Muhammad Uthman el-Muhammady known as a thought figure in Malaysia. His life background is filled with a variety of life hues with an academic background. His thoughts highlighted the teachings of the Sunnah wal Jamaah. He also loudly opposed thoughts that were contrary to the beliefs of Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah, so that he considered to be an extremist. His personality became a charm in the world of thought in Malaysia through his fluency in English and argument. This study is based on Ecological Theory. Biography of Muhammad Uthman el-Muhammady from the perspective of ecological theory pioneered by Urie Bronfenbrenner (1979, 1986) shows that the formation of personality and character of this leading figure began at the microsystem level. The results of the study show how the background of Muhammad Uthman el-Muhammady who was educated by his late father in prioritizing knowledge from an early age has shaped his personality, which made him a revered figure in public because of his knowledge. His life pattern should be emulated by all types of society in shaping and creating an extraordinary personality.

During the Middle Ages, integumentum was a term widely used by “intellectuals” (Le Goff) in order to unfold the function of allegory: there is no story whose signification does not echo the sacred texts, and every sacred truth needs a story to bring it to life. Integumentum was a way to make this echo explicit: a sort of “poetical coat hiding a moral or philosophical truth” (John of Garland). We want to suggest that, while no one uses integumentum anymore in order to designate the rhetoric of modern and contemporary theoretical discourse, it is in ecological theory that we may rediscover its afterlives. Hence, integumentum is not only a form of telling truths, but a form of memory, as well. In this respect, Michel Serres may be considered the first “ecological” thinker, as he avoids abstract metalanguages as much as possible, relying instead on fictions and characters in his attempt to describe the world afresh. If integumentum resurfaces as the proper way of “ecologizing,” instead of modernizing (Latour), we would like to uncover, in Michel Serres’ works, the dialectic of subjects and objects.

Research shows that police work is one of the most stressful professions in the world, and police officers typically suffer a variety of physiological, psychological, and behavioral effects and symptoms. Thus, constant exposure to stressful situations requires resilient police officers. Legislation, social support, organizational factors, and individual resources all play different roles in maintaining resilience among police officers. The aim of this chapter is to contribute to a multisystemic ecological theory of police resilience. By applying this analytical approach, the authors illustrate how systems on different levels interact with each other reciprocally. They conclude that resilience is necessary for officers to have the capacity to act authoritatively in uncertain situations. The use of multisystemic social-ecological theory provides a deeper understanding of the processes that contribute to positive development in professionally stressful contexts.

In the previous research, it was proved that there were so many factors like students’ personal characteristics, family background, learning habits, previous academic background, college environment etc. which influence directly or indirectly the performance of college students in their university examination. The number of such factors has been identified by studying the previous work carried out by different researchers in different geographical areas and boundaries of the world. In many researches, when the opinions of the students and teaching faculties has been taken for similar factors to know the importance of these factors, the significant differences was found in their opinion for some factors. This paper investigates and compares the faculties’ assumptions with the students’ perceptions for various influencing factors. The comparison is done on the basis of their ranking of mean values of the factors allocated by students and faculties independently as per the importance of factors and one way ANOVA is used to check the significance of differences in their opinion. The result shows that there are similarities in the opinions of both, faculties and students, for most of the factors. But for some factors the significant differences in their opinion is also observed. The result of this research can be used for enhancing the performance of students by improving the influencing factors rank-wise. Top ranked factors may be given higher priority. Also this study will provide a platform for continuing the debate on the importance of various influencing factors for engineering students.

Reading Opening Window The world is a pearl word that describes the importance of reading habits among people. Reading can provide a wealth of knowledge and information from different disciplines in any part of the world. Seeing this, reading has an important role to educate the next generation of the nation. The term reading culture will be a mere discourse if it does not begin with reading habits from an early age. It is the habit that will build the reading culture in Indonesia. According to data from UNESCO in 2012 mentioned that reading interest in Indonesia is only 0.001. That is every 1000 residents only one person who has an interest in reading. The low interest in reading in Indonesia is of particular concern to academics. Teras Library is one of the solutions to instill interest and reading habits in elementary school early on. The habit that is planted early on can be a character that is embedded in students to adulthood. The Teras Library will bring the book closer to the students so that students can read the book casually according to the characteristics of elementary school-age children. With the cultivation of interest and reading habit from an early age, it is expected in the long run there is no longer the term "Generation Zero Book" in Indonesia.

