scholarly journals Research of the Ore Dressability of the Khandiza Polymetallic Ore Deposit

The article discusses the results of technological studies on the concentration of polymetallic ore of the Chinarsay deposit. The results of studies of the material composition and flotation concentration options for technological samples of ore from the Chinarsay deposit are presented. The results of studying the material composition of ore based on spectral, chemical and rational analysis are presented. It has been established that industrially valuable ore components are lead, zinc and copper, the contents of which are given. It was shown that ore minerals are in close intergrowth with non-metallic ones - quartz, sericite, chlorite, carbonate, etc. It is noted that the studies were carried out in two directions: collective flotation of all ore minerals with further selection of the collective concentrate into lead, zinc, copper and pyrite concentrates and direct collective selective flotation to produce sequentially lead-copper, zinc and pyrite concentrates. As a result of enrichment, lead, zinc and copper concentrates are selected that meet the production requirements.

Results. The outcomes of ore material composition study have been delivered based on spectral, chemical and rational analysis. It has been determined that industrially valuable ore components are lead, zinc and copper, the contents of which are presented. It has been shown that ore minerals are in tight twinning with nonmetallic minerals, i.e. quartz, sericite, chlorite, carbonate, etc. Summary. As a result of concentration, lead, zinc and copper concentrates have been dressed. The concentrated meet industrial requirements.

Opening an underground mine or part of it presents complex and responsible issue, which affects the economy and effectiveness of the mine operation. This paper presents a methodology for selecting the optimal variant for opening, the lead-zinc ore mine Toranica, Macedonia. Six variants of opening and haulage of ore and waste rocks in the deeper parts of the ore deposit have been considered. After the performed analysis, the optimal variant for opening and haulage for the Toranica mine was determined.

The paper introduces a number of new research results on the characteristics of lead - zinc ores in Phia Dam - Khuoi Man areas based on the application of traditional geological methods, combining the method of researching material composition and method statistical maths. In the study area, there are two forms of ore bodies with characteristics described as below: the first form consists of ore bodies developed along the stratabound bedding surface, are mainly distributed in either anticlinal structures (i.e. Phia Dam region) or cuesta (i.e. Khuoi Man region) and the second form consists of ore bodies in lodes, filled in cracks or zones of fracture along the northwest – southeast faults. Primary ore minerals are mainly galena, sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, etc. and gangue minerals are calcite, dolomite, and quartz. Ore structures are nests, veins, disseminated veins, banded, speckled, or sometimes breccia - like ones. The relevant and controlling factors of lead-zinc mineralization in Phia Dam - Khuoi Man region are the northwest - southeast fault system and the lithostratigraphy. Ores are of either mesothermal or epithermal deposits (temperatures varies from 162 to 308 degrees Celcius), with a specific symbiotic combination of quartz - sphalerite - galena - chancopyrite.

The ore compositions in a certain newly proven tin polymetallic ore are complicated, closely mosaic between different minerals and fine-grained disseminated. The main compositions in the ore exist mostly in the form of sulfide, and are associated partly with oxidized ore. It is difficult to separate each metallic mineral to accept qualified concentrates and ensure higher recovery rates. Aiming at characteristics and occurrences of the ore, the project emphatically selects and contrasts the test flow of selective flotation, partial bulk flotation and flotation-and-gravity-concentration, and uses effective reagent system to control the impurity contents in every concentrate, and strengthen the recovery of associated silver at the same time of producing major metallic minerals. Metallic minerals, including copper, lead, zinc, tin, sulfur and silver, can be fully recovered by adopting combined procedure of selective flotation and gravity concentration, and other associated components in the ore are also recovered comprehensively, so the technology indexes of various products obtained are excellent.

The geoelectrochemical-extraction measurement is a ore prospecting method of deep-penetrating geochemistry, by using the element receptors to extract the mobile metal ions from the soil under the artificial electric field to look for the hidden ore deposit. The study of using the geoelectrochemical-extraction measurement method to look for blind lead-zinc ore deposit has been carried out in the Fuzichong lead-zinc polymetallic ore deposit and Panlong lead-zinc ore deposit of Guangxi, which resulted in the clearly geoelectrochemical anormaly above the known ore bodies. And the ore prospecting forecast conducted in the unknown ore regions shows that it is feasible to use the geoelectrochemical-extraction measurement method to expore the deep hidden lead-zinc ore deposits.

Luziyuan Pb-Zn-Fe polymetallic ore deposit is a large-size ore deposit. Its ore minerals were systematically studied on thin section and polished section microscope observation for the first time in this paper. The results show that the main metal sulfides include sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite. According to the geological features, mineral characteristics and penetration relationship of minerals, the metallogenic can be divided into four stages: primary sedimentary stage, sedimentary metamorphism stage, hydrothermal stage and oxidation stage. The deposit is a superimposed deposit associated with magma and hydrothermal caused by buried rock bodies during Yanshannian.

The paper focuses on the study of the gold-bearing ore dressability. According to technological research, the average gold content is 11.88 g/t. The silver content is insignificant – 2.43 g/t. Main ore minerals in the sample are pyrite and pyrrhotite. According to mineralogical and X-ray structural analysis, the average content of these minerals in the ore is about 6 % (in total). Main rock-forming minerals of the original ore are: quartz (60.1 %), quartz-chlorite-mica aggregates (3.8 %), carbonates (7.1 %). According to the study results, it was found that the gold recovery in the GRG test was 72.75 % with a total concentrate yield of 1.34 % and a content of 664.78 g/t. At the same time, the gold content in tailings was 3.29 g/t. A stage test showed that it is advisable to use a two-stage scheme for ore processing by gravity technology only. The first stage is in the grinding cycle with the 60–70 % ore size, and the second stage is with the final classifier overflow size of 90 % –0.071 mm. Centrifugal separation has high performance as a free gold recovery operation in the grinding cycle. A concentrate with a gold content of 2426 g/t was obtained with a yield of 0.31 % and a recovery of 63.74 %. The beneficiation of first stage tailings ground to 90 % –0.071 mm at the KC-CVD concentrator (modeling) made it possible to extract gold into a total gravity concentrate (KC-MD + KC-CVD) of 87.25 % with a concentrate yield of 22.63 %. The gold content in tailings was 1.97 g/t. The results of gravity and flotation concentration of the original ore indicate the feasibility of using a combined gravity-flotation technological scheme. In a closed experiment of the initial ore beneficiation according to the gravity-flotation scheme at a natural pH of the pulp (without adding acid), the following products were obtained: gravity concentrate with a gold content of 2426 g/t at a yield of 0.31 % and recovery of 64.06 %; flotation concentrate (after the II cleaning) with a gold content of 122 g/t at a yield of 2.90 % and recovery of 33.01 %; the total gold recovery in the gravity-flotation concentrate was 94.07 % with a yield of 3.21 % and an Au content of 345.87 g/t, the gold content in the flotation tailings was 0.72 g/t.
