SummaryObjectives: Firstly, to investigate the effect that using different landmarks has on the measured stifle angle. Secondly, to determine whether any differences in measured stifle angle would lead to variations in the required extent of tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA).Methods: Three greyhound stifles were positioned in a total of 66 different angles. Radiographic exposures of each stifle angle were made. For each radiograph i) the stifle angle was measured using each of three sets of landmarks and ii) the extent of TTA required to obtain a patella tendon angle of 90° was measured. Each radiograph was plotted graphically according to the stifle angle and the extent of TTA required. Linear regression analysis was used to calculate the TTA required for a stifle angle of 135° measured using each of the three landmark sets.Results: On average, the stifle angle determined by the Long Axes method differed by 18° from the stifle angle determined with the Kinematic method. The stifle angle determined using the Eminence method differed from that determined using the Kinematic method by three degrees. The use of the Long Axes of the tibia and femur as landmarks to determine a stifle angle resulted in 5 mm and 4 mm over-advancement of the tibial tuberosity compared to the use of Kinematic or Eminence landmark methods respectively.Clinical significance: The method used to measure the stifle joint angle can influence the value of the required TTA advancement. This is an additional variable that should be considered during TTA planning and when comparing in vivo and in vitro studies.

AbstractAs it is common practice for laboratories to store patient samples for a predefined period, allowing clinicians to request additional tests on previously collected samples, knowledge about sample stability is indispensable for the laboratorian. A common approach to estimating the maximum storage time is to use a discrete study design, measuring the analyte of interest at various time-points and then checking for significant differences with the help of a statistical test, such as Student’s t-test, Wilcoxon’s test or an analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. Because only discrete time intervals are considered, stability data can just be approximated. Alternatively, a continuous study design, as described by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) for performing stability experiments for in vitro diagnostic reagents, can also be adopted by the clinical laboratory to evaluate the stability of biological samples. The major advantage of this approach is that it allows laboratories to define individual stability limits for different medical situations and offers more flexibility when choosing time-points for measurements. The intent of this paper is to demonstrate the evaluation of sample stability in the clinical laboratory with a continuous study design implemented with linear or non-linear regression analysis. Appropriate statistical modeling and acceptance criteria are presented, stability functions are described briefly, and checking the overall validity of the results is discussed.

Sorbitol, inositol, betaine, taurine, and glycerophosphorylcholine (GPC) are organic osmolytes that accumulate in the renal inner medulla during antidiuresis. In the cultured cell model, high medium sodium increases all the cell osmolytes and high medium urea increases cell GPC and inositol. It has been difficult, however, to discriminate between the effects of sodium and urea on organic osmolytes in water-deprived animals. To determine the nature of the in vivo responses of osmolyte accumulation induced by extracellular sodium or urea, we measured the medullary organic osmolytes and tested the degree of their linear correlation with urine and tissue parameters in control, dehydrated, salt-loaded, and urea-loaded rats. All of the osmolytes except myo-inositol increased in salt-loaded rats. Betaine and sorbitol contents in dehydrated rats were less than in salt-loaded rats, but other osmolytes increased significantly. Conversely, in urea-loaded rats, only GPC increased significantly, whereas either no change occurred for other osmolytes or sometimes betaine and sorbitol levels decreased. These data suggest that high sodium increases all of the osmolytes except myoinositol, whereas high urea increases only GPC and may decrease the renal medullary contents of betaine and sorbitol. We also demonstrated, using linear regression analysis, that urea and electrolyte in urine as well as tissue correlate well with each osmolyte measured.

Single linear regression analysis was used for chemicals of the MEIC (multicentre evaluation of in vitro cytotoxicity) project, to obtain a correlation between in vitro cytotoxicity determined in various test systems, according to data from the literature, and their lipophilicity. A linear correlation coefficient of 0.76 was determined between the IC50x¯ values (geometrical mean of two or more IC50 values per substance) of 29 MEIC substances and their octanol/water partition coefficient (owp). Since the MEIC substances were selected from a broad spectrum of structurally unrelated classes of chemicals, it may be possible to make close predictions of the general in vitro cytotoxicities of chemicals from their owp coefficients.

This study aims to determine the effect of Inflation, Exchange Rate and Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) to Return of PT Nikko Securities Indonesia Stock Fund period 2014-2017. The study used secondary data obtained through documentation in the form of PT Nikko Securities Indonesia Monthly Net Asset (NAB) report. Data analysis is used with quantitative analysis, multiple linear regression analysis using eviews 9. Population and sample in this research are PT Nikko Securities Indonesia. The result of multiple linear regression analysis was the coefficient of determination (R2) showed the result of 0.123819 or 12%. This means that the Inflation, Exchange Rate and Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) variables can influence the return of PT Nikko Securities Indonesia's equity fund of 12% and 88% is influenced by other variables. Based on the result of the research, the variables of inflation and exchange rate have a negative and significant effect toward the return of PT Nikko Securities Indonesia's equity fund. While the variable of Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) has a negative but not significant effect toward Return of Equity Fund of PT Nikko Securities Indonesia

XX in Jakarta and to identify variables that have a dominant influence on the productivity of employees. The research method used is using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that the all variables simultaneously and partially change the organizational structure, job design, and organizational culture has a significant impact on employee productivity at PT. XXin Jakarta.

Some students perceive lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) positively, even though LGBT is a sexual deviation that is not appropriate with values and norms. There are several factors that influence an individual's perception of LGBT, including sexual identity. This study aims at looking at the contribution of sexual identity to student perceptions about LGBT. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method and a simple linear regression analysis. The sample of this research was 385 taken from 15.752 undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Padang which the sample was drawn by using the Slovin formula and continued with a Proportional Random Sampling technique. The instrument used was the Guttman model's sexual identity scale and the scale of students' perceptions of the LGBT Likert model. After analyzing the data with the descriptive technique and the simple linear regression analysis, the results showed that sexual identity significantly contributed to the students' perceptions of LGBT. This research has implications as a basis for counselors to help students avoid sexual identity mismatches and prevent the emergence of positive perceptions of LGBT.

The problem in this study is whether there is an influence of leadership and work discipline on the employees’ performance of PT.Sucofindo Palembang City. This research includes associative research. The sample in this study were 88 respondents, with propotionate random sampling analysis technique. The data used were primary data and secondary data. Data collection method through questionnare. Analysis techniques using multiple linear regression analysis, F test (Simultaneoys) and t test (partial) and determination coeffiecient. The results show that there is influence of leadership and work discipline on the performance of PT.Sucofindo Palembang City.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan dapat menjelaskan pengaruh Kualitas Pelayanan dan Word Of Mouth terhadap Keputusan pembelian di Kafe Potret Medan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 700 orang ditentukan dari jumlah pengunjung Kafe Potret Medan dalam kurun waktu satu minggu, dan sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 88 pengunjung. Sedangkan tehnik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket (kuesioner) dan pengujiannya yaitu uji kualitas data dan uji asumsi klasik.Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda, uji F, uji t, dan uji R2. Hipotesis penelitian dimensi Kualitas Pelayanan dan Word Of Mouth secara parsial terhadap Keputusan Pembelian diterima jika t hitung > t tabel dengan tingkat signifikan 0.05.Nilai t tabel dalam penelitian ini 1,662. Nilai t hitung variabel X1 sebesar 1,990 t hitung  > t tabel maka hipotesis diterima, nilai t hitung variabel X2 sebesar 2,628 t hitung > t tabel maka hipotesis diterima.
