The research considers evolution of industrial development and the educational policy of Russia of the first third of the 20th century. The authors investigate interrelation between processes of concentration of production, labor and professional education at the stage of the ending second technological "Large wave" (industrialization). The study purpose is to consider transformation of the system of higher business education as a social project of a new era – the era of mass production, mass labor and mass education. The research objectives are: to determine industrialization processes of production and society of Russia in 1890s-1930s, to define massification tools in the early Soviet epoch, to analyze experiments in the sphere of higher business education in Russia in 1918-1932. Research methodology consists of proceedings of Carlota Pérez and comparative historical analysis of industrial and educational changes. The main research results is justification of the “military-revolutionary” stage of industrialization in Russia, which was followed by social experiments in the sphere of higher business education that in the late twenties was replaced by “accelerated socialist” industrialization with mobilization planning and unidirectional specialized planned economic education.

The grid brings a new era to the Internet, by introducing new mechanisms, resources, and concepts which allow it to advance from a passive information medium into an active tool for creating, exploring, and sharing knowledge. In the meanwhile, the realisation of this trend is further spurred by the emergence of next generation grids (NGG) and the far more efficient, cost-effective, and broadly applicable infrastructure they introduce to cover a broader spectrum of business needs. Towards this direction and taking into account that mobility has become a central aspect in business, education, and entertainment, mobile grid has been recently developed as a full inheritor of grid covering the mobility aspects of applications, such as m-learning. In this context, this book chapter focuses on providing a business-technical presentation of mobile grid, as an enabling technology for next generation m-learning applications. We present a general mobile grid architecture able to serve the strict requirements such an m-learning application poses, and analyse the main trends and challenges in the mentioned sector.

Apart from the threat it poses for human health all over the world, Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the economies of all countries due to the measures taken by governments to restrict human mobility and social life driven by the concerns that health systems would collapse. In this period, radical changes in business relations, working style, and consumer behaviors have forced businesses to seek different management strategies. Based on the idea that the changes that occur will leave permanent marks in many ways, it is expected that all functions of businesses will be digitalized due to the digital transformation required by the post-pandemic period defined as the "new normal". Business Administration departments and business education at universities play an important role in making students ready for this new era, and in making them become a part and even pioneers of this transformation after graduation. Accordingly, the curricula of the Business Departments where future manager candidates are trained should be revised and converted into new systems, in the process of adaptation to the digital society. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to determine the extent the courses are included for digitalization in the Business Administration departments' curricula which are traditionally a subdivision of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The curricula, and the core and elective courses of all Business Administration departments in Turkish universities that were active in 2020 were reviewed, and a descriptive research was conducted on the courses regarding their digitalization through the departmental websites. It was found out that although inclusion of digital transformation courses has begun in the Business Administration programs in Turkey, this inclusion has not been widespread. This study will contribute to the literature with the awareness it creates regarding the future of business education by taking into account the permanent effects of Covid-19.

Previously, all stereological estimation of particle number and sizes were based on models and notoriously gave biased results, were very inefficient to use and difficult to justify. For all references to old methods and a direct comparison with unbiased methods see recent reviews.The publication in 1984 of the DISECTOR, the first unbiased stereological probe for sampling and counting 3—D objects irrespective of their size and shape, signalled the new era in stereology — and give rise to a number of remarkably simple and efficient techniques based on its distinct property: It is the only known way to obtain an unbiased sample of 3-D objects (cells, organelles, etc). The principle is simple: within a 2-D unbiased frame count or sample only cells which are not hit by a parallel plane at a known, small distance h.The area of the frame and h must be known, which might sometimes in itself be a problem, albeit usually a small one. A more severe problem may arise because these constants are known at the scale of the fixed, embedded and sectioned tissue which is often shrunken considerably.

In the mid-nineteenth century Virchow revolutionized pathology by introduction of the concept of “cellular pathology”. Today, a century later, this term has increasing significance in health and disease. We now are in the beginning of a new era in pathology, one which might well be termed “organelle pathology” or “subcellular pathology”. The impact of lysosomal diseases on clinical medicine exemplifies this role of pathology of organelles in elucidation of disease today.Another aspect of cell organelles of prime importance is their pathologic alteration by drugs, toxins, hormones and malnutrition. The sensitivity of cell organelles to minute alterations in their environment offers an accurate evaluation of the site of action of drugs in the study of both function and toxicity. Examples of mitochondrial lesions include the effect of DDD on the adrenal cortex, riboflavin deficiency on liver cells, elevated blood ammonia on the neuron and some 8-aminoquinolines on myocardium.
