Although the implementation of e-auction events is not all that new, a current interest in understanding main issues involved in its implementation exists, especially in a business to business (B2B) environment. A clear will to classify and systematize the numerous variables directly or indirectly affecting e-auction suitability and final performance determination is evident also from previous conceptual literature contributions. Nevertheless a lack of empirical work in this field is evident. This work provides a contribution to the body of knowledge on critical factors impacting on e-Reverse Auctions (e-RA) performance in a B2B context. Based on an explorative factor analysis addressed to a panel of academic experts and practitioners, it aims at identifying the main factors affecting price and process performance in B2B e-RA.

Ship resistance is one of the main factors affecting the design of a ship. Catamaran boat is a ship with small wet surface area that able to reduce drag and improve ship power. Generally, a bulbous bow is implemented to reduce wave resistance because the bulbous shape is believed to attenuate the bow wave system. Additionally, the bulbous bow also tends to reduce viscous resistance. When the flow around the body is smooth, the total ship resistance can be reduced significantly if the optimum bulbous bow is obtained. In this study, the main purpose is to get the bulbous bow shape in catamaran boat which produces the smallest ship resistance by using computational fluid dynamic (CFD). Generating the variation of the bulbous bow shapes apply the one-to-one correspondence of the cross section parameter (ABT) and lateral parameter (ABL). The result of investigation shows that application of bulbous bow on catamaran boat can reduce about 11-13% of total resistance of ship.

This study presents primarily factors affecting interactive agencies in Iran. There is a kind of unwillingness among Iranian ad agencies to execute online ad campaign in compare to the global trend and the advantage of use of online ad makes it imperative to find the key factors affecting interactive agencies behavior. Accordingly, the body of literature was analyzed and eight critical factors including “Management participation,” “Organizational culture,” “Size of the organization,” “The level of organization technology,” “Communication infrastructure,” “Financial infrastructure,” “Technology infrastructure” and “Electronic readiness,” were extracted. The expert questionnaire was designed to validate the gathered factors. By analyzing 294 questionnaires, the type of management was found as key factor in adopting online ad campaign execution.

Purpose Sustained access to efficient electricity plays an essential role in improving living conditions of people and contributes to the economic development of the nation as a whole. Volta River Authority (VRA) mainly manages the generation plants (hydropower sources and thermal plants) alongside independent power producers (IPPs). Power generation in the country has been influenced by myriads of factors. Thus, the purpose of this study is to assess the key risk factors affecting renewable energy of IPPs set-up project in Ghana. Design/methodology/approach Quantitative approach was adopted for the study. Empirical investigation was carried out using the survey approach. The likelihood of occurrence of the risk and the degree of impact of same motivated the use of risk significance index to analyze the data and make deductions from the results. Findings From the study, three key risk factors have high level of severity, which include long and complex procedures for authorization of project activities, stability of the policy environment and ease of obtaining rights to land. These risks could be found in the business/strategic risks and policy/regulatory risks categories, respectively. A total of 25 key risk factors had moderate level of severity and 12 key risk factors have low level of severity on renewable energy IPP set up projects. Practical implications Top-ranked risk factors require maximum attention. The identified risks should be alleviated with strategies to reduce levels of severity by targeting either the likelihood of occurrence or the level of impact. This will serve as a catalyze to promoting renewable energy IPP set-up projects in Ghana. Originality/value Key contribution of the paper to the body of knowledge is demonstrated by the empirical evidence of the risks IPPs are likely to encounter in setting up renewable energy plants in Ghana. The distinctive attribute of this study is further demonstrated by the fact that it focused on the set-up stage, which is a critical stage in the renewable energy provision value chain.

<p class="Default">This research examines the mobile-government services adoption, by combining both UTAUT and GAM models with adding new constructs for explaining the key factors that affect on adoption of mobile-government services. As a result, the study identified the critical factors that influence users’ to adopt the system, and developed an integrated model as a powerful tool that assists in the adoption process of mobile-government applications. The novelty of this research will be an added value to the body of knowledge and its implications will be vital for researchers and decision/policy makers who are willing to make a change.</p>

Managing business relationships between the parties in construction supply chains (CSCs) is the essential element of construction supply chain management (CSCM). Therefore, in order to have success in the CSCM, the relationships between the parties should be noticed. This study aims to identify and discover important factors affecting supply chain relationships in construction. The study identified 12 key factors affecting the supply chain relationships in construction and ranked them according to their degrees of impact. The findings showed that “working relationship”, “top management support”, “trust”, “business attitude”, and “communication” are the five most influential factors. The study can be considered as valuable additional contribution to the body of knowledge relating to the CSCM. The findings could help practitioners to have an insight into the CSCM and obtain success in managing the CSCs.

