BACKGROUND Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death globally with more than 17 million deaths reported worldwide in 2015. Recently, the ABCD Risk Questionnaire was developed as a concise, validated and easy to use questionnaire, using participants attending the National Health Service (NHS) Health Check program in the United Kingdom. Since its development, it is yet to be used in the general population online or offline to provide further evidence of its validity and reliability. OBJECTIVE This study investigated the construct validity and reliability of the ABCD Risk Questionnaire and compared cardiovascular disease knowledge, perception of risk, perceived benefits of behaviour change and healthy eating intention between urban and rural dwellers. METHODS A cross-sectional survey that recruited Tasmanian residents aged 18 years or older. RESULTS With the exception of the cardiovascular disease knowledge subscale, all other subscales demonstrated acceptable values for both construct validity and reliability analyses. Rural dwellers had a higher perceived risk of heart attack and stroke (19.45 versus 18.42; p<0.001) compared to urban dwellers. No significant differences were observed for cardiovascular disease knowledge, perceived benefits of behaviour change, and healthy eating intention. CONCLUSIONS This study provides evidence supporting the validity and reliability of the subscales of the ABCD Risk Questionnaire. This suggest that the questionnaire can be used in the general population in an online environment, and in the development of educational materials. The study also provided preliminary evidence that the perceived personal risk of heart attack and stroke is higher in rural compared to urban dwellers in Tasmania. Further studies using a random sample from the population is required. Further testing of the ABCD Risk Questionnaire against the Pooled Cohort Risk Equation for estimating atherosclerotic CVD risk (2013 PCE‐ASCVD) or the 1991 Framingham model is also recommended. This may be useful in planning and developing online health initiatives for cardiovascular disease.

The NEO-IPIP-300 is a 300-item version scale of freely available personality tests based on the OCEAN Model of 30 distinctive personality traits. The scale measures human personality preferences and groups them into five distinct factors, namely Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. The scale has been translated into many languages before, but there was no translation and norms available for the Urdu language.Paper reports the translation, creation of web version, data collection (N=869), and reliability of Urdu version of NEO-IPIP-300. We also did a CFA Analysis and Measurement Invariance test as part of the paper. Full measurement invariance was met for the full model, and partial measurement invariance was met for neuroticism (metric and scalar) and extraversion (metric). In general, all models fit well and suggest that the Urdu IPIP-300-NEO aligns well with the English IPIP-300-NEO. In some cases, the Urdu inventory performed better (e.g., higher internal consistency) than the English inventory.

This study aimed to develop an instrument for measuring the attitudes that reflect the characteristics of the pandemic (Adult Pandemic Attitude Scale (A-PAS)) and verifying its validity and reliability. This study used a methodological research design and was conducted with a development step and an evaluation step. The development step included development of preliminary items, content validity, face validity, and preliminary investigation. The evaluation step included item analysis, construct validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, criterion validity, factor naming, reliability, and completion of the final instrument. The A-PAS developed in this study consisted of a total of 20 items in five dimensions. The internal consistency of 20 items of the A-PAS, Cronbach’s α was 0.92 for 20 items, Cronbach’s α for each factor, a subscale of instrument, was 0.61~0.87 and Raykov’s p coefficient of each factor, which is a subscale of the tool, was found to be 0.60 to 0.88. Analysis of construct validity showed the results as follows: χ2 (p) = 134.05 (p < 0.001), RMSEA = 0.02, RMR = 0.02, GFI = 0.94, CFI = 0.99. The study findings suggest that the developed instrument can be utilized to measure the attitudes of adults toward pandemics, and reflect the reality of the pandemic situation. The outcomes can be used as valuable data for intervention, prevention activities, and policy preparation. The instrument will be applied in the event of a pandemic, such as COVID-19, and will be helpful in promoting the health of the people.

Objective: To translate and validate the ABC-Scale in Urdu language to predict risk of fall in older population. Study design: Cross-cultural Translation and validation Place and Duration: Study was conducted in older adult community of Sialkot from March 2020 to December 2020. Methodology: Translation of ABC in Urdu was conducted by using Beaton et al guidelines. Two bilingual translators translated the original version into Urdu language step wise, correction process was followed. Then two backward translations were done by language expert. After all this process, the translated version was reviewed by the professionals and the final version was applied on 15 individuals. Its reliability and validity was tested on 60 older adults. Results: For test re test reliability, intra class correlation coefficient ICC was measured with a value of 0.984 Which shows good test re-test reliability. The internal consistency and reliability of ABC was calculated by Cronbach’s alpha for total score with a value of 0.985. Content validity was good with values of CVI ranging from 0.767 to 0.955. To test the discriminative validity, independent t test was used to show the difference between the healthy and unhealthy adults. Factor analysis of UABC showed total variance 81.277 and cumulative variance was also 81.277. To calculate construct validity of U-ABC Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used and measured as 0.558. Conclusion: It was concluded that Urdu version of UABC is a valid assessment tool for older adults with fear of fall. It has good content validity, construct validity and reliability. This article attempts to examine how to analyze the validity of the assessment instrument. In fact, not all teachers are able to make the correct instruments. Many teachers only take instruments from other schools to be used as a tool in measuring their students, even though the same instrument is not necessarily a measuring instrument with different objects. This habit needs to be improved. The teacher should be able to make their own instruments, because the teacher knows best about the differences in the abilities of each student. When the teacher uses instruments from other schools, where there are parts that the teacher has not conveyed in class, the students themselves are the losers. In making an assessment instrument the teacher must pay attention to two characteristics. Namely validity and reliability. Validity itself is divided into content validity, construct validity, and eksternal validity.
