Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of collaboration, capability and information sharing (IS) on logistic performance, the effect of collaboration and IS on capabilities, the effect of collaboration on logistic performance through capabilities, the influence of IS on logistic performance through capabilities and the effect of logistics capabilities on logistics performance. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a quantitative approach and is included in explanatory research. This research uses cross section research design. The research populations are all companies incorporated in GAFEKSI (Joint Forwarder and Expedition Indonesia) of East Java. Sampling in this research is by using a purposive sample. The sample of this study amounted to 47 forwarder and expedition companies. Data analysis method used is partial least square. Findings Collaboration has a positive impact on capabilities (CAP); capability (LOC) positive impact on logistic performance; collaboration does not directly affect the logistics performance; and construct capabilities (LOC) is the mediation of IS in building business logistics performance. Increasing the intensity of IS has no direct contribution to increased flexibility, and collaboration is driven by partnership and network, whereas CT (trust) can be ignored, as it is not proven to make a dominant contribution to collaboration. Originality/value The novelty of this research is found in the strategic role of capabilities as the dominant latent variable in building business performance of logistic companies. This study finds dual mediation, where both mediations are expressed as full mediation, because the direct effect of mediator latent variables is significant (Little et al., 2010; Hair et al., 1995).

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues in developing markets have acquired a lot of attention. Organisations around the globe apply a diversified set of technologies to approaching customer expectations through banking performance. This study examines the impact of CSR on Lebanese banking performance. Primary data from questionnaires were used. A total of 1000 observations were collected using a 5-point Likert scale method adopted to formulate the items. The questionnaire was tested to assess its trustworthiness regarding data collection. Partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypothesis. The overall results demonstrated the significance of CSR in terms of meeting customers’ expectations and maintaining banking performance. All CSR dimensions demonstrated a positive impact on customer expectations and Lebanese banking performance. Moreover, customer expectations proved to be a mediator between CSR and banking performance, although there was partial mediation between CSR and banking performance.

The minimarket competition in Indonesia is very tight and dominated by the two largest minimarket chain, Indomaret and Alfamart. This study aims to examine the effects of government regulation and distinctive capability on the cost leadership strategy and its implications for the business performance of minimarket chain in Indonesia. It is based on empirical gap, not based on theoretical gap. The variables of distinctive capability and cost leadership strategy are relevant to the competitive advantage and sustainability. The method is explanatory survey, and the data is analyzed quantitatively on primary data. The unit of analysis is a minimarket chain in Indonesia. Time horizon is a cross section (one shoot). The populations are all minimarket chain companies in Indonesia which has the same set of characteristics amounted to 20. The analysis design used in this study is Partial Least Square. The coverage of samples under 100 respondents is very valid to use PLS. The results showed that cost leadership strategy dominantly was influenced by ownership of distinctive capability and was supported by government regulation. Cost leadership strategy has the most influence in directly increasing business performance. Government regulation and distinctive strategy can directly improve business performance, but the effect is smaller when compared to indirect effects through the cost leadership strategy. The findings of this study have implications for the management that efforts to improve business performance rely on the development of a cost leadership strategy, which is built on ownership of distinctive capability and adaptation of government regulation. Cost leadership strategy is suitable to be applied in this industry because of its hypercompetitive market structure. In addition, government regulations have a significant impact on the retail industry's strategy in Indonesia

The research population is from small-and-medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the city of Tarakan. The determined sample is based on the observed area; hence, the technique is called probability sampling area. The data analysis technique is Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), run by WarpPls 6.0. Findings. This research's results indicate that entrepreneurship competency has a positive impact on Internet technology-based business applications. Besides, internet technology-based business application mediates the effect of entrepreneurship competency on business performance. Theoretical implications. The results support the Resource-Based View Theory, stating that the competitive advantage of an enterprise is derived from its unique resource. Practical implications. The food service industry has grown rapidly in response to the changing consumer lifestyles. In this regard, the food service industry is highly competitive as the number of new entrants offering inventive food products and services keep on increasing to keep up with the demand for novel food products. Consequently, café operators are focusing on improving their store environment to gain advantage in the competitive industry. Studies have found that store facility can stimulate consumers’ emotions, and in turn, significantly increases positive association with the café environment. Owners are also keen to upgrade their café to become a social space or a co-working space to fulfil consumers’ needs. This study aims to investigate the impact of various café environment factors on consumer behaviour. The sample for this survey consists of patrons of cafes in Selangor who were selected using purposive sampling technique. Data from 320 questionnaires were analysed by using the Partial Least Square technique was used to analyse. It was found that café results indicated that café design and café cleanliness significantly influences consumer behaviour. The findings indicate that café facilities have a significant positive impact on pleasure, which has a direct, positive influence on consumer behaviour. The mediation result confirms that pleasure mediates the relationship between café facilities and consumer behaviour.

Purpose – This study aims to explain how supply chain alignment, which remains a major challenge for supply chains, can be achieved and its implications for business performance (BP) by testing the strengths of the relationships between previously identified enablers, supply chain alignment and BP. Design/methodology/approach – A literature review develops hypotheses on the relationships between enablers, alignment and BP. A survey of medium-to-large UK manufacturing companies was conducted where the sample comprised 151 randomly selected companies, and the response rate was 56 per cent. Partial least square regression was used to test the hypothesis. Findings – Two types of supply chain alignment are defined – shareholder and customer – but only customer alignment (CA) has a direct positive impact on BP, while shareholder alignment (SA) is its antecedent. Top management support was shown to be an enabler of both shareholder and CA, while organisation structure, information sharing and performance measurement system enabled SA, while internal relational behaviour enabled CA. Research limitations/implications – Supply chain management research lacks knowledge on exactly how supply chain alignment can be achieved and what BP implications it has. This research provides a tested conceptual model to address this gap. Practical implications – The refined conceptual model provides precise guidance to practitioners on how to improve BP through supply chain alignment. Originality/value – Whilst the strategic management literature emphasizes the importance of SA, this study reveals another crucial alignment – CA – and shows its direct positive impact on BP.
