<span lang="EN-US">Nowadays, the fingerprint scanner widely used to records attendance. However, this technology has a weakness. Much research has done to improve the attendance system by utilizing mobile technology, like usage a fingerprint smartphone and location by GPS sensor to validate user location manually. In this research, we developed an application to enhance the records attendance system with a smartphone by crossing numbers to verify user position automatically, which implemented in a mobile app.  This application using the PNPOLY method for detecting the location of the user inside of the polygon area predetermined. This method is part of the crossing number algorithm for increasing x and fixed y from point P, which x is latitude, and y is a longitude. The result of the experiment demonstrated that the percentage of successful validate user coordinate inside edges of the polygon boundary is 87%, depending on the GPS sensor embedded into a mobile device.</span>

Good coordination among school staff and families leads to increased learning quality and academic success for students with special education needs and disabilities (SEND). This pilot study aims to investigate the use of mobile technology for the coordination of therapy and learning for students with SEND. This study first follows a participatory design methodology to identify the key design principles required to inform the design of a coordination mobile app for special education. Then, a mobile app (IEP-Connect) is designed and implemented with the aim of facilitating information sharing between different parties involved in the intervention of students with SEND. The proposed app uses the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) as the focal point of coordination. The evaluation of the app focused on students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as their learning requires sharing information from different distributed sources. Results from the usability study revealed that the app has “good” usability and that participants were satisfied with the use of the app for recording and sharing IEP information. The results of this study provide an understanding of the ways in which a coordination app for special education could be made easy and rewarding to use.

The main purpose of this article is broaden known results concerning crossing numbers for join of graphs of order six. We give the crossing number of the join product G + Dn, where the graph G consists of one 5-cycle and of one isolated vertex, and Dn consists on n isolated vertices. The proof is done with the help of software that generates all cyclic permutations for a given number k, and creates a new graph COG for calculating the distances between all vertices of the graph. Finally, by adding some edges to the graph G, we are able to obtain the crossing numbers of the join product with the discrete graph Dn and with the path Pn on n vertices for other two graphs.

The efficacy of a mobile application to increase connectedness to nature and impart flora/fauna/ecological knowledge was assessed in 747 children in three separate and distinctive parks: a wetland, a prairie grassland, and an indoor tropical garden. The mobile application was developed with place-based education in mind. At each park, children were randomly assigned to one of three groups. One group of children toured the park using an application on a mobile device with their chaperones, another group toured the park with an environmental educator and their chaperones, and a third group toured the parks with a paper map and their chaperones. Results showed that the mobile application was just as effective at connecting children to nature as more traditional ways of non-formal environmental education, but the mobile application offered additional benefits such as higher ratings of fun.

The crossing number cr(G) of a graph G is the minimal number of crossings over all drawings of G in the plane. The exact crossing number is known only for few specific families of graphs. Cartesian products of two graphs belong to the first families of graphs for which the crossing number has been studied. Some results concerning crossing numbers are also known for join products of two graphs. In the paper, we start to collect the crossing numbers for the strong product of graphs, namely for the strong product of two paths.

For an unoriented link [Formula: see text], let [Formula: see text] be the ropelength of [Formula: see text]. It is known that in general [Formula: see text] is at least of the order [Formula: see text], and at most of the order [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text] is the minimum crossing number of [Formula: see text]. Furthermore, it is known that there exist families of (infinitely many) links with the property [Formula: see text]. A long standing open conjecture states that if [Formula: see text] is alternating, then [Formula: see text] is at least of the order [Formula: see text]. In this paper, we show that the braid index of a link also gives a lower bound of its ropelength. More specifically, we show that there exists a constant [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text] for any [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the largest braid index among all braid indices corresponding to all possible orientation assignments of the components of [Formula: see text] (called the maximum braid index of [Formula: see text]). Consequently, [Formula: see text] for any link [Formula: see text] whose maximum braid index is proportional to its crossing number. In the case of alternating links, the maximum braid indices for many of them are proportional to their crossing numbers hence the above conjecture holds for these alternating links.

It visualized the general trend of the number of related publications in a decade, discussed the attitudes of teachers and learners toward mobile device-assisted English learning, explored the effect of motivation on mobile device assisted English learning, discussed the influence of mobile device-assisted English learning on output and input English language skills, presented the influence of mobile device-assisted English learning on vocabulary knowledge acquisition, demonstrated the factors influencing the effectiveness of mobile English language learning, showed the general learning outcomes in mobile device-assisted English learning, together with the disadvantages of mobile technology-assisted English learning and co-citations of publications. When designing mobile devices, designers could include and optimize learning functions based on the findings.

Background. Healthcare is a challenging, yet so demanding sector that developing countries are paying more attention to recently. Statistics show that rural areas are expected to develop a high rate of heart diseases, which is a leading cause of sudden mortality, in the future. Thus, providing solutions that can assist rural people in detecting the cardiac risks early will be vital for uncovering and even preventing the long-term complications of cardiac diseases. Methodology. Mobile technology can be effectively utilized to limit the cardiac diseases’ prevalence in rural Middle East. This paper proposes a smart mobile solution for early risk detection of hard coronary heart diseases that uses the Framingham scoring model. Results. Smart HeartCare+ mobile app estimates accurately coronary heart diseases’ risk over 10 years based on clinical and nonclinical data and classifies the patient risk to low, moderate, or high. HeartCare+ also directs the patients to further treatment recommendations. Conclusion. This work attempts to investigate the effectiveness of the mobile technology in the early risk detection of coronary heart diseases. HeartCare+ app intensifies the communication channel between the lab workers and patients residing in rural areas and cardiologists and specialist residing in urban places.

Tourism is one of the largest growing industry worldwide. A tourist will naturally keep on travelling to different countries and sub-continents. Several researchers have addressed and proposed Mobile applications to facilitate Tourist and Tourismin different areas. A Mobile application to assist nightblind tourist is still one of the unaddressed issues by the researchers. This paper proposes a Mobile application model for the Tourist who facesdifficulty in vision during dark times, referred to as night blindness. The proposed application model is based on the difference of current time with sunset time. The application module uses mobile technology and difference of time function to proactively alert the night blind tourist to reach its safe place or destination before sunset. This model also provides an alternate path and distance with respect to time and user location. This proposed mobile application is very useful for the apprehensive night blind tourist who feels fear in travelling during the close of day times.
