Transportation route planning problems determine from a transport mode can be simplified by using network model, which can be represented by graph theory. This important component of the transportation network planning is finding the shortest path. In this thesis will learn how to find the model of a transportation network planning using the shortest path with best path algorithm. This algorithm trying to find the itinerary that requires the least number of transfers. It can be a model of path network transportation with transfer. The used model was the model with matrix.Keyword: Public transportation, Shortest path, Best path algorithm.

Aiming to facilitate the choice of transport links leading from a starting location to a destination in greater Cairo, we propose in this work a public transportation mobile (android) application to assist users of public transport. The system is a pilot application that considers the public mini-buses network in three areas of Cairo, and builds the database of the mini-bus network verified on the ground. From this database, the transportation network graph consisting of nodes and possible links between them is constructed. Upon request, the system then identifies the series of public transport possible, calculates the shortest path between the two chosen locations, and displays the bus, or series of buses, and the routes to the user, ordered by distance. The specialized algorithm Dijkstra was implemented to find the shortest route.

Bus routes planning is the key to the design of public transport system, it determines the status of public transports at a large degree. For the existing bus network traffic problems, such as bus traffic is not balanced in both pace and time, flat-peak conversion is slow, non-linear coefficient is high. Therefore a circular bus network planning method is put out. The overall interests of passenger and bus operators are used as the objective function; the public transportation network technical indicators are used as the constraint conditions. When designing the network, the transfer coefficient and the line length are used for the control conditions. The main through passenger is satisfied at first, and the initial network is laid out by the circular line. Then the bus network is revised according to the constraints conditions with the status of the road network. From the different purposes, different option should be compared by the value of objective function, and the optimal one is gained at last.

In road networks, it is imperative to discover a shortest way to reach the final destination. When an individual is new to a place, lots of time is wasted in finding the destination. With the advancement of technology, various navigation applications have been developed for guiding private vehicles, but few are designed for public transportation. This study is solely concentrated on finding the possible shortest path in terms of minimum time and cost to reach specific destination for an individual. It requires an appropriate algorithm to search the shortest path. With the implementation of Dijkstra’s algorithm, the shortest path with respect to minimum travel time and travel cost was computed. Public transportation network of Pokhara city was taken for the case study of this research. The results of this analysis indicated that when the “time” impedance was used by the algorithm, it generated the shortest path between the origin and destination along with the path to be followed. This study formulates a framework for generating itinerary for passengers in a transit network that allows the user to find the optimal path with minimum travel time and cost.

Tangerang City is the largest city in Banten Province and the third largest city in Greater Jakarta area which is split by one of the major rivers on the island of Java, namely the Cisadane River. With the increasing number of population and vehicle ownership, it is necessary to develop a public transportation network to reduce traffic volume and meet the needs of urban public transportation that is fast, easy, safe and comfortable for the citizen. The existence of the Cisadane River in Tangerang City has the potential to be developed into a public transportation route in the form of a waterway. Therefore, the right strategy is needed in the planning of river transportation. This study aims to analyze the influencing factors and strategic priorities in planning river transportation as urban public transportation using the Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. In this study, a questionnaire was given to eight expert respondents related to river transportation. The respondents' answers were tested for consistency with AHP to ensure the accuracy of the answers. From the results of the SWOT analysis, it was obtained the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in river transportation planning, as well as the ST (Strength-Threat) strategy with the largest weight of 3.99 as the strategy to be used in planning river transportation. Then from the AHP analysis, the strategic priority results in planning river transportation were obtained, namely the safety criteria with a weight of 0.29 and alternative strategy for life jackets with a weight of 0.117853325 as the main priority in carrying out the chosen strategy. Respondents' answers are fairly accurate with a consistency ratio of 2.58% ≤ 10%.

AbstractThe Reduce performance of urban public transport in Jember can not separated from several factors, among other are less convenient conditions in terms of service, overlapping route, no improvement for route network made by local authority, and cheap moator loans which cause many poeple use motor vehicles. The Worst effect if this thing continous increase population of motor vehicles. At the same time nowdays, new land-use patterns have grown in urban areas which potentially have large demand but still unserved by public transport. Seeing these problems, public branch route network planning is needed as well as the requirment of public transportation fleets in accordance with the legislation. From the planning conducted, it was found 8 plan branch routes and the fleet needs. From such palnning it was expected that it can reduce the overlapping route and accomodate all urban areas in order to served by public transport.

AbstractMassive data are surrounding us in our daily lives. Urban mobility generates a very high number of complex data reflecting the mobility of people, vehicles and objects. Transport operators are primary users who strive to discover the meaning of phenomena behind traffic data, aiming at regulation and transport planning. This paper tackles the question "How to design a supportive tool for visual exploration of digital mobility data to help a transport analyst in decision making?” The objective is to support an analyst to conduct an ex post analysis of train circulation and passenger flows, notably in disrupted situations. We propose a problem-solution process combined with data visualisation. It relies on the observation of operational agents, creativity sessions and the development of user scenarios. The process is illustrated for a case study on one of the commuter line of the Paris metropolitan area. Results encompass three different layers and multiple interlinked views to explore spatial patterns, spatio-temporal clusters and passenger flows. We join several transport network indicators whether are measured, forecasted, or estimated. A user scenario is developed to investigate disrupted situations in public transport.
