scholarly journals Addressing the Challenge of an Efficient Billboard Management in Accra Metropolitan Area

The urban planning of Accra has become very essential to develop the capital city of Ghana. The inability of the local government authority to efficiently managed billboards in the city by easily tracking the locations of installed billboards and effectively segregate the expired mounted billboards from the unexpired ones has become a major challenge. The need for an efficient system to properly manage billboards within Accra Metropolitan Assembly has become very essential. A web base system is developed to efficiently manage all billboards installed within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in other to segregate the expired billboards from the unexpired ones and to improve revenue collection for the local authority. The Rapid Application Development model is adopted in designing the system using PHP, MySQL database, Bootstrap and JavaScript technologies. The developed system proves to be very efficient in managing billboards at various locations within Accra and the system also facilitates the easy collection of revenue for the metropolitan assembly.

This paper provides the organizational structure of institu-tional investment in the city of Bandung.Dalam Undang-Undang Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2014 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah dise-butkan mengenai urusan wajib dan urusan pilihan, dimana salah satu urusan wajib ini adalah pena-naman modal, kemudian dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 38 Tahun 2007 tentang Pembagian urusan antara pemerintah pusat, pemerintah provinsi, dan pemerintah kabupaten/kota, salah satu kewenangan pemerintah daerah adalah dalam bidang penanaman modal, di pemerintahan Kota Bandung, penanaman modal yang merupakan urusan wajib dan salah satu kewenangan pemerintah daerah ditempatkan dalam struktur organisasi Bappeda Kota Bandung yaitu pada Bidang Pena-naman Modal, ini tentu saja berseberangan dengan UU No. 32 Tahun 2004/UU No. 23 Tahun 2014 dan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 38 Tahun 2007. Artikel ini berisi tentang struktur organisasi kelem-bagaan penanaman modal di Kota Bandung.

Abstract   Depok city, West Java, Indonesia is located in the south of Jakarta, between Jakarta and Bogor. This city has 2.1 million people in 2016 with a high mobility society characteristic. Therefore, they need adequate transportation mode for supporting their activities. The availability of information for public transportation route is a mandatory requirement for Depok city. The use of Internet technology for the implementation of geographic information system is expected to contribute to the success factor of public transportation service. In this study, the proposed system utilized Google Maps in processing and visualizing the public transport route map. The system is designed using Rapid Application Development software development that suitable for faster system development. With this information system, the community is expected to be easier to get information about public transport in Depok city. In addition, the purposed system could give the benefits, i.e. increasing the use of public transport, decreasing the use of private vehicle in people daily activities, and reducing the traffic jams in the city. The proposed system this study was a web-based GIS application that provides information about public transport service in the city of Depok.   Keywords: Rapid Application Development, Geographic Information System, Public Transportation, Web   Abstrak   Kota Depok adalah sebuah kota di provinsi Jawa barat yang terletak tepat di selatan jakarta, yakni diantara Jakarta dan bogor. Populasi kota Depok pada tahun 2016 mencapai 2,1 juta penduduk dengan mobilitas masyarakatnya yang tinggi. Hal tersebut menjadikan masyarakat kota Depok sangat membutuhkan moda transportasi yang memadai untuk menjalankan segala aktifitasnya. Kemudahan informasi mengenai rute rute transportasi umum juga menjadi sebuah kebutuhan wajib bagi masyarakat kota Depok. Pemanfaatan teknologi internet untuk membangun sebuah sistem informasi geografis diharapkan dapat berkontribusi memberikan kemudahan bagi masyarakat dalam mendapatkan rute angkutan umum. Sistem ini memanfaatkan Google Maps dalam mengolah dan memvisualisasikan peta rute angkutan umum. Sistem dirancang dengan menggunakan metode pengembangan perangkat lunak Rapid Application Development, dengan harapan sistem lebih cepat diimplementasikan. Dengan adanya sistem informasi ini, diharapkan masyarakat lebih mudah mendapatkan informasi mengenai rute angkutan umum di kota Depok. Selain itu tujuan penelitian ini dapat berdampak peningkatan penggunaan transportasi umum oleh masyarakat dibandingkan penggunaan kendaraan pribadi saat melakukan aktifitas harian yang secara tidak langsung dapat mengurangi angka kemacetan di kota Depok. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah aplikasi GIS berbasis web yang memberikan informasi rute rute angkutan umum di kota Depok.   Kata kunci: Rapid Application Development, Sistem Informasi Geografis, Transportasi Umum, Web


This study focused on developing a Smart Bin Prototype by integrating Internet of Things(IoT) Technology in a Barangay Based Material Recovery Facilities (BBMRF) that is capable of printing a receipts based on the equivalent value of recyclable waste deposited in the bin which is called the e-Recycle Bin. The generated data from the e-Recycle Bin prototype is send in the clouds used by the web application to generate analytical report for monitoring purposes. This research used descriptive method and Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology in developing the e-Recycle Bin prototype. This study explored the used IoT components namely, Rapsberry pi, Arduino Mega, SIM800 GSM Module, Straight Bar Load Sensor, Ultrasonic Sensor, IR Proximity Sensor, 2x4 LCD Monitor, and thermal printer. The IT experts evaluated the project and at overall weighted mean of 4.91 and a qualitative description of Very High Extent of compliance with ISO 25010:2015 Software Quality Requirements. This study sought the implementation of the developed system in the City of Ilagan to help mitigate solid waste problems and encourage waste recycling among the city residents.

