A digital transformation is underway. One that is redefining the essence of human interaction and with ideas, share unused resources and create new on-demand services that are customisable and unique. These are only a few examples of real productivity that when layered on the Internet creates an abundance of resources and opportunity. This people-powered abundance is called the crowd economy. It is the way the society lives, works and plays. There is a new paradigm shift that challenges traditional notions of the “norm” while expanding possibilities. The hallmark of the digital age is social connections that are boosted by the web and mobile networks. These technological advances have taken collaboration and cooperation to a level never seen before. Social connections through the web have gone beyond social media likes and shares and has evolved into social productivity - a phenomenon that arises when networked crowds collaborate to solve problems, raise funds, and come up with innovative ideas and solutions.

In accordance with the technological advances of web-based information delivery via the internet has more value, because the information can be delivered easily, quickly,  spacious and interactive. Because this way, information is simply inserted into the web and within seconds the information can be accessed globally.  Submission of this information has not been used in Ngebruk Islamic Junior High School, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency. Submission of the information in these schools still use manual way, such as by mail, bulletin boards, or orally. Surely this way less effective and efficient, since it requires a lot of expenses such as the purchase of paper, printing machine and maintenance, ink, and its scope was limited to the scope of the school.To reduce the above problems, the delivery of information in this school need to use web media created with the PHP programming language and MySQL. PHP is a programming language that is used to allow users to process information on the web, while MySQL is the software used to store the information on the web. Once the web is run online, the school entered information to the web, can be accessed via intenet by anyone without the limited space and time

The Semantic Web concept is an extension of the web obtained by adding semantics to the current data representation format. It is considered a network of correlating meanings. It is the result of a combination of web-based conceptions and technologies and knowledge representation. Since the internet has gone through many changes and steps in its web versions 1.0, 2.0, and Web 3.0, this last call of smart web, the concept of Web 3.0, is to be associated with the Semantic Web, since technological advances have allowed the internet to be present beyond the devices that were made exactly with the intention of receiving the connection, not limited to computers or smartphones since it has the concept of reading, writing, and execution off-screen, performed by machines. Therefore, this chapter aims to provide an updated review of Semantic Web and its technologies showing its technological origins and approaching its success relationship with a concise bibliographic background, categorizing and synthesizing the potential of technologies.

There are few publications dealing with plagiarism prior to the introduction of the Web, yet in the decade since its introduction there has been a rise in the number of publications dealing with the topic. This literature suggests that plagiarism is occurring on a more frequent basis since the introduction of the Web into classrooms. Students now have access to vast amounts of information through the Internet. The ease of accessibility and low access price of the information does little to establish a sense of information value in the mind of students. This phenomenon is calling into question established academic practices and the credibility of some courses. While online classes often receive much attention in this regard, the perceived rise in plagiarism is not restricted to this new paradigm. Indeed, the occurrence of plagiarism is no less evident in the traditional classroom. While the Internet may provide the means of plagiarism for many, it is not the cause. The Internet is part of a technological evolution we are experiencing in teaching and society in general. This evolution is forcing us to adopt many new paradigms and thus consequently change old teaching habits. With easy access to the Internet, education is operating in a new landscape, and assessment procedures need to adapt to the landscape in order to survive. In this paper we present a case study of a number of effective changes made to adapt assessment procedures to the new landscape at Victoria University, Australia. In particular, two very different approaches utilized in two different courses are documented. Both cases highlight how careful consideration of the design and assessment techniques used in learning activities can reduce or even remove the problem of plagiarism.

You have come a long way in your journey; the end is near, and it is time to take your Web portfolio site and present it to the world. This stage is a critical one. If the Web portfolio does not make it to the Internet, it loses its portability and fails as an on-demand communication. In this chapter we will explore the steps needed in purchasing a domain name for your Web portfolio, securing a host and Web space, and uploading site files using FTP. We will also cover how to set up a site in Dreamweaver so the uploading and future edits are easy. Finally in the chapter, we discuss usability heuristics and how they can be used to measure the effectiveness of the Web portfolio. We review some of the usability theories provided by Nielsen and Molich and adapt them to fit a model for the Web portfolio.

During the last few years, it has become abundantly clear that the technological advances in information technology have led to the dramatic proliferation of information on the web and this, in turn, has led to the appearance of new words in the Internet. Due to the difficulty of reaching the meanings of these new terms, which play an essential role in retrieving the desired information, it becomes necessary to give more importance to the sites and topics where these new words appear, or rather, to give value to the words that occur frequently with them. For this purpose, in this paper, the authors propose a new robust correlation measure that assesses the relatedness of words for pseudo-relevance feedback. It is based on the co-occurrence and closeness of terms, and aims to select the appropriate words that best capture the user information need. Extensive experiments have been conducted on the OHSUMED test collection and the results show that the proposed approach achieves a considerable performance improvement over the baseline.

Since the mid-1990s, there have been many claims that the Web has become the new paradigm for teaching. However, most academics do not use the Web as a replacement for teaching, but to provide extra benefits for their students. There is a strong parallel between this use of the Internet for teaching, and the use of IT in business for providing added-value products or administrative efficiencies. In this chapter, the similarities between the use of IT in business and education are discussed, and the categorization of aspects of Web use in education using standard business categories relating to savings and quality are explored. The results are obtained from a survey of academics conducted internationally using the Web, and it surveys perceptions of benefits gained from supplementing teaching with Web-based services. The results revealed similar usage levels of Administrative and Educational Features to aid tertiary education on the Internet. The administrative uses showed slightly more benefits for the institution than for students and vice-versa for educational uses. In both types of uses, their adoption seemed to be based upon how difficult the feature was to set up as well as the added-value benefits it provided. An analysis of the correlation of the benefits identified for institution and students showed a correspondence between most of the uses, with a few interesting differences.

Recently, HTTP streaming has become very popular for delivering videos over the Internet. For adaptivity, a provider should generate multiple versions of a video as well as the related metadata. Various adaptation methods have been proposed to support a streaming client in coping with strong bandwidth variations. However, most of existing methods target at constant bitrate (CBR) videos only. In this paper, we present a new method for quality adaptation in on-demand streaming of variable bitrate (VBR) videos. To cope with strong variations of VBR bitrate, we use a local average bitrate as the representative bitrate of a version. A buffer-based algorithm is then proposed to conservatively adapt video quality. Through experiments in the mobile streaming context, we show that our method can provide quality stability as well as buffer stability even under very strong variations of bandwidth and video bitrates.

Use of the Internet continues to increase, and new technology continues to provide more and better communication options.  As more and more students choose to enroll in Internet courses (e-courses), technological advances offer various ways to control academic dishonesty.  A questionnaire was developed and distributed to chairpersons of accounting departments to obtain their views about the use of several technological enhancements that could serve as controls in e-courses.  Such controls would require that some of these newer physical enhancements be on students’ computers when they register for an e-course.  Respondents strongly favored requiring students to provide a digital photo ID and audio capabilities when registering for an e-course.  Other potential controls were not supported.  Those surveyed also tended to believe that students should use a web cam when completing examinations on-line and that faculty should compare the photo ID with the web cam image.  In other settings, they felt that such a comparison was unnecessary.  Overall, the accounting department heads surveyed endorsed requiring the student who enrolls in an e-course to obtain some existing technology, and they expect the student to be prepared to spend more than $100 to obtain the technology.
