Despite the importance of knowledge integration in construction project management, it rarely happens in reality. This chapter describes two case studies involving knowledge management of a public construction project for two universities in Finland. There were many different stakeholders involved in the projects. Although much effort has been put into the project during the initial stages, the projects’ starts were delayed. This chapter gives underlying reasons for the delays followed by proposing an approach where co-creation of value for knowledge integration can be used to overcome the problems with the conflicting interests of the stakeholders. The other project introduces a small project where the initiator is a facility owner. This study shows how the selection of the stakeholders for decision-making was a challenge.

The growth of air passengers  impacted not only on the addition of fleets number and flight routes, but also on the provision of airports and facilities. Airport facilities are not only about terminal space and air-side facilities, but also related to the provision of intermodal facilities to and from the airport. In Indonesia, some airports have increased number of passengers, and some of them decided to move the old airport to a new location. Adi Sutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta plans to move its location to Kulonprogo district which is still in Yogyakarta province. The existence of a new location in Kulonprogo will affect on the selection of transportation modes. On the other hand, the mode choice goes to the new airport are not just overcome, but there are some characteristics factor from the passengers which are influence it . The passengers characteristics are the distance, kind of  jobs, the monthly income, private vehicle ownership, the age level and the genders of passengers.  The analytical techniques in this study are quantitative descriptive with clustering based on certain criteria using cross tabulation techniques. This study was carried out by giving a questionnaire on air passengers in Adi Sutjipto airport to gain an understanding of their characteristics and their selection of modes transport used when the new airport will be operate. The result of the research is the existence of relationship between characteristics of air passengers with the selection of modes transport to the new airport. Preference for the modes selection to new airport can be taken into consideration in decision-making related to the development of inter-mode facilities to the new airport in Kulonprogo in the future.

The article briefly discusses the content and terms of construction project management. It identifies the main problems of construction management and discusses ways to solve those using multi-criteria methods. Well-performed management is one of the critical factors which leads to the success of any significant sustainable project. Construction project management consists of setting goals and defining user requirements, project constraints, and resources needed. This paper aims to create a practically useful model. The paper presents a comprehensive set of criteria, which led to the creation of a decision-making model for construction management, which was applied to a Turkish case study. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and the Expert Choice computer program were used for calculations.

Abstract Carrying out a usability test is a demanding process per se. Mobile tests raise this claim because they are subject to real usage conditions and therefore unforeseeable factors. On the one hand there are the technical factors like tools, software and laboratory equipment, but on the other hand there are the human beeings with their knowledge and decision-making. They are taking the selection of tools, methods and data, and they decide in every situation of the process of testing. Using a mobile eye-tracking test, the authors will explain where the sources for interpretation are and when misinterpretation become an error. Technology philosophical considerations on interpretation and hermeneutics have to support the recognition of the potential of interpretation. As a result, misinterpretation can be minimized.

Database fuzzy Tahani and SAW is the other, a method that can be used in the decision making process. In accordance with the regulation which provides scholarships instance transform and obtaining scholarships, the necessary criteria to determine who will be selected to receive a scholarship. The scholarship division. To assist in the determination of a person recommend the eligible then takes a decision support system. This study discusses the selection of scholarship acceptance by Fuzzy Database Tahani and SAW. This research can help leadership courses Informatics and other study program-UNP Kediri to determine recipients. This research aims to integrate Fuzzy and SAW with the rules and criteria set by the university. The system being designed to be able to determine rankings to recommendation recipients. Research using fuzzy method is to determine the value of the input to the SAW as the basis of input values. The results obtained in this study in the form of ranking and then make a recommendation to the receiving scholarships

Abstract. The construction industry is exposed to high risks, which cannot be ignored in case of large investments. The choice of a reliable investment and construction project is important for the success of the investor. A reliable choice of investment and construction project requires taking into account many uncertainties for decision-making. The investor has to be aware of the risks related to the implementation of investment and construction projects, as well as the level of involvement of all the uncertainties in the overall risk of investing in a particular project. These factors may be related to the economic environment, the public policy, mood of the social environment, the market, etc. Accordingly, factor-based decision-making is a vital process that should be considered when alternative investment and construction projects are being assessed. As the construction industry is characterized by long investment cycles, it is a dynamic, complex system with uncertain, incomplete data, as a consequence of a fundamental practical problem when applying investment-selection models construction projects are to determine the distribution of uncertainties to calculate the reliability of the projects. More recently, most approaches to pre-selection investment and construction projects have been presented using linguistic estimates instead of numerical values. This article presents a multi-criteria decision-making methodology for analysis and selection of the most reliable investment and construction project under the conditions of risk and uncertainty. This approach is based on the theory of fuzzy sets, which has the advantage of using linguistic estimates and precise for qualitative and quantitative assessments respectively.

In construction project management, the contractor plays a primary role. Selection of the contractor is a matter of concern for clients as this is a key player who ensures better performance of a project. This paper structurally investigates the literature from credible databases and renowned journals from 2000 to 2018 in matters related to contractor selection. This investigation sets to accomplish three objectives. Firstly, it includes the identification of criteria and sub-criteria and their organization into a proper classification. Secondly, it highlights the types of decision-making techniques applied in articles published on contractor selection. The third objective covers a detailed investigation of current saturation and gaps of this area of study around the globe. The findings of the research are critically discussed in the light of the literature. As very limited work has been carried out in the area of contractor selection, this paper fills this gap in knowledge in the context of a structured review.
