“School/madrasah as an educational institution is an institution that serves as an agent of change to solve the nation's problems. Therefore, in order to produce the quality of education, it is necessary to implement the concept of TQM (Total Quality Management) that in history has successfully led the business world in creating production quality best and can even exceed the satisfaction of customers standard. This study used a qualitative approach with methods of library research. The formulation of the problem involves understanding implementation of TQM, TQM in education, implementation of TQM principles in educational institutions, the pillars of TQM in educational institutions, measures the implementation of TQM in education and description of the failure in the implementation of TQM. The study results were obtained, among others; The first, implementation of total quality management (TQM) is an implementation or embodiment of a management concept that involves all components in the organization to jointly contribute to the organization's policies oriented to the improvement of product quality to customer satisfaction. Second, in educational institutions, implementation of TQM are used to improve administrative functions and operations, to manage the educational process as a whole, integrate TQM in the curriculum, the use of TQM in teaching methods in the classroom, the use of TQM for managing research and development activities. In addition, educators must be responsible for their duties proactively, they must develop a problem-solving process that makes sense and can identify and towards the main cause, capable of being the organization model and can measure what's working well and what is not, so that we will get a good system in institutional schools / madrasah. Third, in applying TQM, there are some principles that should be held, among others; focusing on consumers (users of educational services), broad involvement (teachers, staff, students, and community), their measurements, to understand education as a system, and their continuous improvement. Fourth, the five main pillars of TQM here are their products, relying on the process undertaken, the leader who moves in producing quality products, and a commitment among the leaders in the organization. Fifth, steps in implementing TQM in educational institutions include; the preparatory phase, the planning phase and the implementation phase. Sixth, the failure may occur in implementing TQM in educational institutions, if; there is a gap in the commitment of top management, one focus of attention, lack of adequate staff and support, relying solely training, the hope of obtaining results of a moment and force adopt a method that doesn’t comply with the requirement.”

The implementation of total quality management is applied to every educational institution as an effort to improve the quality of education. In this case, it is important to carry out management functions in each educational institution. This article discusses the implementation of total quality management in educational institutions to seek to improve the quality of education in achieving a quality standard in education. Every educational institution should show better quality and be able to compete. This is intended so that educational institutions continue to gain the trust of the public and stakeholders. To continue to get this, it must be improved continuously, both physically and non-physically. So as to make a quality educational institution and guaranteed quality. There are several main things that need to be considered in implementing total quality management in the world of education, namely: continuous quality improvement; determine quality standards, cultural change; changes in the organization; and maintain relationships with other agencies and customers and evaluate the system if anything is not appropriate

Quality management is an approach to management which requires establishing quality policies, procedures and practices on regular basis. Engineering education is a process of developing techno human resources, which are to be used later as input to industry which in turn produces goods and services for the societal use. Having considered the current situation of the engineering educational system and the quality of all its individual components it can be noticed that the awareness of the importance of education as a foundation for the growth and development of the country, such as India, is not strong enough. Engineering graduates passing out from educational institutions have to fulfill modern and high standard requirements that are needed by industry. Therefore, there is a greater need to instill quality in engineering education to produce technically skilled and creative man-power in India. The continuous assessment of quality is of paramount importance for educational institution. Education efficiency and success does not depend just on quantity but as well on quality. This paper has discussed key points for the improvement in the quality of engineering education with a case study undertaken at various engineering colleges in India. The study was conducted in two phase; first phase is the critical investigation of the literature and the second phase is a study on the quality of engineering education provided by the educational institutions in Visakhapatnam city. A simple random sampling technique was adopted for the study. A research study described in this paper identifies and analyses the quality of engineering education at the educational institutions which adopt the total quality management system to increase the quality and meet the industrial requirements and then suggests some ingredients to improve the quality.

Total quality Management (TQM) is a form of organization management approach that emphasizes quality, with the aim of achieving success in the long run, as well as providing satisfaction to its customers. This paper aims to provide an illustration that the management of an educational institution requires the concept of integrated quality management in an effort to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals maximally. Because in this quality management there is a mature, measurable and realistic planning concept in accordance with the available resources. Educational institutions as institutions whose outside targets are in the form of increased human resources with complex aspects, namely intellectual, emotional and spiritual. Clearly it really needs the concept of Total Quality Management in an effort to produce graduation in accordance with the vision and mission of national education objectives. This study is a library research, so that the main data sources are books, journals and other reading sources. Its conclusion is that educational institutions as institutions that create human resources. It is said to be successful if implementing the concept of Total Quality Management with the main objective on customer satisfaction, namely students, parents, community, nation and country. As for the main movers are the principal with all other personnels in that  institution the education.

Abstract The Mechanical Engineering Design curriculum at Santa Clara University has been reviewed using the principles of Total Quality Management. The review has led to a clear mission statement and the inclusion of an explicit component of Critical Thinking in our curriculum. We have begun to develop the educational process that will enable us to accomplish this mission.

Quality of education prepares one to meet the challenges in the society and therefore, become economically productive, contribute to peaceful and independent societies and enhance individual well-being. In recent years, TQM and school climate has received worldwide attention and been adopted in many educational institutions, particularly in developed countries. However, in developing countries the amount of research is scarce into successful implementation of TQM and school climate. This study aims to investigate the relationships, between TQM and school climate with the key dimension of teachers’ student’s relationship, decision making, collaborative, teaching innovation and school resources to achieve high school performance. The purpose of this study is to highlight the concept of TQM in the field of educational institutions to achieve the quality in education. In order to understand the issue, this conceptual paper reviewed several published research papers and identify the TQM and school climate dimensions to make a conceptual framework. The main objective of this paper is to focus on the effects of total quality management on students’ academic achievement of secondary school students in Pakistan with better school climate.

Total Quality Management (TQM) a functioning idea to accomplish incessant performance improvement-is the word of mouth of the 1990s, attracting deep interest among organizations and educational institutions in many countries. Numerous policy-makers truly believe that TQM can improve the performance of their organizations but they did not test it to make sure the effect of TQM. Hence, the purpose of this study is to examine the effect of TQM on university performance in Jordan. This relationship obtains a substantial scholarly attention and several researches have been conducted in the western countries, but none has been conducted in Jordan in the recent year using this variable in a model. A structured survey was conducted and selected 10 public and 10 private universities in Jordan via cluster random sampling. The hypotheses were tested using SEM-AMOS package 22.0 based on resource based theory. Based on the statistical results, TQM has statistically significant effect on university performance in Jordan. Consequently, the findings evoked that there is a dire need to focus on TQM for boosting university performance and its sustainability in Jordan.

Improving the quality of education is a problem that is still experienced by many educational institutions. To improve the quality of education, institutions need a system to help achieve quality education quality. So this study aims to analyze the application of Total Quality Management in the school accreditation program as an effort to improve the quality of education. This research is a literature study by taking data from several books and literature. This data collection technique uses documentation techniques and data analysis techniques using critical analysis which is interesting from several research documents. The results of this study indicate that improving the quality of education is carried out by implementing Total Quality Management. Total Quality Management is carried out by continuous improvement, determining quality standards, changing culture, changing organizations, maintaining relationships with customers and focusing on customer satisfaction. and have a commitment to change.
