Sentiment analysis, also known as Opinion Mining is one of the hottest topic Nowadays. in various social networking sites is one of the hottest topic and field nowadays. Here, we are using Twitter, the biggest web destinations for people to communicate with each other to perform the sentiment analysis and opinion mining by extracting the tweets by various users. The users can post brief text updates in twitter as it only allows 140 characters in one text message. Hashtags helps to search for tweets dealing with the specified subject. In previous researches, binary classification usually relies on the sentiment polarity(Positive , Negative and Neutral). The advantage is that multiple meaning of the same world might have different polarity, so it can be easily identified. In Multiclass classification, many tweets of one class are classified as if they belong to the others. The Neutral class presented the lowest precision in all the researches happened in this particular area. The set of tweets containing text and emoticon data will be classified into 13 classes. From each tweet, we extract different set of features using one hot encoding algorithm and use machine learning algorithms to perform classification. The entire tweets will be divided into training data sets and testing data sets. Training dataset will be pre-processed and classified using various Artificial Neural Network algorithms such as Reccurent Neural Network, Convolutional Neural Network etc. Moreover, the same procedure will be followed for the Text and Emoticon data. The developed model or system will be tested using the testing dataset. More precise and correct accuracy can be obtained or experienced using this multiclass classification of text and emoticons. 4 Key performance indicators will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the corresponding approach.

Tourist reviews are the source of data that is going to be used for the travelers around the world to find the hotels for their stay according to their comfort. In this the hotels are ranked over the parameters or aspects considered keeping travelers in mind. This computation of data sets is done with the help of the machine learning algorithms and the neural network. The knowledge processing done over the reviews generates the sentiment score for each hotel with respect to the aspects defined. Here, the explicit , implicit and co-referential aspects are identified by suppressing the noise. This paper proposes the method that can be best used for the detection of the sentiments with the high accuracy.


In this digitized world, the Internet has become a prominent source to glean various kinds of information. In today’s scenario, people prefer virtual reality instead of one to one communication. The Majority of the population prefers social networking sites to voice themselves through posts, blogs, comments, likes, dislikes. Their sentiments can be found/traced using opinion mining or Sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis of social media text is a useful technique for identifying peoples’ positive, negative or neutral emotions/sentiments/opinions. Sentiment analysis has gained special attention by researchers from last few years. Traditionally many machine learning algorithms were used to implement it like navie bays, Support Vector Machine and many more. But to overcome the drawbacks of ML in terms of complex classification algorithms different deep learning-based algorithms are introduced like CNN, RNN, and HNN. In this paper, we have studied different deep learning algorithms and intended to propose a deep learning-based model to analyze the behavior of an individual using social media text. Results given by the proposed model can utilize in a range of different fields like business, education, industry, politics, psychology, security, etc.

Due to significant advances in sensor technology, studies towards activity recognition have gained interest and maturity in the last few years. Existing machine learning algorithms have demonstrated promising results by classifying activities whose instances have been already seen during training. Activity recognition methods based on real-life settings should cover a growing number of activities in various domains, whereby a significant part of instances will not be present in the training data set. However, to cover all possible activities in advance is a complex and expensive task. Concretely, we need a method that can extend the learning model to detect unseen activities without prior knowledge regarding sensor readings about those previously unseen activities. In this paper, we introduce an approach to leverage sensor data in discovering new unseen activities which were not present in the training set. We show that sensor readings can lead to promising results for zero-shot learning, whereby the necessary knowledge can be transferred from seen to unseen activities by using semantic similarity. The evaluation conducted on two data sets extracted from the well-known CASAS datasets show that the proposed zero-shot learning approach achieves a high performance in recognizing unseen (i.e., not present in the training dataset) new activities.

Opinion mining and sentiment analysis are valuable to extract the useful subjective information out of text documents. Predicting the customer’s opinion on amazon products has several benefits like reducing customer churn, agent monitoring, handling multiple customers, tracking overall customer satisfaction, quick escalations, and upselling opportunities. However, performing sentiment analysis is a challenging task for the researchers in order to find the users sentiments from the large datasets, because of its unstructured nature, slangs, misspells and abbreviations. To address this problem, a new proposed system is developed in this research study. Here, the proposed system comprises of four major phases; data collection, pre-processing, key word extraction, and classification. Initially, the input data were collected from the dataset: amazon customer review. After collecting the data, preprocessing was carried-out for enhancing the quality of collected data. The pre-processing phase comprises of three systems; lemmatization, review spam detection, and removal of stop-words and URLs. Then, an effective topic modelling approach Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) along with modified Possibilistic Fuzzy C-Means (PFCM) was applied to extract the keywords and also helps in identifying the concerned topics. The extracted keywords were classified into three forms (positive, negative and neutral) by applying an effective machine learning classifier: Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The experimental outcome showed that the proposed system enhanced the accuracy in sentiment analysis up to 6-20% related to the existing systems.

Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), a fine-grained task of opinion mining, which aims to extract sentiment of specific target from text, is an important task in many real-world applications, especially in the legal field. Therefore, in this paper, we study the problem of limitation of labeled training data required and ignorance of in-domain knowledge representation for End-to-End Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (E2E-ABSA) in legal field. We proposed a new method under deep learning framework, named Semi-ETEKGs, which applied E2E framework using knowledge graph (KG) embedding in legal field after data augmentation (DA). Specifically, we pre-trained the BERT embedding and in-domain KG embedding for unlabeled data and labeled data with case elements after DA, and then we put two embeddings into the E2E framework to classify the polarity of target-entity. Finally, we built a case-related dataset based on a popular benchmark for ABSA to prove the efficiency of Semi-ETEKGs, and experiments on case-related dataset from microblog comments show that our proposed model outperforms the other compared methods significantly.

