To meet the performance test for the confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) accurately in some specific application occasions, the spatial resolution imaging principle of confocal laser scanning microscope was analyzed theoretically. And the micron line spacing as the measurement standard has tried to investigate the lateral resolution of CLSM in experiment. The value range of the lateral resolution was calculated by the fluctuation state of the output light intensity signal when there is the lateral movement between the objective with sample. At the same time, some reasons for spatial resolution are also been evaluated in theory. Experiments demonstrate that if the value of the line spacing standard is closer to the spatial resolution of CLSM, the standard can be utilized to test the spatial resolution. So we can use a a series of lines spacing standards with different lines spacing values to test the serial effective resolution. And in our experiment, we only measured line spacing standard with 8μm line width and 100μm line pitch with many times by CLSM, and the spatial resolution of the CLSM is obtained about more minimal than 0.3μm by the scanning curves.

Thermal stability and thermal fatigue performance tests of four kinds of cold work roll steels were done. There are indications that after isothermal 2~6 hours under conditions of 400°C~720°C, the best is 8Cr5SiMoV steel, its thermal stability grows up as isothermal time increase; the second is 8Cr4MoV steel; the worse are 8Cr5MoV steel and 9Cr3MoV steel; and all the thermal stability of four kinds of cold work roll steels are lower than 400°C. Thermal fatigue performance of four kinds of cold work roll steels are basically same as their thermal stability, i.e. the best is 8Cr5SiMoV steel, and the second is 8Cr4MoV steel.

Ultrasonic fatigue performance test of 16Mn steel and welded joints are carried out by using ultrasonic fatigue test system devices developed by Tianjin University to research its fatigue behavior in the super long life regime. The results show that: regardless of the base mental or welded joints, the S-N curve is a continuous decline curve; Welded joints does not exist the traditional concept of fatigue limit within the range of 106~107, when the number of load cycles exceeds 107 even 109, fatigue fracture still occurs. Within the super long life range, the fatigue strength of welded joint is much lower than the fatigue strength of base mental. It is dangerous to use the existing fatigue data to design the welded structure within the super long life regime.
