scholarly journals Comprehensive Bibliometric Analysis of Published Research in Cyber Physical System from 2009 to 2018

This study was conducted to provide a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of published research on Cyber Physical System in order to understand the trends and compare the publications contributions among different regions, institutions, authors, subject areas and other domains. The publications on the CPS were retrieved from Scopus database from 2009 -2018. A total of 2,486 articles were identified after different search steps. The analysis was done using bibliometric procedure. The largest number of publications were recorded in 2018 (781). The results further revealed that, China contributed the highest proportion of 817(32.8%) publications, the USA was ranked second with total publications of 733 (29.5%). The most productive journals of publications were IFAC Papersonline and IEEE Access with 223 (9%) publications and total citation of 27,518. Similarly, the most productive authors were Shi, Liaoshan with 19 (H-index 11) and Yang, Guanghong Hong with 14 (H-index 7), these 2 top authors has cumulative citations of 3,421. The bibliometric analysis of subject area revealed that, Engineering has the highest number of publications with 765 (30.8%), followed by computer sciences with 605 (24.3%). However, among the top areas of research in CPS, business, management and accounting is the least with the with only 54 (2.2%) publications from 2009 to 2018. Moreover, keywords, affiliations and funding agencies statistics were reported. Finally, this study provide a sound ground and motivation for scholars from different fields to engage in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaborations for successful research outcome.

This research was carried out to provide a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of published research on Internet of Thing (IoT) in order to appreciate the trends and compare the publications contributions among different countries, institutions, authors, subject areas and other knowledge domains. The publications on the IoT were retrieved from Scopus database covering a period of 2009 -2018. A total of 9,367 articles were identified after different search steps. The analyses were conducted using bibliometric procedure. The largest number of publications were recorded in 2018 (3,712). The results further revealed that, China contributed the highest proportion of 3018(32.2%) publications, the USA was ranked second with total publications of 1348 (14.4%). The most productive journals of publications were IEEE Access and IEEE Internet of Things Journal with 465 publications each with total citation of 103,978. Similarly, the most productive authors were Yang, Laurence with 29 (h-Index 14), followed by Sangaiah, with 27 (h-Index) while Rodrigues is the least with 20 (h-Index). The top two authors has cumulative citations of 1,331. The bibliometric analysis of subject area revealed that, Computer Science with 2,987 (32%) followed by Engineering with 2597 (27.7%). However, among the top areas of research in IoT, business, management and accounting is ninth with a contribution of 188 (2%) publications only from 2009 to 2018. Additionally, affiliations, keywords, language, funding agencies information were clearly reported. Finally, this study provide an important inside for researchers in all the field of learning and serve as motivation for engagement in research activities as well as collaborations among scientist for meaningful research output.

Background: Scopus is regularly covering Current Drug Metabolism from 2000 onwards. Objective: The major objective is to perform the 1st bibliometric analysis of Current Drug Metabolism (CDM). Methods: The data was retrieved from Scopus in April-May 2020 for detail analysis. Results: The total number of publications was found to be 1551, with 955 reviews (61.57%) and 466 articles (30.05%). From 2000 onwards, we calculated the relative growth rate and doubling time. Based on the number of publications, total 4418 authors, 3235 institutions and 83 countries were directly involved in all publications. M.A. Kamal is the highly productive scientist with fifty-three (53 or 3.73%) publications, King Abdulaziz University is the top university with the highest number of publications (58 or 4.13%) and the USA is the top-ranked country with 365 publications (25.96%). We also provided the h-index, total citations (TC), h-index without self-citations (WSC) and total WSC of the top ten authors, universities and countries. In citations analysis, Prof. Zhou S.F. was the top scientist with the highest (1594) number of citations. In institutional category Department of Drug Metabolism, Merck Research Laboratories, Rahway, United States, is the top ranked institutes with 654 total citations. While, United States is the top-ranked country with 18409 total citations. In co-words analysis, 3387, 30564 and 17333 terms in titles of the manuscripts, abstracts and keywords were recorded, respectively. This indicated that CDM principally focused on understanding drug development ranging from its efficacy to delivery, metabolism, distribution, safety and mechanism of actions. Similarly, various specific drugs were thoroughly discussed in publications. Various enzymatic, genetics, proteins and cancer-related aspects were also described. For data presentations, we used VOSviewer graphical maps. Conclusion: The data confirm that CDM showed continuous growth in the number of publications and citations. However significant measures are needed to make overall progress and improve the rankings in relevant categories.