‘Learning about the outside world’ looks at the nature versus nurture debate and asks: how do infants and toddlers learn about their world? Babies learn a vast amount from observation. Research shows that the observations that babies make are organized mentally into certain types of knowledge. ‘Naive psychology’ is about how they learn how to behave. Observing objects teachers babies how the external world works. This is ‘naive physics’. ‘Naive biology’ refers to how they learn about the natural world. Studies have shown that although babies appear to be fairly unaware of the world around them, both memory and attention function from an early age.

Charles Percy Snow was born in Leicester in 1905 and – like his fictional alter ago Lewis Eliot – determined from an early age to be remembered. The essays in this issue, some 60 years after he first wrote about ‘The Two Cultures’, give testimony that in this respect he has been successful. There is still merit in his essential contentions that there are graduates in the humanities who remain out of touch with scientific developments – and science graduates who don’t read novels. But the world has changed: the computer revolution and the World Wide Web have permitted far broader access to each of the two cultures. While the split between the humanities and the sciences may have grown less, another fissure has become prominent: the sharp divide between those I call the true children of the European enlightenment and those who reject these values, the ‘fideists’. This argument began at Christ’s College, Cambridge.

TO JUDGE by the evidence on the right, names can mean a great deal to some people!I must confess to never having been really happy with my name, one of the commonest in England and Wales. For this reason I began, at a very early age, somewhat secretively, to read telephone directories. I was in search of “the name”. There always seemed to be something limp-wristed and anaemic about mine. After all, even Tommy Atkins received his apotheosis in Kipling's Barrack Room Ballads:“God Bless You, Tommy Atkins, we're all the world to you.”

According to WHO data, the incidence of Down syndrome is 1 in 1,000 live births in the world. Down syndrome is a backward condition in the physical and mental development of children that results from abnormal chromosome development. However, these conditions are often too late to be realized by the parents of the sufferer. By conducting this study using the forward chaining method aims to help parents to do early detection of the level of retardation of Down syndrome. So, with the existence of this application, it is very petrifying for parents to carry out treatment from an early age in the right way. Thus, sufferers of dwon syndrome get maximum support and attention from the people closest and nearby so that children with dwon syndrome can grow happily and have a decent life like other normal children even though this dwon syndrome cannot be cured.

The need for apologetic equipment already in preschool catechesis. From a young age, children are busy making sense of the world around them. Their worldview is formed by influences and/or guidance and their own intrinsic participation. With the availability of information provided by the media in the 21st century, Christian children are exposed to not only a Christian worldview, but also to other dominating worldviews. This exposure can have a negative effect on the formation of a Christian worldview if not treated correctly. When leading Christian researchers assume the prerequisite that pre-school children do not have the ability to grasp aspects of faith due to their so-called inability for Abstrak thoughts, the results will be the underemphasis, neglect and even disapproval of equipment in terms of a Christian biblical worldview. The result of this view is that non-biblical worldviews will dominate and shape Christian children’s thoughts from an early age, while there is little to no equipment guiding them. This occurs notwithstanding that the Word of God demands believers to educate their children and to equip them from an early age with the necessary foundational tools and resources. Apologetical equipment in the understanding of God, man and the world ought to be part of this education in faith that leads to a biblical and Christian worldview from a young age.Contribution: In their first six years, children form important concepts and presuppositions that could influence and affect the rest of their lives. Especially also through the stories they watch and listen to, they are confronted with conflicting ideas and concepts from which they must make sense. Sufficient apologetic and catechetical resources on the cognitive level of pre-school children should be provided to parents and educators of these children. These materials of which worldviews should be an integral part of, can and should guide these young believers in the consideration of conflicting ideas and even the defence of what they believe.

AbstractThis paper describes the practical initiative to include Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Spanish educational system’s curriculum at an early age. This proposal is in line with the current trend of introducing AI in school curricula all over the world. To this end, we propose an Artificial Intelligence workshop for middle schools within the existing subject, Technology, Programming and Robotics. In order to test the suitability of introducing AI at an early age, we conducted the activities at a bilingual middle school in Madrid. As evaluation tools, a quiz and motivational study of the students concerning AI was carried out using Situational Motivational Scale (SIMS) before and after introducing the activities. Responses of 84 students were analysed and the conclusion was reached that it is slightly better to introduce AI at an early age.
