This study aims to examine the sources of organizational power prevailing among the academic leaders at the University of Tabuk from the faculty members’ viewpoint. The purposes behind such an aim are: to reveal the level of administrative and technical institutional creativity, the nature of the relationship between the reality of organizational power and the level of institutional creativity, and to disclose statistically the significant differences between the averages of faculty members’ responses attributed to the demographic variables (gender,  years of experience, academic degree). The study used the descriptive approach, both survey and correlational. A questionnaire was used to collect data from a simple random sample of (354) faculty members.Results have revealed that the sample agreement came at a high degree on both the reality of organizational power in its dimensions as well as on the level of institutional creativity of academic leaders. A very strong statistically significant direct correlation has been found between the reality of the morganizational power and the level of institutional creativity. Moreover, the statistically gender-based significant differences detected among the mermbers’ response averages about the sources of compulsion power and experience power were in favour of males and females, respectively. Speaking of the academic degree variable in the source of experience power, it was in favor of assistant professor category.

The study aimed to identify the current method used for selecting academic leaders at emerging Saudi universities from the viewpoint of faculty members working there, and whether there is a correlation between the method used and the following variables: job satisfaction, organizational justice, organizational commitment, productivity motivation, and institutional loyalty and affiliation. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the researcher designed a questionnaire that included identifying the method used. The questionnaire consisted of (31) items divided according to the variables mentioned, and it was distributed to the study sample (300 faculty members), randomly chosen from the study community (2382 members). The results showed that there is a correlation between the method used and the variables mentioned which were at an intermediate level, with the exception of the productivity motivation that was at a high level for university professors, despite the fact that the foregoing variables were lower than expected. This made the researcher recommend that the university and the Ministry of Education would review that mechanism and hold conferences and workshops in order to address it before these positive professors suffer from disappointment and job burnout. The study also revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) in experience in favor of (10) years or more, in the academic rank in favor of (Assistant Professor), and in officiality and contracting in favor of the contracting parties.

The aim of the research is to identify the impact of psychological combustion on the job performance of university and higher institutes teachers through a study of analytical by the same academic leaders at the University of Tikrit, The research was based on the analytical descriptive method and the use of the psychometric scale and the performance scale. The research found a number of results, namely that the most academic leadership positions whose performance is affected by the levels of psychological combustion is the head of the department, and that the academic leadership in the practical colleges is the most affected by the performance of the levels of psychological combustion. Also, the female academic leaders are affected by their performance at higher levels of combustion Psychological leadership, and that academic leaders have the degree of assistant professor is affected by its performance more levels of psychological combustion, and that the academic leaders married is affected by their performance more levels of psychological combustion, and that academic leaders The age group of 30 to 40 years is the most affected by the performance of the levels of psychological combustion, and academic leaders with years of experience less than 20 years are affected by their performance more levels of psychological combustion. The research recommended that work should be done to improve the professional and social conditions of academic leaders and faculty members in colleges and higher institutes, and to prepare preventive and guidance programs that help reduce the feeling of work pressure and health monitoring of academic leaders and faculty members to ensure their health and psychological health. The faculty and raise their morale with rewards and incentives, both material and moral, training and qualification of academic leaders and faculty members to increase their ability to think creatively and how to manage time and exploitation Its best possible exploitation.

The research aimed at identifying educational and academic training needs required for faculty members in the College of Education at the University of Khartoum from their point of view, as well as to find out any statistically significant differences in the degree of training needs due to two variables (gender and academic degree). The research followed the descriptive analytical approach, and the research population covered all faculty members of the College of Education, University of Khartoum. A simple random sample of (97) members was selected. The questionnaire was used as the main tool for collecting the required data. To analyze the data statistically, the SPSS program was used. Major findings revealed that the degree of educational and academic training needs of faculty members in the College of Education at the University of Khartoum was high, with statistically significant differences attributed to the variable (academic degree). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the variable (gender). In light of these results, the research concluded with a set of recommendations, including: the university and college administrations should pay attention to various training programs on a continuous basis in both professional and academic fields, priority should be given to the areas of e-learning and statistical analysis, and faculty members should be encouraged to attend training courses. Faculty engagement has been proved to be a critical driver of the universities’ efficiency and effectiveness. The first step towards building an engaged workforce is to get a measure of faculty perceptions of their engagement level to their universities. Accordingly, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the faculty members' engagement in the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. It examines the relationship between the faculty professional variablesand their level of engagement to their institutions. William Kahn's (1990) three-component model of employee engagement was partially adapted as a framework to measure the faculty members' engagement. A questionnaire was used to better address the objective of this study. The data were obtained from the Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (Dammam University) through an internet-based survey. The validity and the reliability of the questionnaire has been evaluated and reported. Results of the analyses show that cognitive engagement is reported to be higher than both the emotional and physical engagement, with a mean rating of 4.040 and a standard deviation of .487, based on the five-point scale. Given the engagement level of the faculty members in this study, the university administrators should develop policies, and strategies that encourage and support engagement among faculty members at the University in order to maximize their engagement. Policy makers must also take into consideration the needs of the faculty members

