Bollywood is not only one of the biggest film producers in India but also one of the largest centers of film production in the world. Seat occupancy rate and pricing of each seat are important parameters that determines the revenue of a cinema business. The objective of the chapter is to enable theater managers to determine the prices at the time of booking according to the occupancy rate so that the revenue is improved based on preferred demand for the respective seats. A multi criteria analysis is applied with seat occupancy rate as dependent variable and other factors as independent variables like Show time, Poster Size, Day of week and Timing of Release. Further, a predictive analysis can be carried out to determine the occupancy rate for the upcoming movies. Based on the occupancy rate, the managers at theater can adopt variable pricing concept to improve the revenue. This work shows an integrated method to develop a seating plan based on occupancy rate to improve the revenue using EMSR-b heuristic with an illustrated example for a theater.

This article provides a brief outline of the historic background for the development of what resulted in the establishment of a unique municipal cinema institution in Norway.  Thereafter the article looks more closely at the recent changes leading to a new mixed cinema landscape with both a public municipally based cinema sector and a private international branch. Norwegian movie theatres, together with movie theatre chains in Scandinavia, have within a few years been included into the largest global movie theatre company in the world, the initially American company AMC, now owned by the Chinese Wanda group. The article also comments upon changes within the field of film production and distribution in Norway.

In an era of public consciousness about gendered inequalities in the world of work, as well as recent revelations of sexual harassment and abuse in theatre and film production, Beckett's Catastrophe (1982) bears striking resonances. This article will suggest that, through the figure of its Assistant, the play stages the gendered nature of the labour of making art, and, in her actions, shows the kind of complicit disgust familiar to many who work in the entertainment industry, especially women. In unpacking this idea, I conceptualise the distinction between the everyday and ‘the event’, as in, between modes of quotidian labour and the attention-grabbing moment of art, between the invisible foundations of representation and the spectacle of that representation. It is my thesis that this play stages exactly this tension and that deploying a discourse of maintenance art allows the play to be read in the context of the labour of theatre-making. Highlighting the Assistant's labour becomes a way of making visible the structures of authority that are invested in maintaining gender boundaries and showing how art is too often complicit in the maintenance of social hierarchies.

This epilogue underscores the fact that 'cinéma-monde' always came with a question mark: it was a hypothesis, a heuristic device, conjuring up a 'what would happen if' we looked at Francophone film production through a slightly different lens. Moving forward from this mapping of the possibilities of cinéma-monde while at the same time highlighting the persistence of the national, the essay proposes that one way to take ‘monde’ seriously is to situate Francophone film production within world history. An example taken is Chloé Leriche’s Avant les rues (2016, Canada), filmed in an Atikamekw community, which raises questions of colonialism, indigeneity, ecology and the cosmos. It suggests that connections can be formed in terms of parts of wholes, in other words of the worlds within, for example, Quebec or French national cinema.

In 2003 Norway introduced a new regulation that required at least 40 percent of each gender on company boards. Norway was the first country in the world to introduce such a law, but several countries have since proposed similar arrangements. Before the reform, opponents of the law in Norway claimed that the new women directors would not be allowed to participate fully in board decision-making. Instead, their role would only be window dressing. Based on a questionnaire sent to all directors in public limited companies in 2009, the article studies this allegation. Results show that women directors report less ability to influence board decision making than men directors. Moreover, women to a lesser extent feel they are part of the inner circle on boards where such phenomena is perceived to exist. These tendencies also hold when we control for many other independent variables such as board role, ownership interest, number of directorships, and occupation, among others. Hence, the quota regulated boards might show tendencies of gender hierarchies and resegregation.

This chapter identifies the key elements of Fight Club's transition from novel to film. Fight Club is in some ways a paradoxical film: both a product and a critique of big business. Fox and Regency, two big players in Hollywood film production, put 67 million dollars into Fight Club because the talent package was strong. They believed the film would do well — and despite a less-than-hoped-for initial box office run, they have been proved right. Emerging from the world of advertising and music videos, Fight Club's director David Fincher has now established himself as a modern-day auteur. The chapter then considers the performances of the film's cast, including Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter. It also comments on the marketing of the film. Fox did not know how to sell Fight Club and so seriously misjudged its marketing and release. Fincher's original and seditious concepts for the marketing were rejected for more conventional action-orientated fare, aimed at a male youth market. This backfired in the post-Columbine climate and failed to connect with the broader youth market, which has now found significance in the film and elevated it to cult status.
