Scaffolding the OEEU's Data-Driven Ecosystem to Analyze the Employability of Spanish Graduates

This chapter outlines the technological evolution experimented by the Observatory for University Employability and Employment's information system to become a data-driven technological ecosystem. This observatory collects data from more than 50 Spanish universities and their graduate students (bachelor's degree, master's degree) with the goal of measuring the factors that lead to students' employability and employment. The goals pursued by the observatory need a strong technological support to gather, process, and disseminate the related data. The system that supports these tasks has evolved from a standard (traditional) information system to a data-driven ecosystem, which provides remarkable benefits covering the observatory's requirements. The benefits, the foundations, and the way the data-driven ecosystem is built will be described throughout the chapter, as well as how the information obtained is exploited in order to provide insights about the employment and employability variables.

Aim/Purpose: Sharing ideas generated in a Business Intelligence (BI) Applications class to upgrade an Information System in to an Informing System. Background: Course Registration is the essential university’s business process in a university that follows a liberal-arts education model. Almost all categories of users are involved, including students, individual faculties and departments, and administration. A typical Information System, designed to support this process, allows departments to schedule selected courses for a particular time slot and location, and allows students to choose courses to study for the semester. Methodology: The course project is to design a BI application. Domain knowledge is essential for such projects and course registration was the natural choice for this class. The assignment includes (1) identifying the categories of stakeholders; (2) identifying the information needs of different categories; (3) identifying available information sources; (4) identifying how is possible to acquire the additional data; and (5) designing the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) process and interface scenarios in a way to inform clients. Contribution: Contributions are in two directions: (1) pedagogy - involving students in such a project motivates creativity, also enforcing students to think in cost-benefit framework may lead to creation of really effective and efficient solutions; (2) practice - implementation of some of the ideas could be with low cost, but with high impact. Findings: Exploring BI techniques may increase the informing value of existing Information Systems. Recommendations for Practitioners: Careful analysis of information needs and the way information is used, combined with deep domain knowledge and understanding the value provided by Data Mining techniques, is the way to initiate a process of transforming an Retrieval Information System to better inform clients. Recommendation for Researchers : Combining pedagogy with practice allows one to overcome routine thinking and may lead to effective solutions. This needs further structuring and research on outcomes. Impact on Society Transforming Information towards Informing Systems has a significant impact by allowing users to make rational data driven decisions in an efficient way. Future Research: The future of this project is implementation of developed ideas and assessment of the results. The sales process is the most important part of the product manufacturer or the company being ditributor. Conventional sales system by the way telephone or consumer come directly to know the available or not the product needed to make consumers should take the time to do that. Such conditions can also lead to consumer dissatisfaction especially if the desired item is unavailable. Dissatisfaction with customer service can affect the indication of declining sales turnover. For that, the company needs a website-based sales information system that can be accessed by consumers anytime and anywhere so that it can expand its marketing area, and can facilitate salespeople to conduct promotions to Community. This research produces the sales information system by implementing a sales Force Automation (SFA) method which is expected to maximize the sales and focus of services to customers.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the need to engender a positive attitude toward business analytics in order for firms to more effectively transform into data-driven businesses, and for business schools to better prepare future managers. Design/methodology/approach This paper develops and validates a measurement instrument that captures the attitude toward business statistics, the foundation of business analytics. A multi-stage approach is implemented and the validation is conducted with a sample of 311 students from a business school. Findings The instrument has strong psychometric properties. It is designed so that it can be easily extrapolated to professional contexts and extended to the entire domain of business analytics. Research limitations/implications As the advent of a data-driven business world will impact the way organizations function and the way individuals think, work, communicate and interact, it is crucial to engage a transdisciplinary dialogue among domains that have the expertise to help train and transform current and future professionals. Practical implications The contribution provides educators and organizations with a means to measure and monitor attitudes toward statistics, the most anxiogenic component of business analytics. This is a first step in monitoring and developing an analytics mindset in both managers and students. Originality/value By demonstrating how the advent of the data-driven business era is transforming the DNA and functioning of organizations, this paper highlights the key importance of changing managers’ and all employees’ (to a lesser extent) mindset and way of thinking.

