This research aims to determine the key antecedent factors in consumers’ adoption of and their intention to recommend smartwatch wearable technology. The proposed research model combines the current technology acceptance and innovation diffusion theories with perceived aesthetic and perceived privacy risk to explain individuals’ smartwatch adoption and subsequent recommendation to other people. Based on a sample of 299 completed individual online surveys, the research employed partial least squares (a variance-based analysis method) for the model and hypotheses testing. The results showed some similarities as well as differences from the previous literature. The study found that performance expectancy, habit, and perceived aesthetic were the main predictors of smartwatch adoption. Compatibility was the antecedent factor of performance expectancy, and innovativeness directly influenced user adoption and effort expectancy. Consequently, user smartwatch adoption usually led to recommendation.

The 21st-century learning demands for teachers to become a central agent in fostering various skills to students. Concurrently, teachers were also encouraged to utilize ICT in scaling up learning quality. In support of this initiative, this study introduced a crowdsourcing platform called Krumun.org developed specifically for Malaysian teachers. This exam-building crowdsourcing platform enables teachers to create, edit, and share assessment instruments. However, whether teachers will use the platform will depend on their acceptance of this new technology. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to determine teachers' acceptance factors in regards to the use of this crowdsourcing platform through the Unified Theory of Acceptance Use Technology (UTAUT) model. Questionnaires were distributed to 155 teachers who participated in Krumun.org trial launch. Partial least squares (PLS) was employed to analyze the research model through Smart-PLS 3. It is conclusive that performance expectancy (PE), self-efficacy (SE), and facilitating conditions (FC) affect behavioral intention to accept the crowdsourcing platform, Krumun.org. However, there was not enough evidence to support Effort Expectancy. Therefore, to increase the number of teachers utilizing this platform, these three factors should be prioritized. The findings of the study could also be of assistance to any related party that was planning to introduce new technology to teachers.

The intent of this paper is to research the factors that determine students’ acceptance of mobile assisted language learning (MALL) in Morocco. This study emphasizes the inclusive character of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). After careful assessment of the multiple relationships within UTAUT, a modified version of the theory was hypothesized then researched for the impact it has on the English as Foreign Language (EFL) context in Morocco. The technology acceptance model in this paper emphasized four directions connecting performance expectancy, effort expectancy, teacher feedback and compatibility to behavioral intention, also referred to as the determinants of behavioral intention to use MALL. For the purpose of this study, a technology enhanced environment was created. A total number of 156 EFL common core students were brought to interact on a WhatsApp-based platform by means of text-messaging. The WhatsApp treatment was optimized to synchronize with the institutionalized character of the teaching of English in Moroccan public schools. The questionnaire method was used for data collection. The data were screened for missingness, normality and outliers. Then, multiple reliability and validity tests were performed to substantiate the legitimacy of the dataset. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used in the assessment of the measurement model and the structural model. The outputs of structural modelling corroborated the hypothesized directions connecting teacher feedback and compatibility to behavioral intention to use MALL while there was lack of support for the relationships linking performance expectancy and effort expectancy to behavioral intention to use MALL.

This study investigates the role of perceived ease of use as an intervening variable between two external factors from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and Accounting application (MYOB) usage intention. This paper broadened TAM by enhancing external factors: performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Seventy-nine accounting students responded in this study. Employing Structural Equation Model (SEM-PLS) concludes that perceived ease of use fully intercedes the connection between effort expectancy and MYOB usage intention. Besides, perceived ease of use also intervenes the association between performance expectancy and intention to use MYOB accounting application. However, the type of mediation is complimentary mediation. The practical and theoretical implication is discussing in this paper.

