The impact of globalization on the socio-economic development of the world and Ukraine is traced. The negative consequences of the process of globalization have been that it has become a huge challenge for humanity. According to the author, the biggest threats to the modern world include: the flow of excessive information, which often turns into information attacks; international terrorism, which threatens international tourism and the safe socio-economic development of many countries; negative natural phenomena in the form of climatic cataclysms and others. It has been studied that, in addition to the negative economic consequences, globalization can have an antisocial character. Globalization is actually destroying space and widening distances. Today, the key factor in overcoming the epidemic is social distance, the isolation of the individual. Quarantine is diametrically opposed to the «open society» that globalization and integration advocated at the time. It is determined that international tourism is a consequence of globalization processes is a form of international movement of human resources, has a mass character and is one of the leading highly profitable and most dynamic sectors of the world economy. It is revealed that globalization provides an opportunity for the development of various types of tourism, including professional and business, cultural, sports, medical, health tourism. In particular, health tourism is one of the important factors in shaping the country’s social security by strengthening the health of the population, replenishing the state budget, and attracting foreign investment in joint medical projects. To create a positive medical image of the country, the governments of many countries develop national programs for the development of medical tourism and allocate funds for its establishment. An important goal of international tourism is professional and business travel and «business tourism», among which the leading place is occupied by trips to international fairs and exhibitions. In the process of analysis on these issues used general scientific methods: historical and logical, analysis and synthesis, comparative, grouping, etc.

The geospace stratification substantiate and its spatial differences reveal based on the analysis of the economic growth dynamics. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the slowdown in economic growth confirmed and its negative consequences for the investment sphere clarified, because the ability of countries to respond adequately to these processes is different. It has been determined that under the globalization influence, the world acts as a single whole, and the core of developed countries and the periphery is formed as well as local civilizations are transformed. Attention focuses on the research of the values problems that determine the state of society development. The research of the essential characteristics of civilizations carried out and the ideas of the main European civilizational schools characterized. Based on M. Rokeach’s concept, the features that characterize values are determined. It confirmed the values that dominate in society are the main element of culture. The model for measuring the cultural variability of the cross-cultural plane, which was developed by the Dutch psychologist G. Hofstede, is detailed, and the influence of cultural characteristics on the new economy formation is analyzed. The «World Values Survey» study has been assessed. It confirmed that, due to the impossibility of full-fledged self-realization of the individual, migration processes activated and their analysis shows a tendency towards growth. It substantiated that in the modern world the questions about the nature of the socio-cultural integrity of civilizations and civilizational ecumene, associated with religious differences and demographic processes, remain unresolved. An assessment of the demographic situation in the world carried out and its growing dynamics and regional asymmetries clarified. A spatial analysis of the distribution of countries in the global space with dominant religions carried out and the main trends in the world religions development revealed. The role of strengthening the intangible component in the structure of modern economic reproduction argues. It confirmed that the potential of the countries and the world development as a whole takes place in the process of deepening cross-civilization-integration processes. The main civilizational challenges of global economic development are formulated, they are formed under the multi-vector processes in the world, including: spatial asymmetry of countries’ development, universalization of values, socio-cultural differences, ethnic problems, religious differences, demographic and migration processes.

