Reluctance to accept vaccination against COVID-19 poses a significant public health risk and is known to be a multi-determined phenomenon. We conducted online focus groups, or “bulletin boards,” in order to probe the nature of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and its implications. Participants were 94 individuals from three distinct U.S. geographical areas and represented a range of demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. Six themes emerged from the 3 day-long bulletin boards: the most trusted source of health information sought is the personal physician; information about health is nevertheless obtained from a wide variety of sources; stories about adverse side effects are especially “sticky”; government health institutions like CDC and FDA are not trusted; most respondents engaged in individualistic reasoning; and there is a wide spectrum of attitudes toward vaccination.

A migraine is more than head pain, and chronic migraine can dramatically impact a person and those around her/him/them. To better understand those effects it is important to study the experiences of persons with migraine and their caregivers, family, friends, and health and mental health providers. When they collaborate, stakeholders may improve outcomes for persons with chronic migraine. One type of stakeholder cooperation is Health Co-Inquiry, involving a person-centered approach, activation of persons toward collaboration and improved health, evidence-based practice, and integrated care. The current study investigated Health Co-Inquiry at online forums, blogs, and bulletin boards where people came together to discuss migraine. A “Bifurcated Method” was used to conduct inductive, thematic analyses, quantitize themes, and cross-check themes using a robot program, which crawled the Internet to gather data about stakeholder sites and posts related to migraine. Key themes in the online narratives of migraine stakeholders included seeking and providing advice, help, and information. In addition, giving personal stories and testimonials, selling computer applications and products, and providing misinformation were frequent. Differences in the types of posts by various stakeholder groups were identified and may inform researchers about their varied perspectives and goals. Remarkably, migraine is still migraine–before a pandemic and during it. As such, migraineur concerns remained stable across thematic analyses of blog and forum posts before and during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the efforts of the Regional Government of Cianjur Regency in building awareness of visitors to the Cianjur square park to apply the culture of Cleanliness, Beauty, Security, Order, and Comfort (K5). This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation as well as sampling techniques using snowball sampling. Technical data analysis with Miles and Huberman Model. The theory used by the researcher is Kurt Lewin in Saefullah and Rusdiana (2016: 4). The results of this study indicate that in an effort to build visitor awareness for K5 culture, the Regional Government has carried out: (1) Cleanliness, namely by providing trash cans in various existing spots, (2) Beauty, which has focused on synthetic grass as anattraction for visitors to visit and spot others as support, (3) Security, which has provided a guard post and assigned the PP SATPOL to go around every spot in Cianjur Square Park, (4) Orderliness, the rules that have been provided through signposts / bulletin boards that have some visitors already know from social media, (5) Convenience, has increased tree planting specifically for the artificial turf area at this time. Thus it can be seen that the local government's efforts in building visitor awareness are adequate, although there are still many visitors who are still not aware of the importance of implementing K5 in Cianjur square park, so a process of socialization and action is needed for those who ignore these K5 aspects.

This article discusses the role of ‘space’ in Indian and Pakistani public sector universities in fostering national pride. University spaces have been highlighted, in both countries, for being used by the governments as agents fostering the national narrative yet there is limited research on how these spaces contribute to the visual culture of educational institutions and in the inculcation of nationalistic values. This article adds to the conversations regarding the fostering of national belonging and pride in universities by exploring space as a constitutive element of the visual culture of the higher education environment in India and Pakistan. In both countries, the physical spaces of public universities have become platforms for channelling student voices. This research uses two state-funded universities, from Delhi (in India) and Lahore (in Pakistan), and Lefebvre’s conception of space to conduct a discourse analysis of bulletin boards, graffiti, statues, sculptures, and any other imagery found online pertaining to the campuses and analyse how it is a ‘conceived’ and ‘perceived’ aspect of the visual culture of the universities. It adds to current scholarly conversations on national pride and consciousness in India and Pakistan by showing how university spaces can potentially play an active role in promoting the state’s narrative in students’ or educators’ everyday educational experiences.

Purpose: The rapid technological changes in education today have become paramount towards meeting our educational demands for the 21st century. The emerging trend in the use of Information Communication Technology has helped in bringing down the traditional barriers of access to higher education leading to access of quality education and training. This has provided learners with opportunities for lifelong learning and meaningful participation in the world of work and society as productive citizens through distance learning. The general objective of the study was to conduct an evaluation of planning and management of distance education. Methodology: The paper used a desk study review methodology where relevant empirical literature was reviewed to identify main themes and to extract knowledge gaps. Findings: From the study findings, it is concluded that little difference was found in the community found in the web-based course in comparison with their traditional courses. With the special characteristics associated with distance education, special measures should be taken to see that communities are established. Choosing exercises or activities that are collaborative will increase the potential for developing a community of learners. In addition, frequent use of online discussion or bulletin boards will also assist with this endeavor. Professional development on how to build a community for traditional and web-based courses is needed. Recommendations: The study recommends that is a need for assessment of whether or not faculty are adequately prepared to teach at a distance, especially in light of the fact that faculty tend to teach in the same manner in which they were taught, is definitely warranted. A check list that would help identify the preparedness of the faculty member before they are responsible for distance student learning would help the students and program. Instructor training should be required before faculty are considered qualified to teach distance courses which necessitates the discovery of quality training programs. Support staff that is needed to assist faculty members when making the transition from a face-to-face to a virtual environment should be identified