Purpose The fabulous results of convolution neural networks in image-related tasks attracted attention of text mining, sentiment analysis and other text analysis researchers. It is, however, difficult to find enough data for feeding such networks, optimize their parameters, and make the right design choices when constructing network architectures. The purpose of this paper is to present the creation steps of two big data sets of song emotions. The authors also explore usage of convolution and max-pooling neural layers on song lyrics, product and movie review text data sets. Three variants of a simple and flexible neural network architecture are also compared. Design/methodology/approach The intention was to spot any important patterns that can serve as guidelines for parameter optimization of similar models. The authors also wanted to identify architecture design choices which lead to high performing sentiment analysis models. To this end, the authors conducted a series of experiments with neural architectures of various configurations. Findings The results indicate that parallel convolutions of filter lengths up to 3 are usually enough for capturing relevant text features. Also, max-pooling region size should be adapted to the length of text documents for producing the best feature maps. Originality/value Top results the authors got are obtained with feature maps of lengths 6–18. An improvement on future neural network models for sentiment analysis could be generating sentiment polarity prediction of documents using aggregation of predictions on smaller excerpt of the entire text.

This article presents an analysis of the effectiveness of object detection in digital images with the application of a limited quantity of input. The possibility of using a limited set of learning data was achieved by developing a detailed scenario of the task, which strictly defined the conditions of detector operation in the considered case of a convolutional neural network. The described solution utilizes known architectures of deep neural networks in the process of learning and object detection. The article presents comparisons of results from detecting the most popular deep neural networks while maintaining a limited training set composed of a specific number of selected images from diagnostic video. The analyzed input material was recorded during an inspection flight conducted along high-voltage lines. The object detector was built for a power insulator. The main contribution of the presented papier is the evidence that a limited training set (in our case, just 60 training frames) could be used for object detection, assuming an outdoor scenario with low variability of environmental conditions. The decision of which network will generate the best result for such a limited training set is not a trivial task. Conducted research suggests that the deep neural networks will achieve different levels of effectiveness depending on the amount of training data. The most beneficial results were obtained for two convolutional neural networks: the faster region-convolutional neural network (faster R-CNN) and the region-based fully convolutional network (R-FCN). Faster R-CNN reached the highest AP (average precision) at a level of 0.8 for 60 frames. The R-FCN model gained a worse AP result; however, it can be noted that the relationship between the number of input samples and the obtained results has a significantly lower influence than in the case of other CNN models, which, in the authors’ assessment, is a desired feature in the case of a limited training set.

In recent years, there is a rapid growth in online communication. There are many social networking sites and related mobile applications, and some more are still emerging. Huge amount of data is generated by these sites everyday and this data can be used as a source for various analysis purposes. Twitter is one of the most popular networking sites with millions of users. There are users with different views and varieties of reviews in the form of tweets are generated by them. Nowadays Opinion Mining has become an emerging topic of research due to lot of opinionated data available on Blogs & social networking sites. Tracking different types of opinions & summarizing them can provide valuable insight to different types of opinions to users who use Social networking sites to get reviews about any product, service or any topic. Analysis of opinions & its classification on the basis of polarity (positive, negative, neutral) is a challenging task. Lot of work has been done on sentiment analysis of twitter data and lot needs to be done. In this paper we discuss the levels, approaches of sentiment analysis, sentiment analysis of twitter data, existing tools available for sentiment analysis and the steps involved for same. Two approaches are discussed with an example which works on machine learning and lexicon based respectively.


The rapid increase in technology made people across the world use social networking sites to express their opinions on a topic, product or service. The success of a healthcare service directly depends on its users. If a majority of users like the service then it is a success otherwise, the service needs to be improvised. For improvising the service, the users' opinions need to be analyzed. Manually extracting and analyzing the content present on the web is a tedious task. This gave rise to a new research area called Sentiment Analysis. It is otherwise known as opinion mining. It is being used by many health organizations to make effective decisions on their service. This paper presents the sentiment analysis of patients' opinions on hospitals which is mainly used to improve healthcare service. This is implemented using a lexicon-based methodology to analyze the sentiment.

Spoken language is fundamentally different from the written language in that it contains frequent disfluencies or parts of an utterance that are corrected by the speaker. Disfluency detection (removing these disfluencies) is desirable to clean the input for use in downstream NLP tasks. Most existing approaches to disfluency detection heavily rely on human-annotated data, which is scarce and expensive to obtain in practice. To tackle the training data bottleneck, in this work, we investigate methods for combining self-supervised learning and active learning for disfluency detection. First, we construct large-scale pseudo training data by randomly adding or deleting words from unlabeled data and propose two self-supervised pre-training tasks: (i) a tagging task to detect the added noisy words and (ii) sentence classification to distinguish original sentences from grammatically incorrect sentences. We then combine these two tasks to jointly pre-train a neural network. The pre-trained neural network is then fine-tuned using human-annotated disfluency detection training data. The self-supervised learning method can capture task-special knowledge for disfluency detection and achieve better performance when fine-tuning on a small annotated dataset compared to other supervised methods. However, limited in that the pseudo training data are generated based on simple heuristics and cannot fully cover all the disfluency patterns, there is still a performance gap compared to the supervised models trained on the full training dataset. We further explore how to bridge the performance gap by integrating active learning during the fine-tuning process. Active learning strives to reduce annotation costs by choosing the most critical examples to label and can address the weakness of self-supervised learning with a small annotated dataset. We show that by combining self-supervised learning with active learning, our model is able to match state-of-the-art performance with just about 10% of the original training data on both the commonly used English Switchboard test set and a set of in-house annotated Chinese data.
