Education enhances knowledge base of the nation. It plays a vital role in development. Emerging global trends, new economic challenges and rapid growth of information technology has enlarged the focus on education making analyzing and assessing simultaneously several areas of performance essential and crucial. If Balance Score Card used by organizations to achieve excellence, is adopted in higher education by universities and higher educational institutions academic excellence could be attained. In addition, it can help them to utilize intangible assets more efficiently, ensure future growth and link long-term strategic planning to short-term, tactical actions. Adopting it would also provide a strong linkage between financial and operational measures, internal processes improvement and innovation activities. Thus, through in-depth literature review and grounded theory the aim of this paper is to give an overview of Balance Score Card, discuss its adoption in higher education by universities and higher education institutions.

Abstract: Human habits change because of the COVID-19 outbreak, this affects when humans enter the new normal phase. New normal is defined as a condition that is not normally done before, which is then used as a standard or new habits that must be done by humans for themselves or to socialize with others. This new habit also raises the pros and cons along with the impact arising with the new normal. Higher education institutions are the ones who feel the impact of implementing new normal. Lectures that have been conducted online / online will be re-done offline / face to face, while still applying the COVID-19 protocol such as wearing a mask, keeping a distance, wearing gloves, and not making physical contact such as shaking hands. The problem that arises is not only parents' anxiety about their children, but how higher education institutions regulate all available resources to meet new normal implementation standards. This study aims to determine acceptance of new normal conditions using the balance score card Perspective.

While the pressure of public accountability has placed increasing pressure on higher education institutions to provide information regarding critical outcomes, this chapter describes how knowledge management (KM) can be used by educational institutions to gain a more comprehensive, integrative, and reflexive understanding of the impact of information on their organizations. The practice of KM, initially derived from theory and practice in the business sector, has typically been used to address isolated data and information transfer, rather than actual systemwide change. However, higher education institutions should not simply appropriate KM strategies and practices as they have appeared in the business sector. Instead, higher education institutions should use KM to focus on long-term, organization-wide strategies.

Globalization, with its attendant competitiveness in almost all human endeavours, has brought in its wake a renewed surge for quality in higher education. The searchlights have been thrown on, not only on the traditional areas such as the quality of lecture rooms, Lecturers, Libraries and performance of students, but on such other things like the quality of academic leadership as the driving force that greases the clogged wheels of higher educational institutions towards attaining the visions and missions of most institutions.  The picture gradually emerging is one where the quality of academic leadership largely determines what will come on the academic agenda for pursuing relevance, access, affordability, equity, efficiency and economy in the 21st Century.  This work seeks to explore the management dimensions of pursuing excellence as a strategic objective through building partnerships with major stakeholders rather than the use of high – handedness. Besides observations, the study relied on literature review. The era of the visionary and motivational leadership appears to be the key for higher educational institutions which seek to stand up to competition in the global arena. The social and political ends of higher education call for not just exemplary leadership, but also human-centred results-oriented approaches to sustainable tertiary institutions of excellence.

Education plays an vital role in any country's development, improving the economy of that country, improving people's living standards, etc. In higher education, it is even more necessary as the higher education produces all the professionals. Each country is trying to develop such institutions that produce high-quality professionals in all fields. India is a developing country and is also focused on developing its people in terms of their living standards by providing more and more education through the establishment of educational institutions, especially higher education institutions. The number of higher education institutions in India has increased in last few years, as well as the enrollment in these institutions has increased very much.

Information and communication technology (ICT) has been an integral part of pedagogy in educational institutions in general and higher education in particular. My focus in this paper is to see how ICT plays a role in constructing knowledge and improving learning in the higher educational institutions. The arguments are based on the review of existing ICT related literature, and in- depth interviews with few ICT pedagogy and social constructivist related educationists. So, the method applied is qualitative. First, ICT plays a role of a means to an end in the sense that it carries messages with higher level of accuracy. Second, it makes the interactions among the target group ‘living’ and creates the environment for effective learning. Third, ICT links the performers (teachers and students) in the learning groups cognitively and affectively to transform the unit of learning among the learners. This means that ICT plays a vital role in the part of the learners in which they are liberated from their teachers’ dominance.

Purpose This study aims to explore an exemplar of the design and application of a systemic framework for higher education. The field of application is in the social sciences and the perspective long-term, covering three generations of faculty and many generations of students. Design/methodology/approach This study is exploratory. It contains a conceptual component and an empirical component with a long-term case study from a European university. Findings A cybersystemic approach to higher education has been shown, at the focal university, to be a powerful amplifier of individual and institutional capabilities, and it still has great potential. The crucial prerequisite is that the approach is virtuously designed and implemented. Originality/value A case study ranging over 50 years is presented. The respective university has been a role model for other educational institutions for many years. Its influence in the German-speaking countries, and more recently also internationally, has become significant.