Abstract Background: There have been increased interests in the joint preserving procedures of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). This study aims to present a bibliometric analysis of the publications of this field during this period (1999–2019).Method: Publications related to joint preserving procedures of ONFH were searched from the Science Citation Index-Expanded Web of Science. The data were analyzed by using bibliometric methodology. Additionally, the work made a graphical mapping by using the VOS viewer software. This was used for bibliographic coupling, co-authorship, co-citation, co-occurrence analysis and to investigate the publication trends in this field.Results: A total of 3467 articles were included. The number of publications were increasing globally every year. China made the most publications. But the USA made the highest contributions to the global research with the most citations and the highest H-index. CLINICAL ORTHOPAEDICS AND RELATED RESEARCH had the highest publication number. Studies could be classified into four clusters: process and clinical treatment, risk factors and diagnosis, pathophysiology, and basic research. Pathophysiology and basic research were predicted as the next hot topics in joint preserving procedures of ONFH.Conclusion: Base on the current global trends, it has been growing in a number of publications of joint preserving procedures of ONFH since 1999. The USA was the leading country in global research in this field. Pathophysiology and basic research may be the next hot spots, which need more attention in the future.

Purpose In 2017, the Journal of Knowledge Management (JKM) celebrates its 20th anniversary. This study aims to show an updated analysis of their publications to provide a general overview of the journal, focusing on a bibliometric analysis of its publications between 1997 and 2016. Design/methodology/approach The methodology involves two procedures: a performance analysis and a science mapping analysis of JKM. The performance analysis uses a series of bibliometric indicators such as h-index, productivity and citations. This analysis considers different dimensions, including papers, authors, universities and countries. VOSviewer software is used to carry out the mapping of science of JKM, which, based on the concurrence of key words and co-citation points of view, seeks to graphically analyze the structure of the references of this journal. Findings There is a positive evolution in the number of publications (although with certain oscillations), which shows a growing interest in publishing in JKM. The USA and the UK lead the publications in this journal, although at a regional level, Europe is the most productive. The low participation of emerging economies in JKM is also observed. Practical implications The paper will identify the leading trends in the journal in terms of papers, authors, institutions, countries, journals and keywords. This study is useful for obtaining a quick snapshot of what is happening in the journal. Originality/value From the historical record of JKM publications, this study presents an exclusive bibliometric analysis of its publications until 2016 and identifies its main trends.

ObjectivesTo date, radiomics has been applied in oncology for over a decade and has shown great progress. We used a bibliometric analysis to analyze the publications of radiomics in oncology to clearly illustrate the current situation and future trends and encourage more researchers to participate in radiomics research in oncology.MethodsPublications for radiomics in oncology were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). WoSCC data were collected, and CiteSpace was used for a bibliometric analysis of countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and references pertaining to this field. The state of research and areas of focus were analyzed through burst detection.ResultsA total of 7,199 pieces of literature concerning radiomics in oncology were analyzed on CiteSpace. The number of publications has undergone rapid growth and continues to increase. The USA and Chinese Academy of Sciences are found to be the most prolific country and institution, respectively. In terms of journals and co-cited journals, Scientific Reports is ranked highest with respect to the number of publications, and Radiology is ranked highest among co-cited journals. Moreover, Jie Tian has published the most publications, and Phillipe Lambin is the most cited author. A paper published by Gillies et al. presents the highest citation counts. Artificial intelligence (AI), segmentation methods, and the use of radiomics for classification and diagnosis in oncology are major areas of focus in this field. Test-retest statistics, including reproducibility and statistical methods of radiomics research, the relation between genomics and radiomics, and applications of radiomics to sarcoma and intensity-modulated radiotherapy, are frontier areas of this field.ConclusionTo our knowledge, this is the first study to provide an overview of the literature related to radiomics in oncology and may inspire researchers from multiple disciplines to engage in radiomics-related research.

