<p><em>Smartphones and applications are one of the most used things in learning and management systems. They make everyone connected with society, and those who feel sorry for it, especially college students are always looking for things that benefit them at a university. In this research, there is a need to apply a new application for student education service with an easy way of managing data and generate progression on reports feedback in his or her university life. We conducted a survey with the students of Al Buraimi University College and we reached a positive result that helps in the work. Smartphones have become pervasive and sales of all categories have many functions, in search (application of mobile-based devices in education design) to talk about applications in smart devices that serve education and take their information for management purpose and ease of use and follow them in any way. </em></p>

Eden Farm application is an application system used by customers to order vegetables and fruits. Eden Farm collaborates with hundreds of local farmers and dozens of raw material suppliers to provide all the culinary business needs of thousands of Eden Farm customers. However, there are still many who do not understand the usability of the Eden Farm application. In building a good system, one important part is good usability. Usability is closely related to user experience. User experience plays an important role in the development of a system, especially in the Eden Farm application, because user experience can show the ease that users feel and efficiency through user experience in using the system. The author tries to use the USE Questionnaire to 100 respondents. The analysis resulted in an average value of the Usefulness parameter of 85%. Then the parameter Ease of Learning with 82%, and Ease of Use with 80%, and the smallest is Satisfaction with 79%. These results indicate that the Eden Farm application is good. The results of measuring the usability of Eden Farm application with the classification "Very Appropriate" to use, with a usability value of 84.18%. The results of usability measurement are expected to help the development and improvement of the Eden Farm application in the future.

Companies are now recognizing that their employees require a spectrum of mobile applications in order to achieve maximum efficiency at the workplace. Mobile applications such as WeChat, Twitter and WhatsApp via smartphones have become influential tools and extensively used by employees at the workplace. This state-of-the-art technology in communication has penetrated various fields, including routine administrative jobs at the workplace. The objective of this research is toinvestigate the acceptance of the WhatsApp mobile application for formal use among support staff at The Commission of the City of Kuching North, Sarawak (DBKU). Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention of the users in using WhatsApp are the variables measured for job performance. The researchers utilized convenience sampling, whereby a total of 105 employees from two departments participated in the investigation. Data was collected using a set of selfadministered questionnaires which was adapted from Davis. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of WhatsApp as a means of communication were significant for job performance at DBKU. The employees felt more competent during their formal interaction at the workplace as less effort was needed while using WhatsApp. The existence of features which were user-friendly and easy operational functions helped to create positive attitudes when utilizing the application. Faster feedback, ease of use, and convenience were some of the reasons for the employees’ willingness to use WhatsApp for communication at the workplace.

Building information modelling (BIM) is one of the new technologies being used in architectural and constructions projects. At present, BIM curricula are being taught in many Malaysian higher learning institutions, including at the certificate level in community colleges. Even though many studies have investigated behavioural intention to adopt BIM in the industrial setting, studies on the intention to use BIM among students during their training or learning have not received the same level of attention. This study, therefore, investigated the extent to which community college students are willing to accept and use BIM. Factors that influenced their behavioural intention to use BIM, as well as the relationship between the factors and intention to use were also examined. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was used as the theoretical framework to guide the research, where students’ behavioural intention to use BIM was explained through their perceptions of its usefulness and ease of use, as well as their attitude towards BIM utilization in the classroom. A total of 144 community college students enrolled in the architecture programmes in Malaysia were selected as the sample using convenience sampling. The findings show that the students’ behavioural intention to adopt BIM is high. They also perceive BIM as useful and easy to use, and their attitude towards BIM usage appears to be positive. The regression model produced an adjusted R-squared value of 0.790 indicating that 79% of the total variance in the students’ intention to use BIM can be explained by the three independent variables, i.e., perceived usefulness, ease of use, and attitude. In establish good relationship with customer, companies need to have a good customer relationship management system as well. The purpose of this study is to explore the level of development of the use of instant messaging applications that are used for mobility of companies in establishing relationships with customers; and to investigate the factors considered important for the success of the mobility of companies in establishing relationships with their customers. In this study it was found that not all instant messaging application has a feature which serves to establish rapport with customers. The results showed some of the determinants of success in the utilization of instant messaging applications is the ease of use, target the most used mobile devices, operating systems most used by users, and mobile application user interface that is used. The social norms media approach is an intervention designed to change college students’ drinking behavior by correcting false perceptions through normative feedback. The present study is a preliminary assessment of a social norms intervention’s attempt to decrease drinking amounts in students making the transition to university life. Data were collected on three groups of first-year students: (a) spring 1999 for baseline freshmen drinking norms, (b) summer 1999 to assess incoming freshmen drinking patterns, and (c) spring 2000 as a follow-up to assess effectiveness of the intervention for freshmen who entered fall 1999. Results indicated that the majority of freshmen students consistently drank in a moderate range (0–5 drinks), yet consistently overestimated their peers’ drinking levels. Incoming freshmen had significantly higher levels of drinking and greater misperceptions than baseline university freshmen. Results suggest the drinking rates significantly decreased for incoming freshmen from summer 1999 compared to spring 2000 follow-up norms. Also, the results suggest that normative feedback on college students’ drinking may be needed at the high school level to correct faulty perceptions prior to entering a university environment.

