Purpose. The aim of the article is to substantiate the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises in Ukraine. Methodology of research. General and special methods are used in the course of the research, in particular methods: dialectics and scientific abstraction – in determining the essence of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises and its components; graphic – to depict the constituent elements of the concept in the relationship; monographic – to describe the concept, its ideas and provisions. Findings. The essence of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises as the generalized understanding of separate processes which comprehensively characterizes it and promotes achievement of the purposes or the decision of problems is defined. The constituent concepts are established, in particular: the purpose, principles and features of activity, and also functions, methods and tools by means of which the set purposes are reached. Emphasis is placed on the dependence of the management of innovative development of the enterprise on environmental factors that directly and indirectly determine the supply and demand for innovation in the field of energy services. A schematic representation of the concept is given. The essence and significance of each constituent element of the concept are detailed; the elements of the innovation management system are emphasized separately. The directions and tools of integration of innovative development into all subsystems of the enterprise are substantiated. The urgency of increasing the level of innovative development of energy service enterprises through the introduction of the latest developments is substantiated. Some innovative solutions to which energy service enterprises should pay attention are characterized. Originality. The understanding of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises is systematized, and also elements of external environment and system of management of innovative development are structured in detail. In contrast to existing developments, the proposed concept more clearly and comprehensively substantiates the theoretical foundations of integration of innovative development into all management subsystems, as well as systematizes the impact of external factors on the innovative development of energy enterprises. Practical value. The proposed concept forms a theoretical and methodological basis for improving the management system of innovative development of energy service enterprises and ensuring the growth of the level of innovative services to improve energy efficiency. This paper considers the factors influencing the innovative development of energy service enterprises. The study aims to establish the relationship between the regulatory policy in the field of energy, the willingness of the population to use energy efficiency measures and the innovative potential of energy service companies. The generalization of scientific work on energy and environmental security has shown the relevance of developing mechanisms to reform the energy service market, taking into account the level of innovative development and management at the level of the energy service company. Accordingly, five energy companies from the western region of Ukraine (OJSC Ternopiloblenergo, PJSC Lvivoblenergo, JSC Chernivtsioblenergo, PJSC Rivneoblenergo, PJSC Volynoblenergo) were selected as objects for the study. Methodological research tools were the methods of focus group, personal interview, variations, statistical observation, induction, deduction, and generalization. The study presents external and internal factors influencing the innovative development of energy service enterprises. It is noted that the level of innovative development of personnel in the energy sector is low. The importance of strengthening cooperation of energy service enterprises with united territorial communities to implement the approved legal norms of energy market reform in Ukraine is taken into account. Among the measures to strengthen the motivation of the population to use energy-saving technologies, the intensification of media and information activities was noted. The results of the study can be useful for managers of energy service companies, heads of joint territorial communities and joint co-owners of apartment buildings, researchers working on energy efficiency projects.

Abstract This study investigates the effectiveness of different energy retrofitting techniques and examines the impact of employing those methods on energy consumption of existing residential buildings. Based on the research findings, the most effective and practical method of retrofitting has been proposed in order to improve energy efficiency of existing buildings. In order to achieve this goal, an existing residential building has been simulated in FirstRate 5 software so as to determine the existing thermal performance of the building. Afterwards, considering sustainable design principles, different insulation layers, glazing, and construction materials have been employed to conduct a comprehensive thermal performance study. Based on the research outcomes, the best technique for increasing energy efficiency of existing buildings and reducing their environmental impact and footprint has been identified and proposed for practical purposes.

Introduction. Sustainable economic development, increasing the role of e-commerce, receiving of fast access to information and multichannel of information exchanging enhance of the innovation activity at enterprise. According to this, topical question is the improvement the approaches to components of management system of innovative activity of energy service company. Purpose: the study of components of innovative management at energy service company on the basis of including of modern tendencies of economy and society development. Method (methodology). Methodological basis of the research were the following methods: induction and deduction – for considering the essence of the concepts «innovation system» and «innovative enterprise»; system-functional – for determining the components of the innovative management system of the energy service company; logical generalization – for distinguishing the place and role of innovative management in the activity of the energy service company. Results. The article is explored approaches to defining an innovation system and an innovative enterprise. Energy service companies are seen as innovating businesses. It is noted that the innovation management system is treated as a separate management mechanism, as a subsystem of the innovation system, as an element of the overall management system of a company, organization or institution. The place and role of the innovative management system in the activity of the energy service company is established. The results of research the components of the enterprise innovation management system is the basis for further scientific research in the direction of defining the tasks of innovative management of energy service companies.

One of the strategic objectives of the European Union is a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and improvement of energy efficiency by at least 32.5% in different areas of the economy by 2030. However, little is known about the impact of payment in retail on energy consumption. The purpose of this paper is to assess the chain of losses of time and energy, and therefore financial losses, that occur due to the imperfection of payment infrastructure and instruments using data of cashiers’ working time. The research is based on a regression analysis method, where the energy cost per payment transaction is considered in this study as a function of the number of customers per hour and the energy cost. The results of the panel models highlight that the number of customers per hour has a negative impact on the cost of energy per payment transaction. Furthermore, modern means and methods of payment, including cryptocurrencies, do not solve the problem of the excessive time that it takes to service payments, which entails a waste of energy and money. The empirical results give valuable insights into how to best organise payment in retail to achieve lower energy costs and improve energy efficiency in payment infrastructure.