Perusahaan pembiayaan (finance) adalah badan usaha yang melakukan kegiatan pembiayaan untuk pengadaan barang atau jasa (POJK No. 29/2014). Perkembangan perusahaan pembiayaan di wilayah perkotaan, khususnya di wilayah kota Manado mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat, dilihat dari banyaknya perusahaan pembiayaan yang membuka cabang di Manado. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat suatu aplikasi pemetaan lokasi nasabah FIFGROUP di Kota Manado berbasis android yang interaktif dan visualisasi yang menarik dalam pencarian peta dan sebagai informasi yang diinginkan oleh perusahaan sehingga mempermudah dan membantu dalam proses pendataan nasabah FIFGROUP. Android adalah sebuah sistem operasi untuk perangkat mobile berbasis linux yang mencakup sistem operasi, middleware dan aplikasi. Android menyediakan platform terbuka bagi para pengembang untuk menciptakan aplikasi mereka. Awalnya, Google Inc. membeli Android Inc. yang merupakan pendatang baru yang membuat piranti lunak untuk ponsel atau smartphone. Metode penelitian dalam pembuatan aplikasi pemetaan lokasi nasabah FIFGROUP kota manado ini menggunakan Rapid Application Development (RAD).Kata Kunci: Android, FIFGROUP, Pemetaan, Rapid Application Development (RAD). Finance company is a business entity that carries out financing activities for the procurement of goods or services (POJK No. 29/2014). FIFGROUP currently only provides data in the form of print media so that sometimes collectors find it difficult to get the right address for customers. This study aims to create an application mapping location of FIFGROUP customers in the city of Manado based on Android which draws visualization in map searches and as information desired by the company so as to facilitate and assist in the FIFGROUP customer data collection process. Android is an operating system for Linux-based mobile devices that includes operating systems, middleware and applications. Android provides an open platform for developers to create their applications. One example of the growing information technology today is mobile learning, mobile learning which refers to mobile technology as a learning medium. Mobile learning is learning that is unique for each student to access learning materials anywhere, anytime. Mobile learning is suitable as a model of learning for the students to make it easier to get an understanding of a given subject, such as math is pretty complicated and always using formulas.The design method that I use is the case study method, namely, learning, searching and collecting data related to the study. While the development of engineering design software application programs that will be used by the author is the method of Rapid Application Development (RAD), which consists of 4 stages: Requirements Planning Phase, User Design Phase, Construction Phase and Phase Cotuver.

Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) merupakan suatu kegiatan usaha menghasilkan suatu produk komoditi yang berada pada level menengah kebawah, dimana sektor usaha ini lebih menyentuh langsung dalam hal peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat luas yang pada umumnya adalah masyarakat menengah kebawah, sektor usaha UKM mampu memberikan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang signifikan walaupun pertumbuhannya tidak cepat seperti sektor perekonomian yang lain. Rancang bangun model perangkat lunak UKM Kota Palembang diharapkan mampu memberikan stimulus yang pesat terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi khususnya sektor UKM Kota Palembang serta membantu pihak – pihak yang terkait baik instansi yang membutuhkan, masyarakat luas dan para inventor, dimana dalam mengembangkan rancang bangun model perangkat lunak UKM Kota Palembang meggunakan 2 metode yaitu metode Database Lifecylce untuk pengembangan Database sebagai media penyimpanan data melalui beberapa proses antara lain Design Database secara Konseptual, Design Database secara Logikal serta Design Database secara Fisikal dan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD) untuk pengembangan User Interface sebagai rancangan tampilan terhadap rancang bangun model perangkat lunak UKM Kota Palembang.

 Aplikasi Penentuan Jenis Suara pada Paduan Suara merupakan sebuah aplikasi yang dikembangkan untuk mengetahui jenis suara seseorang dengan memanfaatkan handphone Android. Penentuan Jenis Suara biasanya dilakukan secara manual dengan mengikuti beberapa tahap seperti tes jangkauan suara, dan warna suara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sebuah aplikasi Penentuan Jenis Suara berbasis mobile yang dapat digunakan pada smartphone Android dengan menggunakan metode pengembangan aplikasi RAD(Rapid Application Development). Metode RAD ini terdiri dari 4 fase yaitu fase analisis persyaratan, fase analisis modeling, fase desain modeling, dan konstruksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat membantu menentukan jenis suara untuk orang/masyarakat umum yang ingin bergabung di paduan suara.

This article explores the experience of living among diverse infrastructural configurations in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and forms of stigmatisation that arise as a result. In this capital city that experiences extremely cold winters, the provision of heat is a seasonal necessity. Following a history of socialist-era, centrally provided heating, Ulaanbaatar is now made up of a core area of apartments and other buildings undergoing increased expansion, surrounded by vast areas of fenced land plots ( ger districts) not connected to centrally provided heating. In these areas, residents have historically heated their homes through burning coal, a technique that has resulted in seasonal air pollution. Expanding out from Wacquant’s definition of territorial stigmatisation, this article discusses the links between heat generation, air pollution and environmental stigmatisation arising from residents’ association with or proximity to the effects of heat generation and/or infrastructural lack. This type of stigma complexifies the normative divide between the city’s two main built areas. Residents’ attempts to mitigate forms of building and infrastructural ‘quality’ or chanar (in Mongolian) form ways of negotiating their position as they seek different kinds of property. Here, not only are bodies vulnerable to forms of pollution (both air and otherwise), but also buildings and infrastructure are vulnerable to disrepair. Residents’ assessments of infrastructural and building quality move beyond any categorisation of them being a clear ‘resistance’ to deteriorating infrastructural conditions. Instead, an ethnographic lens that positions the viewpoint of the city through these residential experiences reveals a reconceptualisation of the city that challenges infrastructurally determined normative assumptions.
