The paper presents the cases of using the UEMO-standard installation based on the 1M63F101 screw-cutting lathe for electromechanical hardening of the working surfaces of agricultural machinery and equipment parts. According to the results of hardening of the spider ends of the cardan joints crosses of the tractor Belarus 82.1/102.1, plunger of milk homogenizer A1-ОG2М and disc coulters of the seeder SZT-3,6A, operational properties of the working surfaces of the said parts increased 1,5…2,0 times. To ensure the processing of parts of various shapes, the tooling for installing, positioning and fixing parts on basic equipment has been developed. Technical solutions of the tooling are protected by patents.

Modern machines are subject to progressive wear that occurs at different rates, which leads to unpredictable failures that reduce the reliability and durability of machines. The strategy of maintenance and repair is aimed at eliminating these problems. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in analyzing the basic principles of the strategy of maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery in order to ensure control of the technical condition of machine parts. (Materials and methods) When resource diagnostics is used, , the allowable value of the parameter is set in advance for a part . This value is the tolerance that corresponds to a certain wear rate of the part. The tolerance is set based on the condition that if the current value of the controlled resource parameter during the next diagnosis is less than the set value, then such a part at the current value of the wear rate can be finalized until the next inter-control check. Taking into account the wear rate of the same type of parts from the group when determining the allowable wear during their resource diagnostics becomes an urgent task. (Results and discussions) As a result of research, the article presents "Methodology for determining the main indicators of reliability of parts of agricultural machines with different wear rates" and "Methodology for determining the tolerance system of parts of agricultural machines with different wear rates". (Conclusions) The article presents the tolerance system that reduces the probability of failure of machine parts in operation. During resource diagnostics, those parts whose resource parameters exceed the tolerance are rejected.

Maize milling SMEs emit high levels of noise which can have adverse effects on humanbeings and therefore require controlling. This paper reports on a study that involvedassessment and measurement of noise level in maize milling SMEs in DSM and Morogorourban, gathering opinions of workers and the neighbouring population on noise problems, and suggesting solutions for noise control. Noise measurements in 41 SMEs were recordedfrom 89-103 dBA in DSM and 92-103 dBA in Morogoro near the milling machines. Thesevalues were higher than the safe level of 85 dBA for 8 hours working shift. Measurementalso indicated high noise in the immediate neighbourhood of the milling plants. Machineoperators and neighbours indicated health problems which could be a result of machinenoise. Causes of high noise were identified to include loose or untightened machine parts, improper installation of machine system, use of worn out machine bearings, and the use ofimproperly designed and unbalanced milling hammers. Possible administrative andtechnical solutions for these problems were suggested. It is concluded from this study thatmost of maize milling SMEs produce high noise which is indeed pollutant to workers andthe neighbouring population. Therefore, it is important to implement the suggestedadministrative and technical solutions to minimise this problem.

The problem of quality control of agricultural machinery parts by means of dynamic non-destructive methods of impact indentation of conical shape indenters is considered. Quality of the crucial parts is considered from the point of view of a set of mechanical characteristics that determine the strength, hardness, wear resistance and deformability. These characteristics must be known and be able to control on all the details promptly and accurately both in the manufacturing process and in operation. The mechanical characteristics of metals are stochastic in nature. For this purpose, an impact indentation device was developed, and the method based on probabilistic laws of dispersion of mechanical characteristics is obtained.

The paper considers the issues of increasing the reliability of agricultural machinery through the use of reinforcing processing of recovered machine parts by plastic deformation, which provides an increase in the quality of their surface layer during recovery. The operational stability of the piston fingers and the upper heads of the connecting rods restored by vibration reinforcement on the engines working in the mechanized agricultural complex was carried out: tractor - agricultural machine - car. Studies have shown that the amount of wear of piston fingers restored by the vibration deformation method is 1.23 times smaller than the traditional method of recovery, which confirms the effectiveness of vibration technology. Technological processes of restoration of discs of diggers of beet harvesters, discs of coulters of grain planers, plow blades with use of vibrating vibrations of the processing tool are developed and put into production. The results of these developments showed an increase of 1.21 times the time of beet harvester harvesting with the diggers' wheels with the vibration-strengthened method; an increase in technical use factor of 1.07 times, compared to new 65G steel wheels. To improve the reliability of the PLN-5-35, PLN-3-35 plows, the technology of restoration of working bodies - blades is developed and introduced into production, which provides for increase of their durability and durability. The coefficient of technical use of the plow units with the blades restored by the developed technology is 1.01 times higher than that of the plow units with the new blades made of 65G steel. The wear rate of the toe, width and thickness of the blade are 1.51 respectively; 1.22 and 1.27 times less than the new 65G steel blades. The results of the study of vibrating reinforcing processing of working bodies of agricultural machinery help to increase their resource, which provides increased reliability of machines.

The article identifies the existing types of troubleshooting of self- propelled agricultural machinery. Taking into account the wear rate of the same type of parts from the group of parts of the same name when determining the permissible wear during their resource diagnostics is an urgent problem. The article presents the resource parameter and its influence on the reliability indicators of machine parts. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in determining the basic principles of the strategy of maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery in order to ensure control of the technical condition of machine parts, in particular, to increase the reliability of hydraulic drive parts. (Materials and methods) The article presents the options for maintenance strategies, the disadvantages and advantages of each of them. (Results and discussion) The article presents standard maintenance strategies: according to the need, planned preventive, according to the condition and justifies the optimal type of maintenance, taking into account the wear rate of each specific part. Authors performed an analysis of the algorithm for carrying out maintenance in each case individually. The tolerance is set based on the condition: if the current value of the controlled resource parameter during the next diagnosis turns out to be less than the set value, then such a part at the current value of the wear rate will be able to refine it until the next inter-control check. (Conclusions) The choice of a maintenance strategy has an important role in increasing the reliability of hydraulic drive parts of agricultural machines. A strategy has been developed that takes into account the wear rate of each specific part and the culling is carried out taking into account the wear rate of each part individually. Parts with a high wear rate are rejected first, and parts with a low wear rate are the last.

Quantitative recording of electron patterns and their rapid conversion into digital information is an outstanding goal which the photoplate fails to solve satisfactorily. For a long time, LLL-TV cameras have been used for EM adjustment but due to their inferior pixel number they were never a real alternative to the photoplate. This situation has changed with the availability of scientific grade slow-scan charged coupled devices (CCD) with pixel numbers exceeding 106, photometric accuracy and, by Peltier cooling, both excellent storage and noise figures previously inaccessible in image detection technology. Again the electron image is converted into a photon image fed to the CCD by some light optical transfer link. Subsequently, some technical solutions are discussed using the detection quantum efficiency (DQE), resolution, pixel number and exposure range as figures of merit.A key quantity is the number of electron-hole pairs released in the CCD sensor by a single primary electron (PE) which can be estimated from the energy deposit ΔE in the scintillator,