Human living could become very difficult due to a lack of energy. The household sector plays a significant role in energy consumption. Trying to optimize and achieve efficient energy consumption can lead to large-scale energy savings. The aim of this paper is to identify the equipment and property affecting energy efficiency and consumption in residential homes. For this purpose, a hybrid data-mining approach based on K-means algorithms and decision trees is presented. To analyze the approach, data is modeled once using the approach and then without it. A data set of residential homes of England and Wales is arranged in low, medium and high consumption clusters. The C5.0 algorithm is run on each cluster to extract factors affecting energy efficiency. The comparison of the modeling results, and also their accuracy, prove that the approach employed has the ability to extract the findings with greater accuracy and detail than in other cases. The installation of boilers, using cavity walls, and installing insulation could improve energy efficiency. Old homes and the usage of economy 7 electricity have an unfavorable effect on energy efficiency, but the approach shows that each cluster behaved differently in these factors related to energy efficiency and has unique results.

The building sector presents poor performance in terms of energy efficiency and is looking for effective alternatives aimed at reducing the use of fossil fuels. The facade is a key element able to harness renewable energy as an Active Solar Thermal Facade (ASTF). The main purpose of this study is the assessment of a novel design concept based on a steel sandwich panel technology. The performance of the active system will be first addressed by a parametric study in order to analyze its behavior and secondly, by describing a real case based on an experimental test by connecting the active panels to a heat pump. The study shows the impact of solar irradiation and mass flow on the thermal jump achieved, while ambient and fluid inlet temperatures are the most influencing parameters in the efficiency of the facade. When coupled to the heat pump, results from a measurement campaign demonstrate a remarkable improvement in the performance of the ASTF. The results presented provide significant proof about the benefits of a synergetic combination of both technologies—solar facades and heat pumps—as efficient alternatives for the building sector, aiming to improve energy efficiency as well as reduce their dependence on non-renewable sources.

This study pays more attention to the energy consumption saving, environmental pollution, and health efficiency improvement. We employ the Slack-based measure of Dynamic network Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model (DNSBM) to assess the impact of forestry area on annual and overall energy and health efficiency in 2 intertemporal stages, and also put forward on direction and magnitude to be improved respect to the slack variables. For the empirical study, this study employs the 13 countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Plus Three Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as APT) during 2011-2015. From the empirical evidence, it is not easy to raise gross domestic product while reducing energy consumption and PM2.5 emissions to improve energy efficiency. What makes people neglect is the impact of reduced forestry area on health efficiency. Optimistically, all economies are able to adopt measures from policy and technical perspectives, for instance, appropriately adjust energy-related policies, energetically develop innovative energy technologies, and preserve forestry areas, to create a harmonious atmosphere featuring economic development, environmental conservation, and national health and well-being.

It is an increasingly urgent demand for Cigarette manufacturers to promote energy conservation. Energy management system is an important tool to further reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency for cigarette manufacturers. In this paper, the design principles, the overall framework and the system function of the energy management system in a cigarette manufacturer are introduced. After energy management system is put into operation, comprehensive energy consumption per unit product is about 16.35% shorter than before. It has some reference value for the construction of other cigarette enterprise.

The growth of energy efficiency in Russian economy is a priority for its development. The main role in this process will be played by the transition to innovative energy. The use of innovative technologies is an important factor in the development of economy and energy. In these conditions, it is necessary to develop new approaches to the substantiation of development forecasts. Irkutsk region has large reserves of energy resources. The innovative development of energy in Irkutsk region will increase the energy efficiency of economy and improve the state of the environment. The introduction of modern technological measures will reduce fuel consumption. The solution to this problem is important for Irkutsk region as an environmentally disadvantaged region. This fact determines the relevance of the study. The aim of the study is determining the degree of influence of innovative development of energy on the ecology of the region. The article shows the main directions of innovative development of the energy sector of Irkutsk region and gives their environmental assessment. Research methods are the system analysis, balance methods, statistical methods. The authors develop a method for assessing the impact of the innovative energy development on the ecological state of the region, and create model-computer tools. The results can be used by regional authorities and energy companies to forecast and manage the innovative development of energy in Irkutsk region.

The paper investigates the peculiarities of constructing a cognitive model of development for enterprises on the basis of energy efficiency. The stages of conducting cognitive modeling for managing the development of enterprises in the energy industry have been determined within the scope of work. Cognitive analysis and modeling are conceptually innovative elements within the structure of the system dedicated to generation of efficient management decisions, which further allows: to study problems with vague factors and interconnections; to account for the impact of changes in the external environment; to use the objective trends in the innovative development of the situation to company’s advantage. Such technologies are increasingly gaining trust and confidence with organizations engaged in strategic and operational planning on all levels and across all spheres of innovation management of enterprise development. Employing cognitive technologies in the economic sphere enables to develop and substantiate a strategy of innovation management of enterprise development with the consideration for the impact of changes in external and internal environment. The work examines the factors of the cognitive model of innovation management of development for enterprise of energy industry based upon four sectors: enterprises in the energy sector; energy generation business; government; ecology. A study has been conducted in relation to the impact of 16 factors of external business environment on generating adjective decisions with regard to managing the development of enterprises in the energy industry on the basis of impulse modeling. It has been proven that within the system of innovation management of enterprise development the key object-oriented factor is the «Level of enterprise development» while other factors remain controllable. It is namely due to the dynamic analysis that it becomes possible to determine stabilizing and destabilizing factors of influence on the development of enterprises. Within the scope of the paper, the ranges of change in indicator factors related to management of enterprise development in the «min-max» system have been identified. Prospects of further research lie with constructing scenarios for development of enterprises in the energy industry, particularly with the implementation of impulse modeling that would allow to elaborate development strategies, specifically concerning the use of renewable sources of energy.
