In order to improve teaching quality, the collaborative learning model was applied to English virtual electronic teaching. A virtual e-learning platform suitable for English teaching was constructed. With the help of collaborative learning, students' English learning psychology was reshaped. The results showed that the collaborative learning model eliminated students' resistance and strangeness in English virtual electronic teaching. Students' enthusiasm for learning was stimulated and learning efficiency was improved. To sum up, this method effectively improves the effectiveness of English virtual electronic teaching.

Throughout the world, mathematics plays a vital role for the educational and developmental aspirations of any country. The quest to teach mathematical knowledge in a viable and effective way so as to induce creativity and applicability among learners is an ongoing challenge, especially for developing countries. A better understanding of how students learn mathematics coupled with effective application of mathematical e-learning can enhance meaningful learning of mathematics and make the subject more exciting. In this note, we introduce a mathematical e-learning model suitable for the modern digital era based on the learning theories of social constructivism, social realism, and connectivity. We then discuss the feasibility of implementing the model on an open source e-learning platform. Our findings reveal that the platform offers a developer’s tool for coding and customizing templates to attain higher levels of usage and interactivity in which learners can create and control learning objects while they observe the results.

With the economic development in our country, there are more and more international exchanges and communications. Hence, the ability to read, write, and communicate in English is essential and very necessary. In traditional English classroom teaching, teachers are the disseminators of knowledge, whereas students only receive knowledge passively. Due to the limitation of teaching hours and the lack of teaching approaches, it is necessary to make up for the insufficiency in the teaching activities through computer technology and multimedia technology. Abundant teaching approaches can cultivate the independent inquiry ability of students, and the establishment of such an English learning platform is conducive to improving the students’ ability to make full use of the information technology. Through teaching and learning, the students can become the main entity in the English teaching, which can stimulate their enthusiasm and form a good awareness for English learning. In this paper, the radial basis function (hereinafter referred to as RBF for short) algorithm is adopted. Combined with the constructive English teaching method, practical design and construction are carried out by analyzing the concepts, principles, and application strategies of smart classroom teaching in the multimedia background. The practice has proved that the method proposed in this paper is effective and has certain research value and positive significance for the research on English teaching.

In A Brief Analysis of Yuxi Dialect, Fu Chang makes a detailed explanation on dialects’ features and the value of its study. In The General Received Pronunciation of British English by Fengtong Chang, the author dealt with reasons why London English became standard English, and also elaborated on consonants and vowels in British English. Up to today no one has ever made a contrast between the two languages and further diminished the interference from dialect in English pronunciation learning of the Yuxi students. This paper is designed to make a contrast between the two languages: Yuxi dialect in Zhoucheng and Received Pronunciation; as well as the differences between their consonants and vowels respectively can be achieved to rectify the pronunciations’ deviation in English learning. It is intended to improve English teaching quality of Yuxi dialect speakers and enhance the pronunciation standardization of English there.

This paper discusses the English learning methods and identifies the problems in English teaching and self-learning in China, and then based on the VB platform, it proposes building a platform to facilitate communication between teachers, learners and other participants. At the same time, it adopts the object-oriented development approach to analyze the construction method for the online English self-learning platform and uses UML language to design this platform. At last, this paper uses general testing methods to test the interfaces, functions, performances and security of the VB-based online English self-learning platform and analyzes the performances and deficiencies of the platform based on test results.

This chapter presents the architecture of an agent-based m-Learning platform, “Personalised Ubiquitous Learning Platform” (PULP), which incorporates adaptive personalisation and collaborative learning for the development of enhanced e-learning. The main objective of this platform is to provide University College Dublin with a single supported intelligent mobile learning environment that will promote adaptive and collaborative learning, human computer interaction on mobile clients anywhere, anytime and also to provide useful recommendation about available educational resources. The system aims to enhance the students’ learning experience in third level educational environment.