Abstract. Social distancing received top priority during the COVID-19 crisis, resulting in new users of public digital services (PDS) with heterogeneous use motivation. While some users decided to use a PDS voluntarily and independently of COVID-19, others were forced to use PDS because of the COVID-19 lockdown. Based on technology acceptance models, we compared forced users ( N1 = 346) and voluntary users ( N2 = 315) using latent multigroup analysis. First-time users of a PDS ( N = 661) participated in the survey after reporting a crime online to the police. Results showed that forced and voluntary users differed regarding key factors (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, behavioral intention) and antecedents (system trust, ICT self-concept) of technology acceptance with less positive values for forced users. Further, forced users had stronger needs for system trust and usefulness (performance expectancy) than voluntary users, revealing user group-specific predictive values. The lessons learned for PDS design and marketing beyond pandemic times are discussed.

BACKGROUND The advancement of wearable devices and growing demand of consumers to monitor their own health have influenced the medical industry. Health care providers, insurers, and global technology companies intend to develop more wearable devices incorporating medical technology and to target consumers worldwide. However, acceptance of these devices varies considerably among consumers of different cultural backgrounds. Consumer willingness to use health care wearables is influenced by multiple factors that are of varying importance in various cultures. However, there is insufficient knowledge of the extent to which social and cultural factors affect wearable technology acceptance in health care. OBJECTIVE The aims of this study were to examine the influential factors on the intention to adopt health care wearables, and the differences in the underlying motives and usage barriers between Chinese and Swiss consumers. METHODS A new model for acceptance of health care wearables was conceptualized by incorporating predictors of different theories such as technology acceptance, health behavior, and privacy calculus based on an existing framework. To verify the model, a web-based survey in both the Chinese and German languages was conducted in China and Switzerland, resulting in 201 valid Chinese and 110 valid Swiss respondents. A multigroup partial least squares path analysis was applied to the survey data. RESULTS Performance expectancy (β=.361, <i>P</i>&lt;.001), social influence (β=.475, <i>P</i>&lt;.001), and hedonic motivation (β=.111, <i>P</i>=.01) all positively affected the behavioral intention of consumers to adopt wearables, whereas effort expectancy, functional congruence, health consciousness, and perceived privacy risk did not demonstrate a significant impact on behavioral intention. The group-specific path coefficients indicated health consciousness (β=.150, <i>P=</i>.01) as a factor positively affecting only the behavior intention of the Chinese respondents, whereas the factors affecting only the behavioral intention of the Swiss respondents proved to be effort expectancy (β=.165, <i>P</i>=.02) and hedonic motivation (β=.212, <i>P</i>=.02). Performance expectancy asserted more of an influence on the behavioral intention of the Swiss (β=.426, <i>P</i>&lt;.001) than the Chinese (β=.271, <i>P</i>&lt;.001) respondents, whereas social influence had a greater influence on the behavioral intention of the Chinese (β=.321, <i>P</i>&lt;.001) than the Swiss (β=.217, <i>P</i>=.004) respondents. Overall, the Chinese consumers displayed considerably higher behavioral intention (<i>P</i>&lt;.001) than the Swiss. These discrepancies are explained by differences in national culture. CONCLUSIONS This is one of the first studies to investigate consumers’ intention to adopt wearables from a cross-cultural perspective. This provides a theoretical and methodological foundation for future research, as well as practical implications for global vendors and insurers developing and promoting health care wearables with appropriate features in different countries. The testimonials and support by physicians, evidence of measurement accuracy, and easy handling of health care wearables would be useful in promoting the acceptance of wearables in Switzerland. The opinions of in-group members, involvement of employers, and multifunctional apps providing credible health care advice and solutions in cooperation with health care institutions would increase acceptance among the Chinese.

