With regard to the spread of self-presentations of individuals and small firms on the internet, this chapter inquires into the role of trust and trust-building techniques of freelance web-designers in spreading the application of high-technology to end-consumers. Engendering relationships of trust is a predominant necessity for the freelancers in a market lacking structural assurances, making that group an ideal object of study for trust-enhancing strategies in client interaction. Methodologically, it proposes a way to study the adaptation of entrepreneurs to the requirements of trust, enlarging the focus on dramaturgic action of the trust-taker in exchange situation to markets for cooperation, in which cooperative experiences are a major trust-building factor. The analysis suggests that in those markets dramaturgical action is not only directed at clients but also at the referral networks in which they are embedded in, having important repercussions for the negotiating power of freelancers.

The article discusses the problems of involving the innovative potential of enterprises of the military-industrial complex in the implementation of innovative projects for the non-defence high-technology production, as well as determining the role and place of the regional innovation infrastructure in their implementation. The aim of the study is to justify the role of a region in the implementation of innovative projects for the non-defence high-technology production, to determine features and formulate requirements for the development of the regional innovation infrastructure that provides support for these innovative projects based on the interaction of the regional innovation system enterprises with the military-industrial complex and infrastructure facilities at the national and international levels. As a result of the study, the authors highlighted the most important areas of interaction between the enterprises of the military-industrial complex and the region’s innovative infrastructure facilities (raising funds, promoting high-tech civilian products to national and international markets, etc.) and formulated the requirements for its formation. The results of the study can be used in managing the innovative development of the regions where high-tech enterprises of the militaryindustrial complex are located

The aim of the paper is to present innovative technologies that contribute to strengthening cybersecurity of critical infrastructure. It focuses on trends in the use of high-tech solutions for cybersecurity of critical infrastructure. They are analyzed the capabilities of the next-generation cybersecurity model, as well as the role of the simulation modelling and expert systems in the process of identifying and preventing cyber attacks. The main result of the study is the description of the overall sequence of steps to be completed in a model in order to a simulation study of the impact of a DoS – attack to it. The applied conributions are expressed in developing the algorithms in the form of block diagrams because of the comparative clarity and accessibility of this approach. Therefore, they are suitable for implementation in professional simulation environments. Тhe types of algorithms and their properties, as well as the symbolism of the geometric blocks used are explained in detail and supported by examples of author's empirical studies conducted in the selected simulation products

This article presents the analyses the role of M&A transactions in the development of operational capital groups from the perspective of high and low technology sectors. Two main research questions were asked: 1. what is the role of M&A in the development and competitiveness of operational capital groups; 2. is there specificity in the role of M&A transactions of operational capital groups in high and low technology sectors? The purpose of this article is to tentatively find, based on two case studies, the specific role of mergers and acquisitions in the development of operational capital groups in low and high technology sectors. In order to initially answer the questions asked, two case studies, one each from the high-tech and low-tech sectors, were conducted. Finally, it was recommended that a larger study be conducted on operational capital groups, which could confirm the validity of the preliminary answers to the research questions asked.

This chapter analyses the innovative capacity of small firms compared to medium and large firms in Brazilian industry. It presents the Schumpterian debate regarding the role of small and large firms as inductors of innovation, including a brief discussion about the barriers and opportunities for innovation faced by small businesses, particularly in developing countries. The empirical analysis is based on the Brazilian Innovation Survey, which is used to compare the innovative efforts undertaken by small, medium and large enterprises. Its main findings are that in Brazil, large companies predominate in the creation of new products and processes, while smaller perform more effort than those in innovations associated with processes modernization. However, from the observation of the industry sectorial structure, it identifies that in high-tech sectors, Brazilian small companies outperform large in efforts in R&D.

The increasing pressure of competition in a globalizing world forces the countries that aim to grow rapidly to strengthen their market share. This requires technological innovation, and its primary source is scientific knowledge. Hence, the main aim of this study is to investigate the determining role of the sectoral technology intensity on the impact of international technology spillovers channels on innovation performance. For the aim of the study, 900 observations that belong to 320 firms for the period of 2009–2016 are obtained by matching approximately 350.000 of the survey data of the Business Statistics, Research and Development. Activities and Innovation provided by TUİK. Findings estimated by the System Generalized Method of Moments (SGMM) indicate that technology absorptive capacity has a positive and significant effect on the innovation performance of the firms operating only in high-tech industries. Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) has a stronger effect on firms' innovation performance in low-technology-intensive sectors than in high-tech-intensive sectors. There is no significant difference between sectoral technology intensities in the effect of export activities on innovation performance of firms. On the other hand, technology transfer expenditures have a statistically slightly positive and significant effect only for firms operating in high-technology-intensive sectors. Consequently, the government should support high technology intensive sectors instead of traditional low technology intensive sectors in order to benefit more from the international technology diffusion channels in Turkish manufacturing industry. This strategy can lead to a long-term economic growth.

Junior and Senior High School is the period for what we called unstable of “Anak Baru Gede (ABG) ”. Application of high technology like internet, is the ordinary things for students of Junior and Senior High School in Yogyakarta, which is used for doing their homework. Nevertheless, high tech is usedfor looking friends through Facebook, Twitter, etc as well. Nowadays, ABG are always curious of the new things, that lead them to inappropriate research. Even more, lack of parents concern is impacted to immoral behavior. Besides, negative environment gives the fundamental factor to immoral behavior as well. Hence, it effected to mentally and morally degradation. The objective o f this research is for identifying the role of society to ABGs mischievousness in Yogyakarta. This research is used qualitative approach with case study 's methodology to obtain data and description related to ABG s mischievousness in Yogyakarta. Next, is using Logistic Regression analysis to analyze the connection. The result is Y=4. 7451.054 X equation. Hence, it concluded that increased one unit of society's role will decrease the degree of ABG s mischievousness by 1.054.

The world has come to the point that requires more agricultural production using less resource. Moreover, the previous important elements for agricultural growth such as water, land, and human resources no longer play the decisive roles in the agricultural development. Instead, the application of high technology is the “key solution” for countries that depend on the agricultural economy like Vietnam. In Vietnam, agriculture is a particular economic sector that uses the majority of natural and human resources of the country. In the context of the social, ecological and economic transformation, the development of high-tech agriculture is not only about economic efficiency but also the issues of sustainable environmental development. High technology will be the solution to this multi-objective problem. The paper focuses on assessing the necessity of high-tech agricultural development and analyzing the role of technology in high-tech agricultural development, especially in the context that contains many challenges and opportunities.

In recent years, business practice has shown an interest in virtuality and virtual organizations as one of the responses to global-organizational development and company restructuring. High-tech environments demand continued innovations. The rational, authoritarian, bureaucratic organizations characterizing industrial and production-oriented companies are being rapidly replaced by the new, boundaryless, flexible, and high-technology-driven environments. Entrepreneurs respond to global opportunities, find partners, and build cross-border communication networks to link corporate processes and create empowered workplaces. A distinctive feature of these processes is the reliance on free-floating cybertrust where each partner is involved in decision-making processes and in building capabilities in continuously changing international markets. This chapter reflects on how contemporary entrepreneurs benefit from the high technology, virtuality, and cyber-culture of the modern organization. The findings draw attention to the technology-driven opportunism within virtual media and the role of entrepreneur within human–computer interaction. The chapter seeks to demystify views about organizations as virtual domains.
