MANETs is a network which has nodes. Communication is done without use of infrastructure. Quality based routing is developed which considers end to end qualitatiove data communication. A number of protocols were designed and suggested by researchers to achieve effective communication in MANETs. Considering number of quality factors as energy, trust, bandwidth etc a number of protocols are existing. But still there are number of factors those can consider to enhance the performance of the protocols used for the communication purpose. The existing schemes were effective enough but still as factors those were considering only the resources held by a node not the physical factors were present as node is to survive and communication in network. So further enhancements were possible by considering the physical parameters. Inspired from that in this paper a proposed scheme considering physical factor name as Distance is considered as the improvement to the traditional scheme. The distance factor is behaving as finding the physical presence of the node in the network also the distance factor will help to find the appropriate node for the next hop to communicate. A simulation is conducted in MATLAB software and performance factors as throughput and energy are analyzed, also an comparison with existing system is done and the results shows that the proposed scheme is effective enough to achieve QOS based routing with reduced energy consumption and high throughput.

Energy is a critical issue in Mobile Ad-hoc Network. Nodes in Network are working in presence of limited or less energy due to dynamic nature of nodes or infrastructure less network. MANET has no infrastructure so nodes in MANET work on dynamic routing. In this way, energy proficient routing is required for reducing energy utilization. Energy proficient routing plans can extraordinarily reduce energy utilization and augments the lifetime of the networks. Scalability of Ad Hoc Networks can be enhanced by using land data, for example, in LAR, GPSR etc. They utilize physical area data; regularly from GPS (Global Positioning System).GPS empowers a gadget to decide their position as in longitude, Latitude and Altitude by getting this data from the satellites. There has been significant effort in proposing energy efficient routing protocols with the help of GAGAN (GPS Aided GEO Augmented Navigation) which have accuracy to approx One meter in India or its neighbor countries. GAGAN is a route framework which is helped by both GPS and nearby telemetry information to possibly give quicker and more exact situating and navigational information.

Energy consumption of nodes during the transmission is an important factor for the efficiency and lifetime of a mobile ad hoc network. The reduction in consumption of energy can be achieved, only when its consumption at each step is known. The purpose of this paper is to formulate the mathematical model of energy consumption of network on the basis on links and available nodes in order to formulate the energy optimization function. The probability of link failure in route and innetwork have been taken into consideration as constraints while formulating the objective function of estimated energy consumption, as the low connectivity is one of the challenges due to mobility in ad hoc network.

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a wireless network created without any static infrastructure and works in a decentralized fashion. The nodes are independent and communicated with each other by self-organizing among those nodes to provide the global network functionality. It draws more attention in recent years because of enormous applications and its cost-effective implementation. The communication among these nodes entirely depends on the routing path and battery power. Many researches have concentrated only on finding the shortest path and throughput in this area. The energy-efficient routing has a lot of scope and important factor to be considered for routing in MANET’s. In this article, the current energy-efficient routing protocols will be extensively reviewed and results tabulated. Finally, the paper proposes open areas in which the performance of the network may be improved by considering energy-efficient networks, achieving stability in the network and finding better routes.

A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless nodes communicating over multi-hop paths without any infrastructure. Nodes must cooperate to provide necessary network functionalities. The security in routing protocols like Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) can be compromised by a “Black Hole” attack. Here, a malicious node claims to have the shortest path to the destination and attracts all traffic and drops them, leading to performance degradation. The situation becomes worse when two or more nodes cooperate and perform the “Cooperative black hole” attack. This chapter proposes a solution based on probing to identify and prevent such attacks. The proposed solution discovers a secure route between the source and destination by identifying and isolating the attacking nodes. Simulation results show that the protocol provides better security and performance in terms of detection time, packet delivery ratio, and false negative probability in comparison with trust and probe based schemes.

Current time represents the era of communication technology and in this revolution MANET is widely used and act as a key star for data communication in real life decisive scenario for e.g., disaster management, traffic control, military services etc. MANET is infrastructureless data communication network comprising of mobile nodes. For MANET it requires secure and energy efficient framework for the underlying routing protocol. To meet the need of efficient data communication in MANET, an Energy Efficient and Secure AODV (EES-AODV) protocol is proposed. In the projected routing protocol, first the order of network nodes happen dependent on energy and afterward encryption has been done. Simulation of projected protocol is performed for such as Average Delay, PDR and Throughput. Simulated results shows that modified AODV gives optimized performance and provides a more secure and energy aware protocol.