<p class="Abstract">This research is motivated by a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia and Grab Companies in Indonesia to provide tourism features in Grab Mobile Application. It is hoped that with this collaboration, tourists can use the application to travel and provide benefits. Based on this phenomenon the researcher wants to know how technology acceptance is, by using five factors, namely perceived performance expectancy, perceived effort expectancy, perceived trust, social influence, and perceived quality. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive statistical research methods. The subjects of this study were 110 users of the Grab mobile application in Bandung. Data collection techniques that are used by researchers is by distributing questionnaires. In this research, we will discuss about 5 UTAUT factors in using the Grab application. The results of the study explained that the five factors show the good category where the perceived performance expectancy factor got score 2131 from 2750 as ideal score, perceived effort expectancy got 1362 from 1650, the perceived trust received 2519 from 3300, social influence got 845 from 1100 and perceived quality got 2854 from 3850. Suggestions regarding the Grab application in this study include intensifying the promotion of the Grab application and its tourism features so that more people are aware of and use the Grab application in tourism activities.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p></p>

<p><strong><em>Purpose </em></strong>– <em>The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of gamification in the use of internet banking on the intention of customers to adopt and recommend internet banking towards Compatibility, Innovativeness, Web Design, Web Characteristic, Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy . This research will help the Bank to measure the effect of gamification towards their customer to use Internet Banking. So they can innovate their Internet Banking system to be more fun and entertaining, so the customer will feel more enjoy to use and they will recommend to other people. <strong>Design/methodology/approach </strong>– 192 responses were collected from customers of internet banking user by using an online questionnaire. Using the convenience sampling approach. The collected data was analyzed using SEM with the help of  PLS. <strong>Findings </strong>– The results indicate that intention to adopt internet banking is positively affected by Innovativeness, Web Design Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy . While compatibility and web characteristic doesn’t have a positive effect. The moderating effect of gamification suggested that the relationship between customer intention to adopt and customer intention to recommend will make the gamification effect become weak. <strong>Practical Implications </strong>– The research suggests that web designer and bank management should focus on the website design of the internet banking. Enjoyable internet banking website with reward and point system will help to improve user’s intention to adopt and intention to recommend internet banking with others. So the bank should make an innovative reward system for every transaction in internet banking. <strong>Originality/value </strong>– This research provide the technology acceptance construct and adding the game elements in technology perspective of internet banking as a moderating effect, to analyze the element effect towards intention to use and intention to recommend.</em></p>

The following research attempts to investigate the determinants influencing consumers' intention to adopt mobile payment (MP). The research model was adapted based on three constructs from the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and facilitating conditions in the research model. In addition, usage experience was also added to the model to test for moderating effect. An online survey conducted through Taiwanese chat rooms resulted in 348 valid responses, which were analyzed using Smart PLS. Results indicated that (1) effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions were three major factors influencing intention to use mobile payment; (2) facilitating conditions played a significant role in impacting effort expectancy and performance expectancy; (3) usage experience positively moderated the relationship between facilitating conditions and performance expectancy; and (4) usage experience also positively moderated the relationship between facilitating conditions and effort expectancy.

This article aims to investigate users' continuous usage intention of quick response (QR) code mobile payment services in China. Drawing from UTAUT as theory foundation, this study integrates with literature on perceived risk and involvement to propose a research model and seven research hypotheses to examine user's continuous usage of QR code mobile payment services. The research model was empirically tested with a sample of 215 users of QR code mobile payment services in China. The results indicated that five of seven research hypotheses were significantly supported. According to the results, performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence had significant positive direct impacts on users' continuous usage intention of QR code mobile payment services. However, perceived risk did not have a negative effect on users' continuous usage intention of QR code mobile payment services. This article contributes to the existing literature on continuous usage of mobile payment services.

We studied the effect of the antecedents of the buy-online-pick-up-in-store (BOPIS) service on consumer’s BOPIS choice and shopping behaviour. The convenience of BOPIS benefits retailers and consumers; therefore, we used online surveys of consumers and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) model. The results of the study show that performance expectancy, trust, compatibility with BOPIS shopping, hedonic motivation and social influence affected the behavioural intentions in omni-channel BOPIS. However, price value and effort expectancy were not considered to be important factors in choosing BOPIS shopping. A moderating effect of the different age generations was analysed in the model. The managerial implications and the limitations of the study are also discussed.
