The Relationship between Information Technology Adoption and Job Satisfaction in the Jordanian Construction Industry

Despite the popularity of Information Technology and job satisfaction research, little empirical evidence exists of the relationship between IT adoption and job satisfaction within the Jordanian construction industry. This research fills these knowledge gaps by exploring the relationship between IT adoption and job satisfaction from the perspective of construction companies, contractors, consultants, and architectural and engineering firms in Jordan. Measures were developed using MSQ and IT Barometer surveys. Three hundred questionnaires were distributed to investigate this relationship among different companies from the Jordanian construction sector. Descriptive statistics were obtained and hypotheses were tested using multiple regression analysis. Results show that more investment in technology would increase employee job satisfaction regarding intrinsic, extrinsic, and general perspectives.

Proper employee compensation will keep them motivated to improve their performance in a vigorous manner so that the results achieved from the job can give their employees satisfaction. This study aims to determine the effect of financial compensation on employee job satisfaction on the production in PT. Etowa Packaging Indonesia, to determine the effect of non-financial compensation on employee job satisfaction on the production at PT. Etowa Packaging Indonesia, and to know the influence of financial compensation and non-financial compensation simultaneously to job satisfaction of production employee at PT. Etowa Packaging Indonesia. The research design conducted by researchers is explanatory research. With a population of 253 respondents taken a sample of 171 respondents. The instrument of data collection used is observation and spreading of questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results stated that financial compensation and non financial compensation after tested partially or together significantly influence the employee job satisfaction in the production at PT. Etowa Packaging Indonesia.

AbstractAlthough success is a word that encapsulates a general and wide idea and it is challenging to provide a definite and a consensus definition from all individuals concerned, for many years, there has been a growing interest in identification of the success factors and the relationship with project success. In this research, the main objective investigates the relationship between top management, project mission, personnel, communication and Schedule/Plan and project success in construction industry in Malaysia. A survey was conducted among Managers and Employees of construction companies registered with Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia and the correlation and regression analysis was carried out in order to test the hypotheses of the study. Key areas are now offered that practitioners and academics should further explore to contribute to the knowledge body on project success and to explore in more details which factors affect project success in construction industry in Malaysia.

Despite the advances and the developments of technology, research investigating the impact of Information Technology adoption on the quality of construction projects has been limited. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the impact of Information Technology adoption on the quality of Jordanian construction projects. Measures and analysis procedures were survey based. Ninety questionnaires were distributed among different construction companies to study the impact of (IT) adoption on the quality of the project during the four phases of construction. Descriptive statistics were obtained and regression test was applied. Results indicate that more investment and encouragement of the use of (IT) in the construction sector essentially increase the quality of the project in the construction throughout its four phases (Planning, Design, Construction and Finishing). The main limitation of this study is that it is conducted with a convenience sample. The academic and managerial implications of the findings are discussed and further research directions are offered.

This study was to investigate the role of positive affect on the effect of person-organization fit and employment. This study used a quantitative approach. 135 employees who worked in PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Tarahan, Bandar Lampung was chosen as the respondent in this study. Measurement of the person-organization fit variable was measured by an instrument developed by Kristof (1996). Job satisfaction was measured using the Michigan organization assessment questionnaire (Bowling & Hammond, 2008). Positive affect was measured using the positive & negative affect schedule (PANAS) developed by Watson et al (1988). Data processing and hypothesis testing used moderating regression analysis. The findings in this investigation are: first, P-O fit had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction, second, positive affect did not moderate the relationship between P-O fit and job satisfaction. This was indicated by the interaction variables that are smaller than the significance value.

This study aims to elaborate the role of job satisfaction in committing employees with organization. This study tested the effect of both components of job satisfaction (intrinsic and extrinsic) of on organizational commitment in banking sector of Pakistan. Data was gathered from employees working in banks of Pakistan. The study has uses descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) to identify sample characteristics and inferential statistics (multiple linear regression) to find out the relationship between variables. Results showed the significant and positive effect of both components of job satisfaction on organizational commitment. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of supportive and directive leadership style on employee job satisfaction in commercial banks in Kenya. The study adopted positivism research philosophy to guide the study and limited itself to descriptive correlational research design to analyze and provide responses to the research questions. The research design was preferred because it allows description and comparison of characteristics of populations based on data collected from samples through questionnaires. The target population of the study was 15,030 employees in all the 43 commercial banks licensed to operate in Kenya as of June 2018. Using stratified sampling technique, the study drew a sample size of 386 employees reporting to middle level managers. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, which included factor analysis, correlational analysis, chi-square, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and regression analysis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 and Windows’ Microsoft excel programs.From the findings of multiple linear regression analysis, it was established that directive leadership style had a positive and significant relationship with employee job satisfaction, R2 = .228, F(1, 362) = 53.396, p < .05; β = .454, p < .05. The results from multiple linear regression analysis also showed that supportive leadership style positively and significantly predicted employee job satisfaction, R2 = .603, F(1, 366) = 278.269, p < .05; β = .716, p < .05. In addition, the study tested the moderating influence of environmental contingency factors and was confirmed that environmental contingency factors significantly moderated the relationship between path-goal leadership style and employee job satisfaction, R2=0.090, F(5,364) = 35.04, p < .05; β= 0.229, p<.05.The study makes a contribution to the literature of the influence of directive and supportive leadership styles from Kenyan commercial banks’ perspective and adds an impetus to employees, management and policymakers to address issues that are impeding employee job satisfaction. The future researchers should include all bank employees in their study to determine the influence of directive leadership style and supportive leadership style on employee job satisfaction.
