The Indonesian Navy as a defense and security force of the sea has combat tools and supporting facilities projected in the Integrated Fleet Weapon System (Sistem Senjata Armada Terpadu/SSAT) with several components including Indonesian navy ships, marines, aircraft and bases. Depo level maintenance is comprehensive maintenance that can only be carried out by personnel who are experts in their field and supported by complete and sophisticated equipment and facilities. Maintenance at this level includes complete overhaul repairment, repowering MLM (mid life modernization), calibration of all equipment, and repairs to all parts thoroughly. Depo Level Maintenance is the nature of maintaining technical conditions based on rotary hours. If the repair schedule specified in the SPT (System for Planned Maintenance), the schedule must be carried out. This research aimed to present a priority setting solution in Depo level maintenance wherein the highest Indonesian Navy Ship ranking is determined from the level of the decision makers. Fuzzy MCDM is a method developed for decision making on several alternative decisions to get an accurate and optimal decision. In Indonesian Navy Ship Hardepo priority ranking process taken from the level of data processing decision makers using the Fuzzy MCDM method, the 5 highest priority values in implementation were obtained. Hardepo with the highest scores were KRP-812 0.111, BDU-841 0.108, LAM-374 0.107, KRS-624 0.097 and TJA-541 0.073

ABSTRACT Navy as a marine security defense force has an Integrated Armored Weapon System (SSAT), one of them is the power of Submarine and the amount of it will continue to evolve. The current condition demands to perform development and review of strategic and optimal submarine training areas to support the exercise and preparedness of the submarine's strength to prepare the readiness of combat conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the best criteria for the location of the submarine training by analyzing and reviewing some of the existing locations of Navy Submarine Exercise practice and doing further development. In the selection of submarine training criteria, the method used was the Fuzzy Multiple Decision-Making Criteria (FMCDM).  Keywords: Determination Criteria, Training Location, Fuzzy MCDM

Understanding employees’ perceptions in team collaboration may help managers select and develop effective teamwork and efficient job completion. Numerous criteria, including qualitative and quantitative, and their importance weights must be considered in evaluating individual diversity perception; therefore, evaluating individual diversity perception is a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. The purpose of this paper is to use a fuzzy MCDM method to evaluate the personal perception of working in a diverse workgroup. A ranking method using the mean of relative values is proposed to rank the final fuzzy values to complete the model. Formulas of the ranking procedure are derived to help execute the decision-making procedure and a numerical comparison is conducted to demonstrate the advantage of the proposed ranking method. In addition, a survey about personal diversity perception and willingness to work verifies the feasibility and validity of the proposed mean of relative values based fuzzy MCDM method. The results indicate that decision-makers prefer to work in a different countries-same working field group. More experienced decision-makers, unlike students, prefer to work in the same working sector group.

Summary The theory of fuzzy sets allows to analyze insufficiently precise, accurate, complete phenomena which can not be modeled by the theory of probability or interval mathematics. We define fuzzy sets as sets where the boundary of the set is unclear and depends on subjective estimation or individual preference. In addition to the standard interpretation scale, described above, a set of numbers to each qualitative attribute must be assigned. First of all, it is necessary to determine the procedure for determining fuzzy numbers describing the attributes. One of the imperfections of the fuzzy sets is subjectivism when defining the boundaries of fuzzy sets and functions of belonging, which can significantly influence the final decision. The decision maker’s subjectivity is also present in the determination of weighted coefficients. However, in case of giving weight, fixed values are necessary. Some decisions require multidisciplinary knowledge, so the decision-making process includes more group decision-makers, who independently give their grades.

AbstractWhether humans are optimal decision makers is still a debated issue in the realm of perceptual decisions. Taking advantage of the direct link between an optimal decision-making and the confidence in that decision, we offer a new dual-decisions method of inferring such confidence without asking for its explicit valuation. Our method circumvents the well-known miscalibration issue with explicit confidence reports as well as the specification of the cost-function required by ‘opt-out’ or post-decision wagering methods. We show that observers’ inferred confidence in their first decision and its use in a subsequent decision (conditioned upon the correctness of the first) fall short of both the ideal Bayesian strategy, as well as of an under-sampling approximation or a modified Bayesian strategy augmented with an additional bias term to accommodate global miscalibration of confidence. The observed data are instead significantly better fitted by a model positing that observers use only few confidence levels or states, at odds with the continuous confidence function of stimulus level prescribed by a normative behavior. These findings question the validity of normative-Bayesian accounts of subjective confidence and metaperceptual judgments.

The method of iodometric determination of chlorates impurities in sodium hypochlorite solutions for medical and veterinary purposes was developed. This method does not require sophisticated equipment and can be implemented directly where the solutions are used. The method is based on the different rates of interaction of ClO- and ClO3- with iodide ions depending on the acidity of the medium. We have shown that blank titration is advisable to improve the accuracy of the determination of low concentrations of chlorates in the matrix of hypochlorite which is present in excess since in this case possible systematic errors due to the presence of oxidizing impurities in the reagents are prevented. To quantify the low concentrations of chlorates, we proposed to remove 85-95% of hypochlorite ions by means of reducing their excess with sodium sulfite at pH 10.5. The solution of sodium sulfite does not require standardization before each analysis in the proposed procedure. The possibility of quantitative determination of chlorate impurities in the range of 2-50 mg/L in the presence of 50-500–fold excess of sodium hypochlorite with an error of 5% has been proved. The expanded uncertainty of chlorate determination did not exceed 0.6 mg/L.

This study aims to develop a financial stability index for the Pakistani financial sector by using the financial reports for the period of 2001–2011. Specifically, we constructed three different classes of indices in this study based on a variance-equal weighted approach, a linear probability approach, and a logistic approach. We also assessed the prediction accuracy of the financial stability index. All indices indicated that profitability, liquid liability to the liquid asset, non-performing loan, uncovered liabilities, interest spread and inter-fund to liquid liabilities variables contribute significantly to the determination of financial stress of commercial banks. We also compared the results of indices computed with different methodologies—among them was the index constructed by employing coefficients of the logistic model and which performed outstandingly in predicting distressed and non-distressed banks. Moreover, the findings of this study suggest that in regard to return on assets and return on equity, when employed in a stepwise manner for developing the financial stability index, the results are similar in the sense that both profitability indicators have the same behavior. Finally, we conclude that the financial stability indices developed in this study could help decision makers to detect and avoid instability in the future.

Selecting a suitable Multi Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) method is a crucial step in selecting appropriate medical equipment. The aim of the research is to define the most appropriate tomography equipment through the integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. A hybrid model is presented. The AHP is used to define the weights of each criterion and sub-criterion through qualitative comparisons. Then, TOPSIS is used to evaluate the purchase options. This research provides decision makers with a scientific and rigorous decision support system useful in strategic and complex decision. A numerical example is also presented.