Selain itu mobilitas yang tinggi dari satuan Palkostrad dan belum memaksimalkan dalam penggunaan media informasi ini dapat dilihat masih adanya keterlambatan dalam penyajian informasi data Alutsista bidang kendaraan satuan jajaran Kostrad. Guna mempermudah dalam pengolahan informasi data kendaraan di satuan jajaran Kostrad, diperlukan suatu sistem informasi berbasis web dengan struktur database yang terintegrasi dengan baik. Untuk mengatasi overlaping data dan ketepatan dalam penyajian informasi data Alutsista bidang kendaraan satuan jajaran Kostrad maka perlu dilakukan perancangan dan pembangunan sistem informasi data Alutsista bidang kendaraan disatuan jajaran Kostrad yang berbasis web. Terkait dat-data yang diperlukan pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui studi pustaka, wawancara dan pengumpulan dokumen. Hasil yang di peroleh dengan pengembangan sistem ini diharapkan dapat membantu memecahkan permasalahan yang ada pada penelitian ini.</em></p><p align="center"><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>The data processing of Kostrad unit vehicles carried out by Palkostrad units in the presentation of data information is still in the conventional form even though it has used computerized media in the form of word and excel, this is one of the causes of data overlapping. In addition, the high mobility of the Palkostrad unit and not yet maximizing the use of this information media can be seen that there is still a delay in the presentation of information on the defense equipment data of the Kostrad unit vehicles. In order to facilitate the processing of vehicle data information in the Kostrad ranks, a web-based information system is needed with a well-integrated database structure. To overcome the overlapping of data and the accuracy in the presentation of data information on vehicle units in the Kostrad line, it is necessary to design and construct a vehicle information system for vehicle systems in the web-based Kostrad line. Related data needed in this study were obtained through literature study, interviews and document collection. The results obtained by developing this system are expected to help solve the problems that exist in this study.</em></p>

Relevance of the material stated in article is caused by urgent needs of society in creation of administrative information systems, in particular Information system of planning of scientific researches in National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine on Internet basis (ІС "Planning"). Information and technological support of processes of planning of scientific researches which are carried out in scientific institutions of NAPS of Ukraine is the purpose of creation of this system. The parameters of the functional maintenance of the informative system are pointed in the article, technology of treatment of documents on planning of scientific researches, scheme of routes of working of separate documents, and proper diagrams of their business-processes, on the basis of which using programmatic facilities of Microsoft Sharepoint the functions of programming are automatized, is examined.

The Internet changed the way of learning; it promotes interactivity and autonomy. Through Web 2.0 many tools could be used to plan strategies to motivate students for autonomous learning. This paper presents an analysis of such strategies applied to an industrial engineering course. It discusses an application in an Organizational Productive Arrangement (OPA) course using web tools to promote autonomous learning using an active strategy methodology. Two tools were used: a blog to promote interaction and a wiki to motivate research and collaboration. An information system was used to support an active strategy methodology. A survey of 40 students was conducted; the data is presented and discussed.

Рассмотрены особенности проявления оценочной тревожности, конструктивных и деструктивных компонентов ответственности у обучающихся вуза физической культуры. Представлены результаты дисперсионного анализа, свидетельствующие о влиянии этапа обучения на проявление оценочной тревожности и ответственности. Проведён корреляционный анализ показателей обучающихся 1-го и 4-го курса бакалавриата и 2-го курса магистратуры разного пола для определения взаимосвязей между показателями тревожности и ответственности. The features of the manifestation of evaluative anxiety, constructive and destructive components of responsibility in students of the university of physical culture are considered. The results of the analysis of variance are presented, indicating the influence of the learning stage on the manifestation of evaluative anxiety and responsibility. A correlation analysis of the indicators of students of the 1st, 4th year of bachelor's degree and 2nd year of master's degree of different genders was carried out to determine the relationships between the indicators of anxiety and responsibility.