In highway projects, major losses can occur when the estimated contract time is unrealistically longer or shorter than the actual time needed. This study presents a comprehensive review of the different contract time determination systems developed for various Departments of Transportation (DOTs) in the U.S.A. Also, the study addresses some of the main factors that can affect the activities’ production rates. The study contributes to the body of knowledge by updating the literature about the contract time determination systems used by different DOTs. A survey was designed and sent to the 52 DOTs in the U.S.A. to verify and collect additional information. The results provide further insights into the contract time determination methods used by DOTs and other factors that might affect the production rates in highway construction. This paper should prove useful for future studies focusing on the contract time determination for highway projects.

Considering employees are the ultimate valuable assets, most companies nowadays give lots of effort and capitalise vital resources to preserve them. The turnover of those employees will affect the achievement of the organisations’ goals as well as the maintaining of the competitive advantage. Therefore, it is imperative to call for more studies to understand the factors affecting this phenomenon in different settings and contexts of research, particularly in the non-western perspectives such as Malaysia who is facing big challenges toward the employees’ turnover in many sectors. Therefore, the drive of this paper is to examine the relationship between organisational justice (OJ), organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) (benefiting the individual OCB-I and benefiting the organisation OCB-O) and turnover intention (TI). Consequently, this study proposed framework to study the effect of organisational justice on turnover intention via the mediation role of organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB-I, OCB-O). Also, the direct impact between the variables has been discussed. Hence this paper is expected to fill the research gap and contribute to the body of knowledge in this area of research.

The paper's purpose is to add to the body of knowledge on marketing communication effectiveness by developing and testing the model of marketing communication effectiveness in the business-to-business markets. Based on past research from the marketing communications and business-to-business marketing literature, the model is tested to examine the impact of antecedent variables on marketing communications effectiveness and organizational performance. Our analysis indicates that a central concept of marketing communication effectiveness is influenced by different variables. We also confirmed a positive impact of marketing communication effectiveness on organizational performance in case of Slovenian companies.

While the increasing rate of urbanisation is a critical concern for socio-environmental reasons, this also leads to more extraction of natural raw materials and the generation of significant quantities of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. Although the use of recycled C&D waste products is technically feasible and regulated, and positive application examples are evident, it is still unclear how to engage key stakeholders to leverage this opportunity in construction projects. Previous research has shown that there is some level of resistance to the reuse of recycled C&D waste products in construction projects. This highlights a critical need to identify the roles of key stakeholders and the barriers they face when using recycled C&D materials. This paper therefore investigates the type of stakeholders influencing the use of recycled C&D waste products and the main factors affecting stakeholders’ decisions to use recycled C&D waste products through a systematic literature review. The authors present an emergent enablers and barriers for recycled C&D waste products model and provide commentary on how stakeholders’ perceptions, decision and behaviour influence the use of recycled C&D waste products. The authors also contribute to the body of knowledge with insights into the factors that various stakeholders believe influence the market for recycled C&D waste products and provides a reference point for authorities to consider these behavioural insights for policy reform.

AbstractThe competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) is vital for the European economy. Also, manufacturing is often the core competence of SMEs. Adopting lean philosophy is a viable and popular approach for developing production and enabling continuous improvement. Despite the increased interest in empirical lean research, the body of knowledge about lean manufacturing development in SMEs is currently insufficient. This paper describes a study of a lean development project in a Finnish-based manufacturing SME. A current state analysis and development proposals are presented. The project applies a framework that other SMEs can utilize in identifying their problem areas and creating development proposals for their production activities. The results of the study contribute to the existing body of knowledge in lean manufacturing. In addition, managers in SMEs can utilize the study results as a reference when designing production development projects.