This paper summarizes the arguments and counterarguments within the scientific discussion on the issue of the need for an innovative policy in the area of health protection at the link with the transformation of the social and economic development of the country through the pandemic COVID-19. The main goal of this study is to predict two scenarios for the development of the main indicators of the country's socio-economic development: considering the pandemic COVID-19 and the possible course of events without the influence of epidemiological threats. The systematization of literary sources and approaches to innovation and the determination of the volume of negative consequences for the national economy, due to the introduction of quarantine restrictions, has shown that this issue is quite relevant around the world. The study of the transformation of the trajectory of economic development of Ukraine in the article was carried out in the following logical sequence: 1) collection of statistical information, including 118 indicators of social development, the state of capital investment and business expectations of Ukrainian enterprises and screening of multicollinear indicators among them; 2) performing a time series decomposition separately for the interval 5 years before quarantine and taking into account the impact of the pandemic; 3) forecasting the consequences of the pandemic according to the investigated indicators of economic development in 2020-2022 by turning the time series into the Fourier series. The methodological tools of the study were methods of checking for multicollinearity by Pearson coefficients, decomposition of additive models into a trend and cyclic components, selection of cyclic oscillations by fast Fourier transform, extrapolation of constructed models for subsequent years, and quality control of constructed models by F-test quarterly data for 2015-2020 are selected. The study empirically confirms and theoretically proves that among the socio-economic development factors studied, most experienced significant transformations due to the introduction of quarantine restrictions by the government. This leads to the need for innovation policy in the health sector in order to minimize such consequences in the future. Keywords: Fourier series, forecasting, COVID-19, innovation, time series decomposition, health care.

The issues of recognizing the rights of the LGBTQ+ community around the world and developing appropriate anti-discrimination policies and laws are one of the main topics for discussion in the global agenda. This is due to the commitment of the world community to protect human rights and meet the needs of society. The paper aims to assess the relationship between socio-economic development indicators of some European countries and the Rainbow Europe Index. To find out how discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community affects various social and economic development indicators of some European countries, a data matrix was developed and the Spearman rank correlation coefficient was calculated. The obtained results confirmed a positive relationship between the Rainbow Europe Index and GDP per capita, the Human Development Index, the Corruption Index, and the Index of Happiness. Calculations have shown that the Rainbow Europe Index had a significant impact on these indicators. The study proved the dependence of indicators and demonstrated the need to provide freedoms and rights for LGBTQ+ affiliated members in Ukraine and other European countries. The article discusses the objective need to use the world experience of forecasting and planning in the process of developing a "welfare state" as an effective model for the modern development of a socially oriented market economy. The denial and lack of planning and forecasting of the economy on the scale of the country can lead to such negative consequences as uncertainty of the benchmarks of social and economic development of society for the long term and the development of chaos in the country; priorities of the decision short-term and current problems before strategic tasks on which the future development of society depends; preservation of playback modes; incomplete and inefficient use of resources; the emergence of crisis situations, etc. The practice of the leading countries of the world and the results they get prove that planning and forecasting are objectively necessary tools for the development of the modern market economy. The experience of many countries of the world testifies to the effectiveness of the use of these tools of state regulation of national socio-economic development. Features of forecasting and planning are considered in the representative countries of three existing systems of planning and regulation in the world: North American (USA and Canada); Asian (Japan and South Korea); European (France and Sweden). The forecasting and planning tools are based on the intersection balance model, which involves the inclusion of market impact (equilibrium prices) to determine the proportions of the plan and reflects the dynamics of production links (processes of public reproduction) of the national economy for several years. In the 21st century, strategic planning for the effective development of the state's economy is a prerequisite for sustainable economic growth and the formation of a national model of "welfare state" on this basis. Today, developed (post-industrial) countries use planning and forecasting, which have established themselves as an objective and natural tool for the modern market economy, where the role of the state is based on indicative planning, which ensures the achievement of sustainable economic growth to improve the well-being of the nation.

