Collaborative Planning of ERP Implementation

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is the process of optimizing the performance of enterprise business processes through the utilization of integrated IT-based solutions. Such systems are mostly based on best practices gained through years of software analysis, design and deployment in the competitive markets. Planning for enterprise-wide system implementation requires all of the stakeholders to integrate views on considering strategic approaches toward a unified vision on how to develop and improve the collaborative ERP implementation planning process. This paper develops a framework which critically evaluates the final implementation plan based on considerations taken in design science methodology. Using the guidelines provided in this methodology, managers gain the capability of evaluating the overall artifact of planning in the total value system, and also gain the ability to measure the progress of ERP implementation plan based on the provided indicators.

In spite of the importance of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in any organization, there are still many fears of not getting the return on investment from implementing it. In addition, there are many ERP systems implemented in different organizations that claim they did not get enough benefit from these systems. For this reason, this paper is intended to study the impact of ERP implementation approaches (Agile, Big Bang, and Hybrid) on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes. This paper adapts the quantitative research approach by using the survey strategy, which is conducted by a questionnaire collected from 91 respondents working in fifteen companies that implement Oracle ERP in Jordan. The researcher uses the SPSS as an analysis technique to test all hypotheses. The findings of the study show that the two ERP Implementation approaches (Big Bang and Hybrid) have a significant impact on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes. On the other hand, the study shows that Agile (ERP) implementation approach has no significant impact on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are commercial software packages that embody and integrate any number of business processes involved in the operation of an organization including but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain, sales, financial, human resources, budgeting, and customer service activity. These modules are developed for the purpose of business organization and there has to be a unique ERP system to support the higher education. There are many higher educational institutions that have implemented ERP system. The review of the study presents that there are very few study which has examined the ERP implementation success factor. The previous studies also indicate that there are unaddressed question which may lead to serious risk. This study may help the institution, and vendor to increase the user effectiveness and success ERP implementation in Higher Education institution.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) relates primarily to software for business management, which consists of many modules that are essential for the growth and survival of various types of companies and organisations. By allowing faster supply chain management, the incorporation of similar business applications in an organisation will bring considerable advantages to the organisation. In order to increase business efficiency, ERP implementation helps businesses to adapt and customise information flows and automate business processes. The implementation of the system was reviewed with sufficient literature to substantially support the significance of arithmetic and logical principles and basic programming errors, including programme typographical errors, syntax error detection, and programme output process errors. Furthermore, the declaration of variables, the significance of modularisation and the need to support accessories, the accessibility of library files and the importance of frameworks have been discussed. In order to recognise framework implementation deficiencies in the ERP development process, improvement of coding formatting and significance of coding syntax were also critically checked with appropriate literature. This chapter commences with a brief description of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), followed by a discussion of the benefits provided by an integrated ERP system. Next, the chapter describes several critical issues that managers must consider before making the final decision to integrate all the business functions in the organization. These issues are categorized under fundamental issues, people, the organizational change process, and the different approaches to implementing ERP. A well-defined plan is the first step to a successful ERP implementation. Therefore, the chapter concludes with a flow chart, depicting many of the activities that must be included in an ERP implementation plan.

<p>Companies adopt and implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline their business processes, enhance functionality and reporting and ultimately to increase efficiency. ERP implementations are highly complex projects. This paper analyses those factors that need to be considered and understood for a successful implementation. ERP implementation chances of success can be increased by ensuring the ERP project receives a high level of executive and project sponsor support. Top and middle management commitment and leadership and good, clear communication should also be paid particular attention to by any organisation gearing up to undertake such an initiative.</p>

Implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems often aims to improve the companies’ processes in order to gain competitive advantage on the market. Especially, small companies need to integrate systems with suppliers and customers; hence, ERP systems often become a requirement. ERP system implementation processes in small enterprises contain several risk factors. Research has concluded that ERP implementation projects fail to a relatively high degree. Small companies are found to be constrained by limited resources, limited IS (information systems) knowledge and lack of IT expertise in ERP implementation. There are relatively few empirical research studies on implementing ERP systems in small enterprises and there is a large gap in research that could guide managers of small companies. This paper is based on a case study of three small enterprises that are planning to implement ERP systems that support their business processes. The aim of the paper is to identify the risk factors that can arise when implementing ERP systems in small enterprises. The analysis shows that an ERP system is a good solution to avoid using many different, separate systems in parallel. However, the study shows that it is challenging to integrate all systems used by suppliers and customers. An ERP system can include all information in one system and all information can also easily be accessed within that system. However, the implementation could be a demanding process as it requires engagement from all involved people, especially the managers of the companies.

Abstract The world boundaries are broken with the advancement of technology and the emergence of digitized industries where economies are connected via the cloud. As a result, effective management of information internally and externally is needed to cope with the quick changes in markets. For a long time, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have been used to streamline company processes data, and hierarchy. ERP’s are capable of managing big data, integrating business processes and providing effective communication channels within the entire organization. ERP’s provide many benefits to businesses if implemented right. However, an alarming 70% of ERP implementations fail. The failure can very well bankrupt the organization and at the same time affect the vendors very negatively. The aim of this paper is to discuss the critical success factors in ERP implementations from the employees, management, consultants and vendors perspectives. Prior research has identified critical success factors for ERP implementations but none classified them according to the above perspectives (employees, management, consultants and vendors). Surveys were conducted with 60 ERP project participants including senior managers, employees and vendors. A regression analysis was made to investigate the relation between the success of ERP implementations (dependent variable) and the contributions of employees, management, consultants and vendors (independent variables). The study shows that there exists a positive relation between successful ERP implementation and the following: management support, employees’ motivation, training, management, vision, and professional consultants. Add to that, the study aids managers and ERP participants to identify the major success factors that must be implemented for the objective of having successful ERP deployment.

<p class="Abstract"><strong>Mc Cake is one of the business people in the food industry. Which was founded in Bekasi, West Java. Mc Cake has constraints and problems including the lack of a system that streamlines the time and division of job desk at the company. It also shows that the sales order business process has not been integrated with the sales system at Mc Cake. The process that is currently running from the sale transaction is still done manually.</strong></p><strong>                In this problem, the solution considered to be able to handle the problem is by applying the concept of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) using the Odoo application with a point of sales module, because the advantages that can be obtained are speed, accuracy, and relatively lower costs compared to other methods. . Odoo is a modular application which means it consists of separate modules but can be integrated with each other. The modules in Odoo include sales, purchase, accounting, point of sale, CRM and marketing. In addition, the business processes carried out on each Odoo module are best practices for the open source class and in general Odoo covers the business processes of MSME trading companies such as Mc Cake.</strong>
