic study for this process. After a partial utilization of the burned fuel energy in a real bottoming steam power generation, the exhaust gas contains 0.033 of the initially burned energy. This tail energy with about 128 ºC is partly driven in the heat exchanger of the paraffin melting system. Ansys-Fluent Software was used to study the paraffin wax melting process by using a layered system that utilizes an increased interface area between the heat transfer fluid (HTF) and the phase change material (PCM) to improve the paraffin melting process. The results indicate that using 47.35 kg/s, which is 5% of the entire exhaust gas (881.33 kg/s) from the exit of the combined power cycle, would be enough for producing 1100 tons per month, which corresponds to the production quantity by real candle's factories. Also, 63% of the LPG cost will be saved, and the payback period of the melting system is 2.4 years. Moreover, as the exhaust gas temperature increases, the consumed power and the payback period will decrease.
