Perception that U.S. government energy subsidies have favored nuclear energy at expense of renewables (hydroelectric, wind, solar, geothermal) is not supported by facts. Largest beneficiaries between 1950 and 2006 from federal energy subsidies have been oil and gas receiving more than half of all federal incentives. Primary subsidy for nuclear energy has been R&D. Evaluating the actual electrical energy produced resulting from government subsidy support shows that wind and solar have cost taxpayers 355mils/kWh, coal 1.53 mils/kWh, nuclear 3.8 mils/kWh and hydro at 5.88 mils/kWh. Average cost of U.S. electrical energy in 2006 was 91 mils/kWh so renewables were subsidized at four times the average cost of electricity. Subsidy for Solar Photovoltaic to produce 0.01% of U.S. electricity as of 2006 was $4.43/kWh.

The main purpose of this study was to probe whether or not there is a statistically significant difference between the prospective teachers' perceptions of professional identity and current teachers' self-perceptions. To meet the end, the researchers applied the Teachers' Professional Identity Questionnaire, by Hasegawa and Kudomi, which contains 48 items on a four-point Likert system. This questionnaire was distributed among 440 Iranian professionals who had majored in one of the majors related to English language. After collecting the data, the researchers tapped them into SPSS software and analyzed them statistically. A Mann-Whitney test on the scores of the two groups of participants highlighted a statistically significant difference. Hence, data analysis indicated that there is a statistically significant difference between the prospective teachers' perceptions of professional identity and the current teacher's self-perceptions.

In this research, it was aimed to explore the relation between attitude towards renewable energy sources and critical thinking disposition. For this purpose, relational survey model was used in the research. The research group consisted of 468 prospective teachers studying in faculty of education in a public university in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. Renewable Energy Sources Attitude Scale in order to evaluate prospective teachers' attitudes towards renewable energy sources, and Critical Thinking Disposition Scale for evaluating critical thinking dispositions were used. In the research, the relation between the data set for attitude towards renewable energy sources comprising of variables which are application request, importance of education, country interest, environmental awareness and investments and the data set for critical thinking disposition comprising of variables which are metacognition, flexibility, systematicity, tenacity-patience, open-mindedness by the canonical analysis. As a result of the canonical correlation analysis, a significant relation was found between the attitudes towards renewable energy sources and the critical thinking dispositions and it was found that the common variance shared between the data sets was 22.23%.