Abstract The recent advancements in information and communication technologies have altered instructional contexts and re-shaped them into smart learning environments. One of the most common practices of these environments are learning management systems (LMS) where the learners and instructors utilize a software platform to fulfill, support and manage instructional activities around predefined objectives. Successful implementations of LMS have brought a variety on its usage from different cultures, genders, age groups or schooling levels. Hence, this study focuses on understanding the role of culture on LMS design, in along with the effects of gender, age and school year variables. The study participants were German (n = 83) and Spanish (n = 83) university students attending a fully online course offered by a South Korean university. At the end of the course, the students were asked to fulfill a survey on effective LMS design by pointing which features of LMS were more important for them. The survey included twenty questions on four major design factors; content management (six items), ease of use (five items), communication within LMS (four item) and screen design (five items). The dataset was analyzed by non-parametric statistical techniques around four variables on four dimensions (and their related survey questions). The most important result was insufficiency of one unique LMS design for all students which demonstrates the necessity of student demographics tailored smart systems. Additionally, age and gender variables were not making significant differences on LMS design as much as culture and school year variables. The study also revealed that while German students would appreciate goal-oriented individual learning, Spanish students would value process-oriented group learning with active communication. Furthermore, many features of LMS were highly valued by the freshman students more than other levels. The paper discusses these variables with possible explanations from the literature and depicts implementations for future design practices.

Sustaining the development of car-sharing is considered an efficient way to counter environmental issues worldwide. Against this background, college students are recognized as a promising customer group of car-sharing service providers in China. However, the determinants that promote students’ willingness to use car-sharing services are rarely studied, and the uniqueness of college students in China in the context of car-sharing is justified. Therefore, this paper examines the key factors that affect Chinese college students’ adoption of car-sharing. An empirical study using samples from Dalian Maritime University was conducted, and survey data were collected via the Internet. Specifically, respondents’ socio-demographics were obtained, and their latent attitudes on car-sharing services were measured in terms of willingness to use car-sharing services, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and safety concerns. In addition, nine hypothetical travel scenarios were defined, and regarding each travel scenario, the respondents were asked to state whether they were willing or not to use car-sharing services. On this basis, a hybrid logit model was established to investigate the key factors that influenced the willingness to use car-sharing services. Aside from the common findings in line with previous studies, the results indicate that with the increase in the number of travel fellows, willingness to use car-sharing services went up. Furthermore, college students’ willingness to use car-sharing services was significantly affected by money costs rather than time costs. Additionally, college students in China are more likely to use car-sharing services during workday off-peak hours and weekends. Separately, among the respondents’ latent attitudes, only the perceived usefulness of car-sharing services was found to have a significant and positive impact on students’ willingness to use them. Relevant policy implications with regards to theoretical findings are also offered in this paper to car-sharing service providers in China.