This study aims to observe the influence of inclusion of mobile learning in Business Schools on students’ performance and gender based faculty members’ performance in business schools in Karachi, Pakistan. The functions offered in mobile phones include the access to information of real-time, medium of communication, and host of affordances. Nevertheless, along with the opportunities and incentives the mobile devices carry opportunities for students to involve in academic dishonesty, deviation and distraction from the assigned tasks. By employing quantitative research method, this study tends to conduct an experiment to explore if faculty members in business schools perform differently based on their different genders with the inclusion of mobile learning. The result of the study reveals no difference between the performance of male and female faculty members with the inclusion of mobile learning by implementing the Google Class into their regular classes. Therefore, this study recommends the academic leaders, curriculum designers, and educationists in the field of business education to pay attention on the inclusion of mobile learning, as it is equally beneficial to students and faculty members regardless of their different genders.

This paper explores faculty members’ concerns and level of preparedness for open and distance learning (ODL) at the University of Malawi’s School of Education during the recent Covid-19 pandemic within a context that considers ODL as a means of mitigating the impact of the pandemic on teaching and learning. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with four experienced academic leaders within the school of education. The Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM), particularly stages of concerns, served as a framework to understand the faculty’s concerns about the implementation of ODL initiatives. Inductive and deductive analysis approaches were used to analyse the interview transcripts to identify emerging themes. Deductive analysis revealed that faculty members expressed several concerns such as awareness, informational, as well as consequences concerns as they talked about their feelings and attitudes towards the implementation of ODL. Inductive analysis on the other hand revealed that faculty members’ perceptions such as minimal preparation, negative orientations, and lack of policy awareness hamper the implementation of ODL. These findings underscore the importance of members’ orientation change to ensure effective implementation of ODL in contexts like the institution under study. We discuss these and propose that professional development could help members develop positive attitudes towards ODL.

Academic interdisciplinarity has become a powerful means of addressing challenges facing contemporary society as well as offering opportunities to advance knowledge. To better understand the role of university interdisciplinary organizations (IDOs), the authors studied 18 IDOs at Stanford University in the USA. They propose that IDOs not only enhance researchers’ interdisciplinary collaboration but, counterintuitively, also serve departmental and disciplinary interests. While IDOs are traditionally believed to threaten traditional disciplinary departments, the authors find a “more the more” dynamic in which, by bringing shared university resources and faculty to bear on new themes, significant new resources are generated to the benefit of both actors. Traditionally, the relationship between departments and IDOs has been seen as a zero-sum game with winners and losers. This research suggests, to the contrary, a win–win dynamic in which the two formats are mediated by the research group. Some faculty members are alternately departmental chairs and IDO organizers as well as start-up founders, industrial consultants and holders of high governmental advisory positions during their careers, integrating Triple Helix university–industry–government interactions with IDOs and IDOs with departments. The authors examine how these two entities coexist and benefit one another in a cooperative academic ecosystem and consider the implications for the future of the university.

The present study aimed to identify the scientific research obstacles facing faculty members in the College of Education at Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University (PNU) and to determine the differences in the obstacles according to age, academic rank, scientific specialty, marital status, number of completed studies, and time since the last academic rank was received. An initial data form and questionnaire were prepared to identify the obstacles to scientific research. The questionnaire assessed personal and family obstacles, social factors, technical skills, organizational and professional obstacles, and societal obstacles. The researcher assessed the validity and reliability of the survey instrument by testing it on a sample of 23 faculty members at the university. The results demonstrated a high degree of validity (i.e., high internal consistency) and reliability (Cronbach's alpha coefficient: .97). The study instrument was administered to a final sample of 69 faculty members (out of 111) at the university. The results demonstrated a decrease in the averages of the obstacles. The arithmetic averages for the obstacles were organizational and professional obstacles (2.76), societal obstacles (2.64), personal and family obstacles (1.87), and skills-related obstacles (1.70). The results demonstrated no significant differences for any obstacles with respect to age, academic rank or scientific specialization. There were significant differences in skills-related obstacles according to the number of completed studies; researchers with no completed projects faced greater obstacles. The results also demonstrated significant differences in societal obstacles associated with the length of time since the last academic rank was received.