Abstract Background: Dementia is a serious and growing health problem, and since most people with dementia live at home, caring responsibilities generally fall to family members. Caregivers are often inadequately supported by formal health services and have poorer psychological and physical health. Our study aimed to compare the contributions of publications from different countries, institutions and authors and present a bibliometric analysis to determine the hotspots and trends in research on the health of and interventions for family dementia caregivers. Methods : Studies published during 1988-2018 were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science. Each abstract of publications was evaluated to obtain the basic information. A bibliometric analysis was used to evaluate the number or cooperation networks of publications, countries, institutions, journals, citations, authors, references, and keywords. The resulting articles were analyzed descriptively, and the publication keywords were visualized using VOSviewer. Results: Five hundred forty-two articles were identified.The annual number of relevant publications has steadily increased since approximately 2006. The USA has the highest number of publications (36.2%), followed by the UK (12.9%). China entered the field late, but research conducted in China has rapidly developed. The most productive institution, journal, and author in this field are University College London, the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, and Orrell M from the UK, respectively. A co-occurrence analysis of the keywords reveals a mainstream research focus on burden, depression, quality of life, and corresponding interventions for people with dementia caregivers. The keywords “psychosocial intervention”, “long-term”, “e-learning/online”, “communication”, and “qualitative research” reflect the latest hotspots, appearing in approximately 2017-2018. Conclusion: Our study details the performance statistics, main topics and trends research on the health of and interventions for dementia caregivers from 1988 to 2018 and provides a comprehensive analysis. Abstract: Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has influenced all continents, prompting extraordinary efforts on worldwide research and publications to alleviate the crisis. Methods: We conducted a bibliometric review using Scopus to assess its impact on global scientific production. We searched for the following terms in titles, abstracts, and keywords to identify relevant literature published until 9th January 2021: 2019 novel coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, coronavirus disease-19, coronavirus disease 2019. Results: Our results retrieved 86,624 documents from 159 countries with the USA, China, and UK being the top three contributors. Overall citation count was 769,811 with documents from China being cited most. In terms of h-index, China, USA, and UK ranked highest respectively. Conclusion: Most publications were associated with developed countries that were hit the earliest and/or hardest. This impact on scientific publications was less pronounced in developing countries like Pakistan, highlighting the immediate need to support and facilitate research on COVID-19 in these countries. Abstract Entrepreneurial initiatives and actions are considered main triggers of economic and social development as well as important factors in order to achieve more cohesion among various countries and regions within the European Union. The main goal of the present paper consists in analyzing the scientific literature on entrepreneurship and its influences on regional development. In the first section of the paper the concepts of entrepreneurship and regional development are broken down from the perspective of various researchers. Next the link between entrepreneurship and regional development is established and it is analyzed how the two terms are interconnected: entrepreneurship might have a positive contribution to the development of a region and in the same time some regions are more attractive for entrepreneurs than others. In the last section of the paper a bibliometric analysis is conducted, which aims at establishing the interest existing in the scientific literature for this research topic based on different criteria such as: number of publications, language of publication, journals where articles have been published, areas of knowledge in which authors have published research on entrepreneurship and regional development etc. The analysis was conducted based on scientific literature published between 2001 and 2017 and indexed in the Web of Science - Core Collection. It is highlighted that most of the publications on entrepreneurship and regional development are articles, published in English in the field of Business economics. Overall, the positive trend regarding the number of publications on this topic reveals a growing interest for this research area.

Objectives: COVID-19 has had a substantial impact on rheumatology. This study provides a general overview of studies on rheumatology and COVID-19. Methods: Data were taken from the Web of Science (WoS) website. Analysis and network visualization mapping processes were carried out using VOSviewer. A total of 234 publications were analyzed, and the correlations between citation numbers and reference counts, usage counts and page numbers were analyzed with Spearman correlation coefficients. Results: The average number of citations per item was 6.03. The studies were cited 1,411 times in total, and 1,121 times without self-citations. The countries with the highest number of publications on rheumatology and COVID-19 were the USA and England; the countries with the highest number of citations were Italy and the USA, and Jinoos Yazdany was the most cited author. The Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases was the most cited journal, whereas the highest number of articles on rheumatology and COVID-19 were published in Arthritis and Rheumatology. Conclusions: Bibliometric analysis of rheumatology and COVID-19 can be useful to future studies because it provides a general perspective on the studies. This study provides an insight into the development of publications on rheumatology during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the papers published on urban education and analyze the characteristics of these papers to contribute to the urban education research over the recent years. Design/methodology/approach Researchers generated a comprehensive list of the articles published between 2010 and 2017 in the field of “urban education” by searching the Social Sciences Citation Index database, using the keywords of “urban” and “education.” As an additional criterion, all the articles published between 2010 and 2017 in the journals of Urban Education and Education and Urban Society were included. Findings There are a total of 2,123 publications that were checked and retrieved in the field of “urban education” between 2010 and 2017. Although the number of publications differs year by year, the sum of the citations received the increase from year to year on a regular basis. There are 35 articles that were cited more than h-index, as h-classics in this field for this period and top 10 of these h-classics are reported in this study. Urban Education and Education and Urban Society were revealed as the most prominent journals in the field of urban education. Also, the results show that the most cited articles, the most prolific authors and organizations, and top journals in this field are from the USA. Research limitations/implications The scope of this study is not extensive enough, and the data obtained are not comprehensive enough. The survey was limited to the keyword of “urban education” in the fields of title, abstract, author keywords and keywords plus. Practical implications This bibliometric analysis contributes to the literature of urban education through a historical perspective. Results show that the “urban education” field attracts more attention of the researchers and the impacts of these publications are increasing from year to year. Also, there is a prevalence of the USA in the field of urban education. Originality/value The information presented in this paper provides insight into the development of urban education research over the recent years. The data obtained in this study can be used as a reference for future researchers in urban education.
