Enterprise and entrepreneurship are well-known phenomena that have their history development of over 300 years. However, in relation to the family business they are still not well explored in the literature of management. Based on the overview of management literature, this article is an attempt to construct a theoretical framework for the purpose of comparative analysis of family business and entrepreneurship issues in Poland and in Vietnam. As a result, their similarities and differences are revealed in order to propose adequate solutions and recommendations for business and authority to support and promote this specific business activity towards their prosperity and high performance.

We provide here a complement to recent work on family business, which has demonstrated the need to go beyond the generic definition of the family firm to place personal capitalism in an appropriate institutional, historical, and cultural framework. By focusing on the nineteenth‐ and twentieth‐century experiences in Britain, Spain, and Italy, we challenge the notion that in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries there was anything so simple as a Mediterranean model for family business. Rather, we demonstrate the need to consider family businesses in national and regional contexts if we are to understand their various capabilities and characteristics. We use similarities and differences in the experiences and responses of families and firms in the three countries to support this claim.

This article compares the Quick Response Manufacturing and Time-Based Competition methodologies and identifies their similarities and differences. This investigation deepens our understanding in terms of Quick Response Manufacturing pursuing a theoretical framework for applications in Brazilian companies. Data was collected from publications aimed at presenting and discussing the tactics and approaches of the methodologies. Similarity and difference classification tables are presented. The results reveal that 67% of all approaches compared were classified as analogous and 19% were not analogous. In addition, 14% of approaches presented the non-existence of similarities.

Background. The succession of family business has become the topic most often investigated within the family business (FB) research. As we would like to under‑ stand the phenomena we need to recognize its specificity, mechanism of operation, determinants and consequences. In this case, a range of determinants of the pro‑ cess has been investigated so far. But, the flood of publications seems to focus on specific issues, leaving aside some important aspects of the problem. Research aims. The purpose of the research is to summarize up to date knowledge on the determinants of the succession, and identify possible gaps in research, and thus potential areas for future inquiry. We concentrate on the culture pre‑ vailing in the community the firms operate in as a potentially significant factor determining the behavior of players involved in succession. Methodology. The discussion undertaken in the paper is theoretical, based on deduction. The determinants of the process of succession are synthetized on the base of literature review. As there is no succession without successor, we concentrate on the younger generation perspective and try to cover the complexity of the issues involved. Findings. We show important gaps in the research on family business succession, and point at culture embeddedness of the businesses, and the large promising area of intercultural comparative studies for our understanding of succession. We also indicate the legitimacy of a broader view on management issues by setting the problems in a specific cultural environment. The synthesis suggests the necessity of research on cultural determinants of succession, based on comparative analysis of cases from different cultural background. Moreover, it rises doubts if regularities of an organization operations observed in one cultural background would have universal value.

Every year many companies disappear from the market due to the fact that there is no possibility to find the successor, who could take over the business activity. The owners do not wish to transfer their business to the heirs, not even mentioning the external successors. Thanks to the indication of needs and barriers of the family business successions, it will be possible to develop tools and services, which will improve the succession process in family companies and will help to maintain family companies in the future. In the article, the author presents the latest state of knowledge about the needs of and barriers to the succession of family businesses in the Mazovia Region in Poland. The author focuses on the results of unstructured interviews with entrepreneurs from family companies and representatives of local authorities.

Abstract While emotion in family business is beginning to garner closer attention among researchers, the nexus of emotion management and governance has received little attention to date. In this essay, we reflect on and extend the Special Issue contributions by integrating the emotion management literature with the family business and governance literatures. We suggest a governance approach of emotion through a multilevel integrated framework. We introduce “emotion governance” as an overarching set of informal and formal mechanisms that are rooted and developed in the embedded family business contexts. We argue that emotion governance influences the explicit emotion management strategies of family business members at different stages: ex-ante (incentive alignment), during the process (education and support), and ex-post (monitoring). It thereby contributes to ensure their accountability in line with family business continuity. Considering the heterogeneity of family businesses, we capture nuances in our framework across family business archetypes through a series of propositions. We chart an agenda for future research to advance the development of a theory of family business governance inclusive of emotion.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the meaning of the family's reintegration attributed by the family experiencing it and to construct a representative theoretical model of this experience. Method: this is a qualitative study, conducted with four families with a total of 20 interviewees, with Symbolic Interactionism as theoretical framework, Grounded Theory as methodological, participant observation and the experience of musical making, mediating the interview as strategies of data collection. Results: a comparative analysis of the data led to the identification of the main category and to the construction of the theoretical model TRYING TO REBUILD WHAT WAS BROKEN. Conclusion: the family experiencing reintegration lives a process of reconstruction that allows to revisit situations of abandonment and review the behavior of caring and re-meaning of family coexistence. For the health professional, this study invites to think about this theme and to review the concept of family, in order to create their own sense of care.

Pakistani poets like Faiz or Habib Jalib have engraved their indistinguishable mark upon the sphere of renowned poets like Keats, Shelley and Wordsworth world. This study was undertaken to discern the similarities and differences between Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Percy Bysshe Shelley under the theoretical framework of the conflict theory proposed by Karl Marx. For this purpose, both poets' singular poems were selected: Mujh se pehli si muhabbat mere mehboob na maang and England in 1819. The textual analysis results of both poems conclude that although both poets are similar in their revolutionary and reformative ideas, their manner of expression differs.
