If our current environmental predicament, and recent catastrophes such as the nuclear meltdown at Fukushima in 2011, can be diagnosed as partly a crisis of the imagination, then radical action is needed. Ecopoetics can help by directing attention to the agentic properties of matter, and to the sometimes unexpected ways in which chains of events are brought about, through principles of both randomness and design. In Yōko Tawada’s literary work, chance intra-actions between human and material agencies lead to a variety of surprising, surreal scenarios. Focusing on an array of Tawada’s texts, with particular attention to her post-Fukushima novel, The Last Children of Tokyo (US title The Emissary, 2018, Japanese original Kentōshi, 2014), this article argues that Tawada’s emphasis on the random and unexpected can provide a valuable ecopoetic perspective, serving both as political critique and as contribution to new materialist thought. Attention to material and linguistic agency is central to Tawada’s surrealist and animistic poetics, which foregrounds what she describes as ‟language magic”—language as an agentic force of its own with a propensity for generating unexpected effects. By situating Tawada’s post-Fukushima writing in the context of her wider work, I argue that her approach can help us to move to a less anthropocentric and agent-centric perspective through paying attention to the creative potential of language and matter, and to how these generate effects through processes of both randomness and design.

Summary In the epistemic frame of the biocultural turn and of the neuroaesthetics, we have developed neurohermeneutics as an approach to literature that aims at contributing to the current debate about the linkage between literary, cognitive and neuroscientific studies, focusing on the relationship between mindbrain processes mirrored in the formal features of the text and the strategies activated by the author in a text in order to guide the reader in imagining, emotionally feeling and cognitively getting meanings out of the literary experience. The aim of the neurohermeneutical approach is to grasp and describe phenomenologically the mirroring process between the two extremes of the literary experience, i.e. the writer’s creative process as it is mirrored in the formal features of the literary work and the reader’s imaginative reconfiguration of the text, and what they share in common. The reader revives the mental imaginative processes of the author by creating his/her unrepeatable individual experiences of the text and subjectively redesigning it in an endless loop of features that trigger the imagination and its creative potential both while writing and by reading literature.

This article suggests an attempt to analyse a literary work from the period of Bulgarian National Revival — the dialogue “The Watch” by Georgi Zhivkov. Its aim is to study some aspects of the technical progress which is unconditionally linked to the following of certain cultural and civilizational models, the removal of the boundaries between the Self and the Other, and the unfolding of human creative potential. However, as with almost everything in life, it has a different side, provoking hesitation, uncertainty, and in some cases, a definite denial. “The Watch” is the text that belongs to that other side with the proviso: the rejection of the technical means not in itself as an achievement of the human mind, but of the replacement through it of basic existential categories the consequences of which affect not only the individual but also the relations with the world. In the article the cultural and literary-historical study and ‘close reading’ interpretation are used.

Jacques Derrida regularly appeals to an affirmative gesture that is ‘prior’ to or more ‘originary’ than the form of the question, and this suggests one way to understand deconstruction's critical force. The ‘Yes, yes’, he says, situates a ‘vigil or beyond of the question’ with respect to an ‘irreducible responsibility’. Some Derrida scholars therefore construe the double affirmation as a source or ground of critique. In this paper, I refute this suggestion. While an originary ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘come’ (viens) does open the fields of (for example) ‘inheritance’, language, or ‘holistic webs’, I argue, it only marks (will have marked) the processes of différance or of trace that make signification possible in general. No thing, as such, is thereby affirmed. This is why the originary affirmation cannot be said to constitute, in itself, the imperative (il la faut) of the logic (la logique) of ethical-political critique. To explain why a certain ethical imperative can be associated with deconstruction, one must determine why one is always already subject to a vigil that opens critique to its own possibility. One must also determine how the affirmative gesture relates to deconstruction's critical force.

The article gets opportunities to use the polyphonic confessional novel ‘Second-Hand Time’ by S. Alexievych for   a spiritual healing of the post-totalitarian societies. Such healing is characterized by a very important feature like the synthesis of the schema-therapy and bibliotherapy as a mean of solving the problems connected with re-socialization, humanistic psycho education of the present generations, personality self-education. It is clarified in which way  the exposition of irrational beliefs and dispositions (schemes) and techniques of mastering, which are given in the form of dysfunctional child and parent particles  as well as coping styles of conquest, avoiding and overcompensation in the literary work, may enhance the understanding of  the causes of formation, the mechanisms of preservation and functioning of  illusory destructive and victim   directives in the collective and personality value consciousness depriving either personality or entire society of the  attributes of subjectivity, responsibility, and respect. It is concluded that the author's position as to the limited re-paternity gives a chance to make an aksiocorrection of the present motivational discourse peculiar to the generations hurt by the Communist ideology and deprivation: to promote the validation and reconstruction of the negative life experience as well as strengthening of the productive coping-particles of a child and an adult to interrupt the pathologic transgenic transmission.

In the article there was an attempt to analyze the phenomenon "experience" in the form of investigating a person’s creative potential. The theoretic methodological background of the performed above problem is conceptual background of humanistic psychology and phenomenological approach. Experience as an essential part of a person’s creative potential is regarded in relation to such leading trends as stereotype and originality. On the one hand, the experience is emphasized to be able to promote the model of algorithm and stereotype, conservatism in solving new tasks that is certain to inhibit creativity. On the other hand, personalities with high creative potential have an experience that is becoming an integral form of life work where in the structure of old knowledge you can always find a place for both new ones coming out "from inside" and the ones the author takes due to his own initiation and search. In this way he sketches motion vector and gets the "by-product" of his creativity, it means self-development. Hence, creative experience is interpreted as the one to absorb accumulation and integration of all creative experience in a person’s life; also his/her readiness to creativity and continuing education. The subject of creativity remains opened to a new experience that is fully ready for a new cognition and creativity.