Ravine degradation is one of the major environmental threats throughout the world and affects multiple soils and land functions. There is ample physical evidence of severe gully erosion occurring in different parts of the world. Gullies are one of the few sources of morphological evidence in the landscape showing the intensity of soil erosion in the area, reflecting the impact of environmental change (especially due to interactions between geomorphological features, changes in land use, and extreme climatic events). The impacts of ravine erosion in Akwa Ibom State, Uyo in particular are enormous and are still creating a lot of menace ranging from loss of farmlands and properties, a threat to vegetation, effect on life among others. This paper discusses the use of space-based techniques to assess the impact of ravine erosion and its effects on socio-economic development of Nsukara Offot in Uyo L.G.A. In the study, the shapefile of Uyo was used to clip the study area from Landsat 8 (2018) in a GIS environment, the extracted images were processed using ArcGIS 10.4, Likelihood classification was carried out for 3 spectral bands corresponding to Band 5, Band 4 and Band 3 combination Near infrared, red, and green (NIR, R, G). Spot 5 Image was also used to identify the interesting features in the area that is valuable for this research work. The features digitized were Built-up areas, Ravine, and Roads. The ArcGIS software version 10.4 was used to buffer the distance from the ravine to the different structures, other facilities, and one of the major roads in the area. Results from the field observations and measurements showed that the width of the ravine is 8m, depth is 13m while the length is about 100m. The distance of the ravine from the nearest building which is Ray Field International Secondary School, Uyo is 10m away from the school gate and 5m from the road. This shows a rapid encroachment to the facility and poses a hazard to both human and infrastructure. The study shows that the ravine occurred as a result of inappropriate channeling of water runoff in unprotected land thereby washing away the soil along the drainage line. GIS is a valuable tool in monitoring morphology while the results of the study can be used for planning for further monitoring, gully erosion control, and management.

We examine the main trends of world economic development. The characteristic feature of the modern world is the acceleration of globalization development, caused by the achievements of scientific and technological progress. The increase in possibilities of global problem solving is accompanied by their exacerbation and degree of openness of public systems in conditions of modern globalization. We consider the interaction of international economic agents, the formation of interconnections, the inevitability of transition to a new and more progressive model of economic development – metaeconomy and the problems which are potentially able to cause negative consequences of the financial sector redistribution. There is a growth of social inequality in the world, resulting in increasing income disparities, which intensifies the migration process and thereby creates new problems as a result of the coexistence of people belonging to different civilizations, cultures and value systems.

One of the global challenges facing the humanity in the 21st century is to improve the sustainable socio-economic development of countries. Thus, significant results have been achieved in Azerbaijan's socio-economic development over the past decade. The main reason for this is the implementation of large economic projects to ensure continued development in Azerbaijan. Innovative development of the economy is associated with the solution of the problem of promotion of innovation, the formation and development of innovative entrepreneurship, fundamental tax reforms and elimination of staff shortages in this area. The most important thing here is that the future state of the Republic of Azerbaijan will find the key government program "Strategic roadmap for key sectors of the national economy". The socio-economic successes of Azerbaijan in recent years have also been reflected in the reports of reputable international rating agencies. The article examines the impact of globalization on the development of the world and national economic systems. The high probability of a global economic recession due to the coronavirus outbreak is projected to have significant consequences for both the global economy and the economy of Ukraine. Due to the probable change in the structure of the world economy and logistics, there is a growing need to study the risks of the national banking system, which demonstrates a high dependence on global financial markets. The peculiarities of the manifestation of financial and economic crises in the conditions of turbulence of the international financial markets and strengthening of financial instability have been considered. The causes and consequences of crises in the banking sector of Ukraine have been studied. The analysis of macroeconomic indicators of economic development of Ukraine during 2006-2019 with identifying of crisis periods has been carried out. Particular attention has been paid to the study of the preconditions for the emergence and consequences of the global financial and economic crisis for the economy of Ukraine in general and the banking sector in particular. Indicators that characterize the degree of penetration of the banking system into the economy of Ukraine have been analyzed, that will determine the features of crises at different stages of socio-economic development and conduct a comparative assessment of anti-crisis measures of the NBU aimed at stabilizing the banking sector. Taking into account the fact that the causes of financial and economic crises are not identical, measures used during the Global Financial and Economic Crisis of 2007-2011 cannot be taken to overcome the negative consequences of the Coronacrisis of 2020. Regulatory aspects of the banking system in times of crisis have been systematized. An attempt to predict the possible development of events in the domestic banking sector in the context of the Coronacrisis of 2020 has been made. The purpose of the article is to study the development trends of the banking sector of Ukraine in the space of formation of the destructive consequences of the global financial and economic crises and to determine the main directions of anti-crisis regulation of banking.
